Letter from the President

Hello Team Loyalty,

It looks like tax money is coming in, yay!!! However, I believe this will be a short tax season, so we will need to be prepared for when the loans start coming back. I know this will be the loan tsunami the industry has we talked about over the last year. I would like for us to try our best to work rewrites, redeems and sales while our customers have the income coming in. It is important for the industry to take advantage of these times as the months that have money coming in quickly are far less than the months that have the money going out to loans. Loyalty Pawn is no exception. Our typical months of positive cash flow are February, March, November, and December so that means that we have eight months of typical negative cash flow. That is the goal and Loyalty Pawns business model and has served us well for nearly 30 years so keep up the excellent work.

We have an exciting event coming to our doors the first part of April. Jerry Whiteheads Pawnshop Focus Group is coming to visit us. There will be a dozen or more of the nation's top pawnbrokers visiting each of our locations. They will have an all-access pass to our stores, they will be asking a lot of questions and taking notes. The goal is for them to criticize our operation with both positive and negative CONSTRUCTIVE criticism. We want to know what we do well and share our successes so others can bring back to their operations. We also want to know what we do not do, help and listen to them so they can help us become better. This can be from merchandising, training, banking, vendors, and the list does not stop. We need to get the stores in tip top shape before we start the store tours on April 4th. We will need all hands-on deck; I Thank you in advance for your help.

Finally, I just would like to put it in our newsletter. Welcome back John Mark we are all glad you are back!

Gratefully,

Letter from the General Manager

Greetings Everyone!

February has flown by quickly! With gratitude, we have welcomed back John Mark. John has been out of the office fighting a health battle since October 2021. While John was recovering, his friends' wishes for good health were sent his way. Thankfully, John returned to work in February. John has returned with both feet running! While John was absent, we have moved West Sac into Broadway (not without hick-ups). Consolidating all the loans, layaways, and purchases was a bit of a challenge. Now that we have organized the store, eBay is up and running. Jason W. has been instrumental in launching eBay at Broadway. We have merged most of all West Sac Loans into Broadway. We expect to have all loan transactions to be complete no later than the end of March.

As for the sales of February, "Catch me if you Can," Dominic T. got first place in sales for the month, hitting $50,588.02. For 2nd place, Norma Bobadilla sold $19,936.39, and in 3rd Place, Javier Becerra sold $18,734.82. Congratulations, team, for your hard work selling! So far, this is the first time this year that Norma got top 3 in sales! I'm optimistic that this won't be the last.

I want to mention some updates coming shortly. At the beginning of April, we will be having a pawn focus group visit our locations. The focus group will be here from April 3rd to April 7th. This visit is exciting as we look forward to picking their brains from store metrics, cohesiveness, sales, lending practices, and much more. I believe it was 2016 when they last came to visit our company. Much has changed since their last visit. We will be looking forward to this visit and the new critiques we will receive. Sometimes, an outside eye is a must for improvement. We are not perfect, but we are humble enough to improve!

Also, we have committed to merging software starting on April 10th. We will first transition from the El Camino location to Bravo on April 10th. After El Camino, we plan to continue converting by store #, Florin, Roseville & Broadway. Currently, there will be a week gap in between each store's conversion. We will continue to wait for Bravo's guidance on this.

Like many years past, we are gearing up for tax season. Typically, the tax season lasts for at least a month, starting at the end of February. We think this year it may be a little less. Let's hope that the tax season lasts through the month of March this year! We have many items to sell, layaways to be serviced, and many loans to be paid on! Keep up the great work, teams!

Sincerely,

3

Loyalty Pawn Family

Greetings Loyalty Family,

I can’t believe March is already upon us seems like this year is already flying by. I guess that’s what happens when you have a busy month. It finally looks like some of that tax money is starting to trickle through, like we have been talking about in our manager calls this is a perfect opportunity to remind our clients about their layaways. With clients coming in trying to redeem their loans by reminding them about their layaways they might change their minds and pay the interest on their items and pick up their layaways. We want to keep working hard in getting the stores ready for the focus group to come visit our stores. This is a great time for this group to criticize our stores and help us figure out what we might need help with. Shop Talk Manager Updates

Team Loyalty,

Well the flowers are blooming and allergies are happening, speaking of blooming El Camino is blooming with inventory. With the March Madness sale we continue to clear out tools and bigger items for more retail space. Bike should be rolling off the showroom floor due to the spike in gas prices! overall Team ElCo continues to work strong in these times, we have been organizing and going back to basics we want to show the focus group what a clean and impeccable shop we are. Also we also continue to hit our incentives every week with all the new jewelry inventory and tax season among us. We finished strong with 82k in sales in the month of February, we have set a goal of 93k for the month of March which boils down to 3k a day. Let's gooo team Elco! and I keep reminding my team "Alone we can do so little, together we can do so much".

Florin Mall

Loyalty Pawn Families,

I hope everyone is doing well. Wow we are in the second half of 3rd quarter already. Team Florin is still holding a strong loan balance of $1.6mil. Last month we shrunk in our loan balance as we are seeing tax money coming through. We are hoping to see some inventory rolled out with tax season here. We are heavy in inventory from bikes to tools and music items. As spring is here team Florin is working hard on spring cleaning and organizing. We are getting ready for the focus group in April. We had a great run with Team Elco and Team Roseville great job with those amazing sales numbers. It was awesome seeing those sales producing, that kept us on our toes and trying to take it in sales. Team Florin collected about $19.45k in layaway pickups last month that was an additional $675 in sales per day. We are continuing to push layaways; they do work and helps with your sales numbers. Well March is here, and we have an awesome 25% off sales on tools. This is the time to move those items. I know everyone is heavy in tools. We have a birthday this month. We wanted to wish Mike Xiong A VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY. It’s great to see everything starting to go back to normal with the lift on mandated mask but let’s not let a guard down let’s continue to keep the store clean and sterilize, stay healthy everyone. “TEAMWORK Coming together is the beginning. Keeping together is a progress. Working together is success. “ -Henry

Hello Team Loyalty,

Well, it seems like we are finally getting some relief from the pandemic with some easing to mask mandates and restrictions. I know the last 2 years have not been easy for anyone and much harder for some than others, but we can now hopefully finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. I just want to say thank you to all of you in the Loyalty Pawn Family, you all have done an amazing job and I appreciate all the hard work, dedication, and commitment. Thank you! You all truly represent our Visions Values and Goals, and you should all feel proud of this.

Welcome back the Broadway corner with your host John Mark that’s right I’m Back and better then ever thanks to everyone for the support while I was gone. The store has been doing amazing and growing steadily and making some sales here and there. The big project is getting the store organized and clean with the combination of west sac loans and Broadway loans being mixed together and tagged correctly. We have a lot of work ahead of us but I have a great team to rely on and I know we can all get it done together.

March Astronomy

March’s full Moon, the Worm Moon, reaches peak illumination on Friday, March 18, 2022,at3:20 A.M.EDT. Lookforit intheevening ofThursday, March 17, as the Moon rises above the horizon!

Why is it called the Worm Moon?

The full Moon names used by The Old Farmer’s Almanac come from a number of places, including Native American, Colonial American, and European sources. Traditionally, each full Moon name was applied to the entire lunar month in which it occurred, not only to the full Moon.

The Worm Moon

March’s full Moon goes by the name Worm Moon, which was originally thought to refer to the earthworms that appear as the soil warms in spring. This invites robins and other birds to feed a true sign of spring!

An alternative explanation for this name comes from Captain Jonathan Carver, an 18th-century explorer, who wrote that this Moon name refers to a different sort of “worm” beetle larvae which begin to emerge from the thawing bark of trees and other winter hideouts at this time. Source: almanac.com
