Help begins freshman year even before classes begin as students learn to develop a system that will make high school run smoothly. ELC staff help them organize their lockers, manage each subject’s papers, and monitor assignments with their planner.
The bulk of their work is with students who are assigned to the ELC for study hall. Staff are available to help in almost all core subject areas, but find that support for math and sciences is the area most often needed.
The ELC is also available for students who need help and guidance to get back on track in one specific course.
Our highly qualified staff includes Director Ruth Hirschfeld who has a Masters in Education and state licensure in Education and cross-categorical Special Education with an emphasis in learning disabilities.
