This time of year finds many families filled with happy and sad feelings. Happy that young adults are graduating and starting new adventures. Sad because it’s also a time of letting go with the hope that everything necessary has been done to help prepare them for their journeys. At Lakeside, we too, share these emotions. We have created relationships, instructed, reprimanded, laughed, cried, and prayed for these graduates. Their journey is an important one. Their journey is also our journey.

During our final Chapel assembly this school year, Mr. Paul Bauer shared a moving message using a relay race analogy that reminds us of our important roles as Christians—to share our faith by passing it on: “The Holy Spirit works through people,” Bauer said. “He commissions people like you and me to testify to the truth. It’s like a big relay race that has been going on since God made Adam and Eve. Leg after leg, generation after generation, the Spirit of Truth has testified to the truth—depending on vessels of clay like you and me to pass that truth on, like a baton, to the next generation. We have a vital role.

We’ve all been chosen. We’ve all been gifted for the job. We’re all in the exchange zone, right now. It’s our time to pass it on. By all means and at every opportunity, pass it on. It is life’s most precious gift.”

Your Lakeside Lutheran hosted Rho and Kentro society member families to a picnic dinner and fellowship before complimentary admission to the Friday night performance of the musical “Princess Whatsername.”

Lord, Thank you for the presence of the Holy Spirit in our lives. Please open our eyes wide to all the courage, strength and wisdom you have for us in Christ so that we may be effective witnesses for YOU. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Fellowship

Members of the Chi Fellowship, through the fruits of the Holy Spirit, have provided a single gift of less than$1,000 during the last year to Lakeside Lutheran High School. With the Greek letter Chi so evident in our churches and schools, your association with this fellowship is a reminder of God’s love, and every gift is significant to Lakeside.

Joseph Graumann “Lakeside has been one of the greatest experiences of my life. I am blessed to have wonderful parents that gave me the opportunity to attend Lakeside and I thank them almost every day for it. I really enjoyed all the activities I participated in. My favorite was probably soccer. It was great getting to play the game I love with my Christian brothers that I love. I also am extremely thankful for all the great Christian teachers and staff all around Lakeside. There wasn’t a day that went by that I wasn’t encouraged to give all that I have for the glory of God. I will be attending Martin Luther College next year on the pastor track and have been encouraged to do so for a while. I thank Pastor Clark Schultz especially for all the help along the way. The list could go on and on for all the influential people at Lakeside and I thank them all for just being there for me the past four years.”

Joe, a member of the Lakeside Lutheran class of 2016, is the son of Bill and Becky Graumann of Fort Atkinson, and a member at Bethany in Fort.

Members of the Rho Fellowship, with the Lord’s guidance, have provided multiple gifts totaling less than $1,000 within the last year to Lakeside Lutheran High School. The Greek letters Rho and Chi form the symbol for Christ. This symbol, displayed in the center of our school seal, serves as a reminder that Christ is the center of our faith at Lakeside. Through this faith we return our blessings to continue His work.

As a thank you for your gifts we offer you membership in the Rho Fellowship, a subscription to The Legacy, and also invite you to attend the fellowship events that have been planned for you.

“I have grown up around Lakeside. My dad took a call here when I was three. I couldn’t wait to actually go to school here! Now, I’ve been here for four years. They went by really fast. I have been blessed to participate in many of the things Lakeside has to offer and I have made friends that I know will last long after I walk out those doors on graduation day. My dad is a big inspiration for me as a dad, teacher, and coach. Some people might think that being a teacher’s kid makes people go easy on you, but in reality it is the opposite. My dad, and all of the other teachers, always push me to be my best. Lakeside has blessed me with opportunities to show my talent and skill. I plan to study Secondary Physical Education next year at Martin Luther College. I would like to end up in a high school like Lakeside so that I can help students have great high school experiences and help lead them through a difficult period in their lives.”

Becca, a member of the Lakeside Lutheran class of 2016, is the daughter of Matt and Jill Doering of Lake Mills, and a member at St. Paul.

Spring Grandparents Day was April 20, 2016, when sophomores and seniors were encouraged to breakfast, worship and attend classes with their grands. Between spring and fall GPD—when it was freshmen and juniors’ turn—your Lakeside Lutheran was privileged to bring more than 160 of the two generations together.
