Letter from the President

Hello Team Loyalty,

Can you believe the years is three quarters over and we have officially entered Q4 (fourth quarter)? This year as absolutely flown by. Fourth quarter is an important time for any retail business and Loyalty Pawn is no exception. The pawn industry has mul tiple facets that we do buy, sell and pawn each of these facets get extremely busy during the fourth quarter. School starting bills are flowing into our client’s mailboxes, Halloween festivities, Thanksgiving and of course Christmas and New Years, I am sure I am missing a few things, but these are all major factors in our Q4 earnings and level of business. So, get ready for what we should expect to be the busiest time in Loyalty Pawn history. Between how we all have embraced the our tremendous culture, our online and social media presence and the continued training and knowledge we have all gained I believe we are well prepared and I also believe you will make it look easy. We do however NEED to hit our goals!!

We have some new team members and are continuing to find quality talent, that will help in this fourth quarter and beyond. Wayne, Javier and myself are purchasing more quality inventory in jewelry and luxury goods which will help everyone hit there sales goals. Please let Wayne and/or Javier know if you or your teams have any special inventory requests we will try to accommodate. I am searching for several luxury watches, Rolex, Tag Heuer, Omega, Brietling, etc.

I am excited to start implementing and bringing to Loyalty Pawn many of the great takeaways several of our teammates have learned from either the PawnGuru conference in Detroit, Pawnshop Consulting Group focus group in Chicago and the CAPA (California Pawnbrokers Association) Southern California Conference. We have many new ideas and which we will be implementing over the next several months which will bring more efficiency to all of Team Loyalty. I am also looking forward to our October ICG Consulting seminar coming towards the end of this month. Team leaders will be scheduling their team members to attend the seminar. This seminar will give the attendees more knowledge on jewelry, diamonds, colored stones and I am sure a few selling tips as well. A few of us has already attended some of this training and were very impressed with the content.

As always a huge shout out to all of Team Loyalty, thank you for your continued hard work, culture growth and commitment to Loyalty Pawn.

A Letter from the General Manager

Hello Everyone,

Goodbye 3rd quarter and hello 4th quarter! We are officially having a fall season! We have much to be proud of! In the last month I had the privilege of traveling to other pawnshops and meeting other operators and teams. It is refreshing to know that Loyalty Pawn has made a strong impression to others who don’t even operate within California. We were asked many questions when visiting other stores. Some operators wanted to know specifically how we have developed such engaged teams? It was easy enough to answer that we created solid vision, values & goals that helped mold our company culture. We are very proud and fortunate to have such empowered teams!

Store Performance’s: Starting with sales, the first-place salesman was Dominic T. $25,331.06, 2nd place was Parker Hush $16,524.87, 3rd place Mark Xiong $13,324.73. The first-place salesmen for the quarter is Dominic T. 2nd place is Tony Ferrari and 3rd place is Parker Hush. All three salespeople will qualify for the higher bonus percentage for the 4th quarter sales incentive. The managers have set store goals for each month and for the whole quarter. We are looking forward to hitting these goals to finish off the year strong! We are happy to continue our incentive program and look forward to everyone hitting the weekly minimum goal within their store.

Upcoming Seminar: Starting October 15th through October 17th, we will be having a diamond training seminar taking place in the training room at Broadway. This course is a great way to receive one on one lab training and will focus on appraising stones, proper use of jewelry tools, hands on loupe lesson and much more. These seminars are invaluable, and the presenter Greg Weiss is excited for the visit. Also, we are currently looking into high end watch training and we will be happy to share the details when the course is available.

Loyalty Pawn Family

Another month is gone, and I can’t believe how fast this year is passing us by. As we enter the last quarter of the year, I’m excited to see everyone hit their goals. We had the privilege of going to Chicago for a focus group where we get to check out someone else’s operation and provide them with some insight on things they could work on to better their operation. The best part about going to groups like this and shows like the CAPA conventions is getting to network with all these great minds in the industry. Every time I go to these events, I come back more motivated and more excited about the industry we are in. It was very refreshing to converse with other leaders and what they had to say about Loyalty Pawn even across the country. I was asked several times what I thought was our greatest success we have had since being Loyalty Pawn my answer was short and sweet. I give all the credit to the team we have and the culture we have created. So great job everyone and let’s continue to strive to be the benchmark of what a chain of Pawn shops should be. This month we are going to get to know Zabi the senior associate for the Florin location. So, as most of you know I am from the Fiji Islands. Zabi came to the US at the age of 12, they settled in South San Francisco, and moved out to Sacramento, ca in 2001 after graduating from high school. she has a very small family which consists of her older brother and a younger sister and her parents of course. Zabi is a mother of 2 daughters Ameerah age 7 and Aaliyah age 5, who keep her on a constant busy schedule. If she is not working at the florin location, she is doing something with her girls. She came to the pawn industry by chance in 2009 when she lost her job with Elk Grove Toyota. She was looking and working any jobs that came her way that year, when she got the call for interview with this company at the moment, she had no idea what I was getting into and had no knowledge of what a pawn shop was exactly she says she was not expecting to be here ten years later. However, these 10 years of working in this industry it has definitely helped her grow as a person. When she first started here, she admits that she was a very shy person and still is a little bit. She says that the industry has really helped her grow and be a stronger person. Over those ten years with the company she has learned so much not only dealing with daily transactions and product knowledge. What keeps her coming back motivated to work is the feeling she gets when she knows that she has the ability to help those in need in the community that she lives in. Zabi’s hobbies are reading mystery novels when she gets the chance. The last book she read was something a little different she read the “The 5 levels of leadership” this definitely gave her a very different insight of herself. In the future she hopes in be able to build herself enough to run a store on her own someday. If she gets the chance to take a trip she would love to go to Europe. Another trip she would like to do would be to go back to Australia just like she did in 2006. Whatever Zabi has for the future I know she can count on her Loyalty Family to support her.

Team Loyalty,

We had a great month over here at ELCO! We had some great sales and we put up some great number. We also welcomed a new member to the team by the name of Miguel and he is doing a fantastic job including having the visions values and goals memorized by his second day which I believe is the record for the company! I was also able to go to the CAPA convention this month and I learned so much and cannot wait to take it back to the store and start implementing a lot of the great things that we saw. We see a great month coming up in October along with some very exciting projects coming down the pipeline!

We had a great summer with excellent Sales and and loans. Fall is here and the month of October we are promoting buy one get on half off jewelry sales. Florin hit $1.5 million in loan balance and still climbing. Florin in getting into the holiday festivity and decorating our showroom. Fourth quarter is here and lets en 2019 strong. We all have set goals for ourselves and let achieve it.

Hello Team Loyalty,

It is the end of the third quarter and things are looking great over here at Roseville. We have been continuously crushing our sales and loan goals and continue to grow our customer base every day. Employees have been performing at top level and are excited and looking forward to what we can make happen for the 4th quarter. The holiday season is right here so business is about to get crazy. Push those layaway's and the urgency of Christmas is almost here. Ramsey went to the CAPA pawn convention in Long beach and had a great time. He learned a lot from the seminars and did some networking with other pawn shops throughout the state. It was a great experience and the leadership team at Loyalty Pawn are looking forward to sending more employees to these types of events. Let’s crush this 4th quarter and make 2019 the best year yet. Hello everyone Broadway is happy to say we have broken the 900k mark for the first time ever. We are excited to see that number keep growing as well. Big shout out to our two new team members Kirby and Richard please everyone welcome them to the team we are have them on board.

West Sacramento

Hello Team,

I hope everyone had a great September and is looking forward to October and the final quarter of the year. West Sac is very excited to announce that we are in the 1400 club for google reviews and we hear that Kings Pawn from down south is challenging us for highest googled reviewed pawn shop in California. We are up for the challenge and trust me we are going to reclaim our google review title.

Fun Fact: The name October comes from the Latin word Octo meaning eight, because in the Roman calendar October was the eight month of the year.

Did you know that according to the Farmer’s Almanac October’s name came from the Latin octo, “eight,” because this was the eighth month of the early Roman calendar? When the Romans converted to a 12-month calendar the name October stuck, even though it’s now the 10th month in our 12-month calendar cycle.

Columbus Day is observed on the second Monday in October. It was on October 12, 1492, that Christopher Columbus landed on a small island in the Bahamas, convinced that he had reached Asia. Indigenous Peoples’ Day a holiday that celebrates the history and cultures of indigenous peoples native to what is today the United States. Indigenous Peoples’ Day is celebrated in cities and states across the country. Halloween (All Hallows’ Eve)! …and also, Mercury Retrograde begins October 31. It’s said intuition is high during this time, so keep your third eye open for spirits and the like on Halloween night!

401k Maximum Contributions

As we are now in the 4th quarter of 2019, think about how much you need and/or want to save or shelter as a tax savings. This year, you will be able to save up to $19,000 in your 401(k) up from $18,500 in 2018. The limit for individual retirement accounts will be $6,000 up from $5,500 this year. The catchup contribution limits for those 50 and over remain unchanged for next year.
