Editor’s Letter I know when you sign up to read our outlet for information and entertainment, you expect the best. And if you allow, I can duly take a little credit of it.

taying cool, comfortable, and appropriate when dressing for work during summer can be a challenge, especially if the outside temperature is more than 40°C (with 85% humidity) throughout the season. Then, it might seem impossible to pull together outfits that are suitable for your workplace, right?! But it turns out, with a little planning you can embrace summer and still look polished and professional in the warm months. Here are 7 easy styling strategies to deal with the real heat, depending on the type of attire your job dress code requires.

(2) Choose your cut wisely.

Find a cut that is fitted but not super tight. Avoid body-hugging, overly tight styles when temperatures rise. Flowy silhouettes, loose, airy fabrics like flouncy blouses or twill pants are great to offer plenty of ventilation. Breeze tops, skirts and dresses also get the airflow, keeping your skin fresh.

(3) Sleeveless dresses, camisoles, and blouses, worn with a blazer or cardigan.

Pairing light base layers like sleeveless tops or camisoles under your outwear is a great option when you have to balance the cold office temperatures and the high humidity as soon as you step outside the work environment. Layering will not show the exposed skin and you can always adjust the outwear depending on the ‘AC’ strength: if it’s too cold at your office, prefer a thick blazer or cardigan. (1) Wear lighter and breathable fabrics.

When it comes to your basics, prefer fabrics that are lighter and will help you keep cooler, like cotton, linen, and rayon, avoiding anything that clings or adds heat (satin, silk, wool, etc.). Cotton is a soft yet breathable and lightweight material, made with natural fiber, and widely available. Linen is a lightweight fabric that dries very quickly. It’s also easy to wrinkle, so try to avoid this fabric on those days you have to get up and down a lot, when you have to do a presentation or visit a client, for example. Rayon is a cheaper alternative to silk, it’s thin, smooth and won’t stick to you.

A midi skirt is one of the best options to build an endless amount of work summer outfits, especially if they are pleated and made with a lightweight material. There’s more fabric to help the airflow, they give you lots of movements and the midi length elevates your outfit instantly.

(6) Switch it up with slingback shoes.

When it comes to your shoes, it’s important to remain professional. Instead of wearing the close-toe shoes usually required by business dress codes, you can change your summer shoe game and invest in slingback versions. You will still look chic and get the coverage over close toe but more skin exposure along the heel. They are also more comfortable options, and you can find them in flats or high heels. Pairing them with cropped trousers and midi skirts gives you a more lengthening look while making your feet feel not quite as stuffy as a full-coverage shoe.

INTERVIEW WITH MR HASSAN ANWARI JOURNALIST, WRITER AND CERTIFIED TRAINER

I

n the digital world, now responsible journalism is an immense responsibility.

Paving the way in a sea of click-baits and unverified news, the journalists have to make an extra effort to establish their identity.

It requires a certain level of determination to float in such circumstances. However, Mr Hassan owned it like a king.

Mr Hassan is one of the pioneers of journalism and he has dedicated his life relentlessly for the welfare of his country.

After excelling in his career, he is now working as a writer and pursuing his passion for reading.

So, without further ado, let’s find out, who is he?

1. Early life and Education Hailing from a humble background, Mr Hassan completed his bachelors in Arabic from the University of Qatar. Soon after his degree, he landed his first job as Office director of the editor in chief of Al-Raya newspaper.

From a young age, he was keen to learn about the different subjects therefore, he started to work as a teacher of research and office skills in the ministry of Education.

However, soon he moved back to journalism and started working with the Al-Sharq newspaper.

Over years, he worked in different departments including the Department of Journalistic Investigations, then-Secretary Editing on the Al Sharq Gate website, then as Director of Public Relations at Al Raya Newspaper, and currently, he is working as Director of Advertising and Marketing at Al Raya and Gulf Times newspapers.

2. Is Mr Hassan an avid reader?

Journalism is a watchdog for the injustice and corruption that prevails in society. With the growing power imbalance and brutality in society, an honest journalist is a ray of hope.

Mr Hassan interests have always been indifferent to others. Unlike others, books were his friend and he used to spend a fair share of time with them. He recalled how he used to borrow books from his friends and used to read them quickly.

His interest was mostly in Literature and History and therefore, he would always read those books as a hobby.

His passion for reading grew when he joined Qatar University and he shared that most of his time was spent in the library reading books of different disciplines.

3. Mr Hassan’s journey as a Writer.

Reading and Writing gets along well.

A writer translates emotions into words. It requires a set of skills and practice to do it which is why Mr Hassan always worked towards his writing.

He had a deep passion for writing as a child. He recalled writing poetry and stories as a child and upon his arrival at Qatar University, he started to take this hobby seriously.

Since he was majoring in Arabic, writing was a major aspect of his discipline. He used to put his efforts and time into it and then while working in journalism he refined his skills to an extent that now he has written his book, The Smell of Books.

It’s fascinating to see how the journalist juggled between so many roles and aced at all.

He has hosted many conferences, lectures and talk show to explain the importance of reading and writing.

His prominent program is the (Between the Shelves) program with his colleague Reem Daibes, where they presented to the public the most prominent international works translated in the field of literature, whether international novels or biographies of international writers.

7. His favorite book To ask a reader about his favorite book is equivalent to a mother asking about her favorite child.

Mr. Hassan do not have any single favorite book. Instead, there’s a bunch of books he would read all over again. However, Alberto Manguel books holds a special place in his hear considering, it’s a source of inspiration from him.

8. Message to the youth The journalist encouraged the youth to keep the quest of learning alive. He said the process of learning is never ending and one should always look and learn to develop and grow.

Meanwhile, the V6 twin-turbo engine 3.3-liter diesel variant, which will be available to buy in the region soon, is capable of 302 hp and up to 700 nm.
