he word PURSUE reminds us that the Christian life is an active journey, not a destination. It calls us to move forward with intention, energy, and focus on what truly matters. At Lakeside Lutheran, this pursuit shapes everything we do. Each day, teachers, coaches, and staff pursue the mission of educating, encouraging, and equipping students to know their Savior, grow in faith, and prepare to serve others with their God-given gifts.

This work is made possible through God’s grace—and through the faithful support of our community. Your prayers, encouragement, and partnership empower us to provide Christ-centered spaces where students thrive spiritually, academically, and personally.

With gratitude, we press on together, pressing toward the eternal goal in Christ Jesus. We celebrate what has been accomplished and look forward with hope and joy to what God will continue to do in the lives of our students and in the mission He has entrusted to Lakeside Lutheran.

Appreciation Night

The Mission Advancement Team annual Appreciation Nite moved to the new south cafeteria for 2025, and along with a beautiful new space, we enjoyed another great turn-out, lots of food and fellowship and game admission! If you joined us, thanks for being a part of the evening. If you missed it, keep us in mind for Friday, August 21, 2026!

(Held on a Friday night of one of the first home football games, invited guests include Rho & Kentro members, Twice is Nice and other volunteers, Lakeside Regents, General Board, pastor and LL staff families.)

Fellowship

Members of the Chi Fellowship, through the fruit of the Holy Spirit, have provided a single gift of less than $1,000 during the last year to Lakeside Lutheran High School. With the Greek letter Chi so evident in our churches and schools, your association with this fellowship is a reminder of God’s love, and every gift is significant to Lakeside.

Amanda Hoeppner It’s been 20 years since I graduated with the class of 2005. I am grateful and excited to return, especially to step into the role that my own art teacher, Lori Tetzlaff, once held. It’s an honor to help guide the next generation, just as Lakeside once guided me.

Lakeside gave me the tools I needed to go out into the world: I left here ready for a D1 college experience, and I was able to thrive as a scholarathlete and earn my teaching degree. The foundation I gained here— academically, spiritually, and emotionally—set me up to succeed far beyond high school and my hometown. Now after all these years, coming back feels like coming home in every sense of the word.

This school truly is a family—a loving, supportive community that welcomed me with open arms both as a student and again now, years later, as a teacher.

Walking these halls and seeing both familiar and new faces is surreal and deeply meaningful to work alongside mentors who have become peers ... still learning from the teachers who shaped me. Thank you for making this such a special place—for me, and for every student who walks through these doors.

Here’s to Creativity, Homecomings, and God’s Continuous Blessings!

Rho

Fellowship

Members of the Rho Fellowship, with the Lord’s guidance, have provided multiple gifts totaling less than $1,000 within the last year to Lakeside Lutheran High School. The Greek letters Rho and Chi form the symbol for Christ. This symbol, displayed in the center of our school seal, serves as a reminder that Christ is the center of our faith at Lakeside. Through this faith we return our blessings to continue His work.

As a thank you for your gifts we offer you membership in the Rho Fellowship, a subscription to The Legacy and also invite you to attend the fellowship events that have been planned for you.

Nick Trebesch If I was to describe Lakeside in one word, it would be family. If you ever sit in my classroom, you will hear the phrase “brothers and sisters” often. If you listen closely to one of my chapel messages, you will hear the phrase “brothers and sisters” throughout the devotion. At Lakeside, I am beyond blessed to serve alongside such a talented and dedicated team of brothers and sisters on the faculty and staff. I am beyond blessed to daily have the chance to serve respectful and mostly motivated brothers and sisters in the classroom by sharing my faith in Christ and how the love of Christ transforms everything in my life.

There are not too many careers that allow you to actively grow in your faith while on the jobsite, but I get to be encouraged and built up by these fellow servants every day. Of course, there is also the added benefit of sharing my knowledge about a subject I am passionate about. Whether it is being there for a student before school that needs a little extra help, asking them about life outside of school during passing time, or building bonds on the baseball diamond, I treasure the opportunities to connect with these young people and am making some wonderful memories in the process.

Over the course of his teaching tenure at Luther Prep, Evergreen Lutheran High School and LLHS, Nick has taught AP Calculus, AP Stats, Biology, World History, and various other math and religion courses. He currently teaches Algebra, Geometry and AP Stats (in the classroom, below) and coaches JV baseball and the math teams.

He and Nicole have been married 12 years and are blessed with a son, Logan, and two daughters, Emily and Charlie. They live in Watertown. Below, they enjoyed their first family road trip to Indiana and Kentucky.

Fellowship

Members of the Kentro Fellowship have offered a gift or returned a commitment card to Lakeside Lutheran High School of $1,000 or more for the year. The Greek word, Kentro, meaning center, leads us to reflect on Christ as the center of our lives. Through Him we receive these blessings and are encouraged to offer them up to His glory.

Giving Tuesday

Together we give, Together we share JESUS! The 2025 GT focus was Operation GO mission trips, and we have you to thank for making this program the success that it has been for 11 years!

We raised $13,220, including a $1,315.26 dollarfor-dollar match for student donations!

2026 OpGo teams & trips were announced right before Thanksgiving.

30 teens will be going to 4 locations next summer:

Your generous donations help keep this gospel-centered student activity affordable for all students to apply to participate. Your gift also indirectly benefits the churches and organizations at the center of OpGo trips by making outreach activities feasible and affordable when LLHS provides so much people power for their efforts and events.

Located in the lobby of the east school entrance, our Leaves of Legacy tree is a symbol of deep roots bearing much fruit for the future, a recognition of support for quality Christ-centered education.

Individual leaves are engraved with individual and family names and shine like the light these donors have provided for the future of our ministry here at Lakeside Lutheran.

We give thanks to God for those who share our vision and have left a legacy to Lakeside, including those from Leonard and Irene Heiliger.
