A Message from the Development Team Friday, August 19, 2016...

The Development Office Annual Appreciation Tent was blessed with another night of amazing weather, wonderful turn-out and lots of food and fellowship! Once we topped that with a solid Warrior football win, what’s left to ask for? If you joined us, thanks for being a part of the evening. If you missed it, won’t you keep us in mind for next year?

We are so abundantly blessed and YOU are one of the many reasons why!

Your support for Christian education at Lakeside Lutheran High School is just one of our many blessings. Your gifts of prayers, time and earthly riches are a reason to share our expression of gratitude and give glory to God. When we choose to be thankful, there is little room for discontent. This applies to so many areas in our day-to-day living: family life, health concerns, workplace, politics, and even in our faith life. God gives us this strength! There are many other choices we make on a daily basis that reflect who we are—let’s all try to make choices that allow God’s light to shine through us.

We hope you continue to spread joy and Jesus—in the coming year.

“2016 marks my 28th year of teaching and my first year here at Lakeside Lutheran. Heidi and I have five children, two of which are a senior and a sophomore. We’ve had two children graduate from Lakeside: Sara (‘11) and Aaron (‘12) and are back in the area after a few years away. We love LLHS because it reenforces that students need to keep God’s Word close all their lives and stresses the importance of Christ-centered friends to encourage you when your faith is challenged.

Our children were well prepared for college and the workforce and left LLHS, “Equipped for Life and Eternity.”

During my four years away, I’ve seen what other WELS and public high schools do in regard to education, and I can help lead our Lakeside Lutheran successfully into the future. I’ve led workshops and presentations on using technology in education and improving the quality of teaching. I bring that information with me, and we will be a leader in technology in education. In the past, I’ve started an engineering program for students and will also bring that to LLHS in the near future. Finally, I’m excited to share what I’ve learned about making student-centered learning and project-based learning the center of every LLHS classroom.”

Drew accepted a call in summer 2016 to serve as our Technology Director, teach Tech Ed classes including Freshmen Computer Essentials, Intro to Programming, Web Page Design and Computer Maintenance. He is also the Boys Golf Coach and the new STEM Club (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) advisor.

Rho

Fellowship

Mrs. Jennifer Krauklis

Members of the Rho Fellowship, with the Lord’s guidance, have provided multiple gifts totaling less than $1,000 within the last year to Lakeside Lutheran High School. The Greek letters Rho and Chi form the symbol for Christ. This symbol, displayed in the center of our school seal, serves as a reminder that Christ is the center of our faith at Lakeside. Through this faith we return our blessings to continue His work.

“For the past 5 years, I have been blessed to be a part of the coaching staff at Lakeside Lutheran, serving as the Varsity Volleyball Head Coach. Each year I am humbled and encouraged by the faith and sportsmanship I witness in our players. I have received numerous e-mails from refs and opposing coaches, commending our team on the respect our players have shown to others. Our prayer before every game is to let our light shine for Jesus as we compete, and it’s amazing to see how the Lord works through their words, actions and attitudes!

This year I’ve also been blessed to be a part of the teaching staff. The welcoming and support I have received was absolutely amazing! In the classroom, I have witnessed our students working hard to use their gifts and abilities academically, but also when they support and encourage their fellow classmates. It creates a culture that is great for learning.

Athletics and academics are only a part of what Lakeside has to offer. The biggest blessing I see is that Lakeside provides an opportunity to continually hear, study and grow in God’s Word—for faculty, students and athletes alike. Because of that, students and teachers are sharing the love of Jesus through their words and actions, inside and outside of school!”

Jenny serves as an adjunct in math and science this school year, and just recently accepted a full-time call in 2017-18 to replace retiring PhyEd teacher Mrs. Gayle Bauer. The Krauklis family are members at St. Paul, Lake Mills.
