s the halls of Lakeside lie quiet once again, we reflect on how truly blessed Lakeside Lutheran High School has been over this past school year. It is a comfort to know that, as another class of graduates go out into the world to forge their own paths, they have been given a solid foundation in God’s word to guide and protect their journey. Through your prayers and support, the ministry of Lakeside Lutheran continues to prepare young adults for this journey.

We pray for the Lord’s blessing on your summer and look forward to seeing all of you again in the fall.

Jason Zweifel and Erin Leverence, both 2011 alums and MLC students (pictured above at right), joined Kentro members for an evening of fellowship in January. They shared details of their Spanish Immersion trip to South America last summer. They also expressed gratitude for their Lakeside experiences and shared that faculty influences, Christian friends and faith have helped shape who they are and where they are going.

Fellowship

Members of the Chi Fellowship, through the fruits of the Holy Spirit, have provided a single gift of less than$1,000 during the last year to Lakeside Lutheran High School. With the Greek letter Chi so evident in our churches and schools, your association with this fellowship is a reminder of God’s love, and every gift is significant to Lakeside.

As a thank you for your gift we offer you a subscription to The Legacy, and invite you to attend a fellowship event.

Victoria Lober Attending Lakeside has been the best four years of my life. I think that Lakeside is a great school. Not only do you get to make new Christian friends your first year, but you also get to hear the Word of God every day.

A teacher that I especially appreciated and who I still look up to: Director of Choirs and English department instructor James Buege.

Mr. Buege has played a very important role in my life, not only in Music, but also in English. I enjoyed singing in the many different choirs here and taking Language Arts and Composition with Mr. Buege.

After I graduate, I plan on pursuing a career as a called worker. I am going to MLC to become a grade school teacher. I can’t wait to use the talents that I have been given

by God to serve my Lord and Savior!

Tori, a member of the Lakeside Lutheran class of 2014, is the daughter of Matthew and Charlene Lober, and a member at St. John in Juneau.

Rho

Fellowship

Spencer Jensen

Members of the Rho Fellowship, with the Lord’s guidance, have provided multiple gifts totaling less than $1,000 within the last year to Lakeside Lutheran High School. The Greek letters Rho and Chi form the symbol for Christ. This symbol, displayed in the center of our school seal, serves as a reminder that Christ is the center of our faith at Lakeside. Through this faith we return our blessings to continue His work.

As a thank you for your gifts we offer you membership in the Rho Fellowship, a subscription to The Legacy, and also invite you to attend the fellowship events that have been planned for you.

Lakeside is a great place where you not only grow in your faith, but you also make friends who grow in their faith with you. The teachers at Lakeside are always encouraging you to strive to do your best and at the same time they use the Word of God in everyday lessons in their classes. Lakeside is also a great opportunity to excel in the talents that the Lord gave you, whether it is in sports, forensics, band, choir, publications or technology.

Two teachers who inspired me were Pastor Clark and Mrs. Tetzlaff. PC inspired me to put my best foot forward, encouraged me in my faith and to pursue a career in the public ministry. Mrs. T was always there for me; I could go to her and she would just listen no matter what.

She also is the art teacher, so I could express myself in her class.

My future plans include going to MLC and then Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary to finish out my studies to become a pastor.

Spencer, a member of the Lakeside Lutheran class of 2014, is the son of Jonathan and Jeanette Jensen, and a member at St. John in Juneau.

Fellowship A

Members of the Kentro Fellowship have offered a gift, or returned a commitment card, to Lakeside Lutheran High School of $1,000 or more for the year. The Greek word, Kentro, meaning center, leads us to reflect on Christ as the center of our lives. Through Him we receive these blessings, and are encouraged to offer them up to His glory.

Mission Possible... because of you!

The 3rd annual Lakeside Grand Event was held on campus for a sold-out crowd of 265 on Saturday, February 8. Almost 100 LLHS students gave over 325 hours to join with dozens of adult volunteers in making this year’s “Mission Possible”-themed event another resounding success. The students took on a wide variety of jobs, from napkin folding to auction set up & break down, from decorating to serving appetizers (bottom photo below), raffle sales, dinner service and bussing, dishwashing, piano playing (below), jazz banding (bottom left), video promo production, photo booth (top left), hosting check-in/out, and even offering donations such as original artwork, a a wood bench and desserts.

Through a fun and entertaining evening that included silent and live auctions, a dessert auction, 50/50, wine and jewelry raffles, funds raised included $14,200 for Student Tuition Assistance and almost $4,000 toward new convertible tubas for the Warrior Band.

Individual leaves are engraved with individual and family names and shine like the light these donors have provided for the future of our ministry here at Lakeside Lutheran.
