We share a commitment to offering programs that educate and empower people and our communities to enhance their quality of life. Mistress of Ceremonies Denise Dador Eyewitness News Health Specialist Denise Dador joined ABC7 “EYEWITNESS NEWS” in July 1998. She brings a rich heritage and professional background to her “Healthy Living” features, which air regularly on the 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. editions of Eyewitness News. Since she arrived in Los Angeles, Denise has received numerous journalism and community service awards. She has been honored by the American Heart Association, the American Cancer Society, the March of Dimes and the Sjogren’s Foundation to name a few. Along with her health reporting duties, Denise has also covered major breaking news stories. These include the February 2001 Seattle Earthquake and an exclusive interview with President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo regarding terrorist activities in the Philippines. Denise is a recipient of an Emmy for outstanding news feature reporting, best news feature from the Michigan Association of Broadcasters and the “Outstanding Health Reporting” award from the Southern Christian Leadership Conference. She has also received the “Profiles in Progress” award from the American Cancer Society for her series on breast cancer. Denise and her husband, Rey, are native Californians and are both happy to make Southern California their home. They have one son and two big dogs, Bowie and Terrific.
Speaker Anita Gabrielian Anita Quinonez Gabrielian is AT&T Executive Director of External Affairs – Los Angeles. During her 30 years at AT&T, she has mastered a variety of positions. She began her career as a Network Design Engineer. Years later she led the Data Engineering Team in Southern California responsible for the construction of the data backbone required for the deployment of new products such as DSL, and served as chief of staff for the President of SBC in Los Angeles. Gabrielian is the immediate past chair of the San Gabriel Valley Economic Partnership and a member of the Glendale Latino Association Board. She serves on the Advisory Board of Cal State LA’s Pat Brown Institute of Public Affairs, the Glendale Police Department’s Community-Police Partnership Advisory Committee and is a graduate of the CORO Foundation’s Leadership Southern California Program. Anita’s work in the community extends beyond her work-related activities. She serves as Chairwoman of the Community Board of Glendale Memorial Hospital and Trustee for Glendale Community College District. Gabrielian earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Southern California and an MBA from California Polytechnic University in Pomona. She resides in Glendale with her husband, Leo, and their three daughters. 10

Mother Love improved her own diabetes management by losing over 100 pounds and implementing healthy lifestyle choices. Rev. Alexia Salvatierra Topic: Healthcare Reform Rev. Alexia Salvatierra is the Executive Director of CLUE-CA (Clergy and Laity United for Economic Justice of California), a statewide alliance of interfaith organizations composed of religious leaders who have come together to respond to the crisis of working poverty by joining low-wage workers in their struggle for a living wage, health insurance, fair working conditions, and a voice in the decisions that affect them. CLUE-CA is known for its leadership development program for young religious leaders of all faith traditions and for its work with immigrant evangelical congregations. Rev. Salvatierra is an ordained Pastor in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America with over 30 years of experience in interfaith and community ministry, community organizing, and legislative advocacy. She has been awarded the Changemaker award from the Liberty Hill Foundation, the Stanton Fellowship from the Durfee Foundation, the Amos Award from Sojourners, and the Prime Mover award from the Hunt Alternatives Fund.
