“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.”

Farming is one of the hardest jobs in America. It requires a person to work 365 days a year to put food on the table for almost everyone in the world. The food at the grocery store and restaurants would not be there without farmers. The amazing advancement in technology with the tractors and milking equipment has made feeding America considerably easier. Farming equipment is not free though, it costs thousands of dollars to purchase and lease farming technology. Farmers today are able to get more out of their crops and animals. Even with all that technology farmers put in a lot of effort to get the job done. Farming is changing drastically everyday through these new technologies. Research easily finds new ways to feed billions of people through the growth of fresh produce and the raising of strong cattle for beef.

“In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may glorify your Father in heaven.” This passage from Matthew 5:16 inspires Christians to let their light shine through their love in Jesus. The newest addition to Lakeside lets the school’s light shine: literally. A warming blue hue can now be found shinning down on anyone exiting the school through the main entrance.
The stained glass window is located above the entrance doors by the office. This beautiful work of art was paid for and designed by Lakeside’s very own Ladie’s Guild. The window was created by Oconomowoc’s “Touch of Color” stained glass studio and artist, Renata Bradenburg. This stained glass window will serve as a reminder to all who pass it to let the light of God shine in their lives.

“Selfie Olympics: An ongoing competition to take the most original and awe-inspiring selfie. This often involves using various props, costumes, furniture, and an impressive array of poses in front of the bathroom mirror.” (Urbandictionary.com) The Selfie Olympics, most active on Twitter, are in full swing. Users portray great creativity in the art form of the selfie. Twitter users upload their unique selifies with #SelfieOlympics to show off pictures. Some of the best of this competition involve extravagant props such as ball pits, Christmas trees, guitars, and bicycles all inside their own bathroom. Most competitors seem to have one motive: pure entertainment and humor. The only rule is it must be a true selfie or “a photograph that one has taken of oneself, typically one taken with a smartphone or webcam and uploaded to a social media website” (oxforddictionary.com) The one and only purpose of

God never promised us that it would be easy to witness to others or even to live on this earth. Sure, not everyone has experienced such things as a debilitating sports injury, losing loved ones, or being persecuted for our faith, but we all have our share of problems. As sinful human beings, we tend to blame these troubles on other people or even God. Usually when something terrible happens like the explosion in Texas or the bombs at the Boston Marathon, people ask why. Why God could ever let anything like that happen if he is a loving God. But He always has a plan for everything. Bad experiences can be used to help others who are going through similar hard times or who are suffering along with us. These events can also bring opportunities to witness our faith to unbelievers, as God wants all people to be saved.
