Your Talent Advantage
... focus on how you can serve God with your gifts
Christ in Everything — and we mean everything!

A message from who appreciates all kinds of gifts and abilities. He liked this cross made by welding students so much he bought it to hang in his own home!

Who are Bezalel and Oholiab? If you have never heard of them before, that’s OK. I’ll help you out. God had given these Old Testament people amazing gifts which helped to advance God’s plan for the world. Bezalel was a genius craftsman, the guy who had the ability and talent to build a home for God. He and Oholiab and others built the Tabernacle!
Now they may not be as well known as some of the other names in the Bible, such as Samson and his tremendous athletic strength, or Solomon’s wisdom, or King David’s battle warrior skills.
But God had a special use for the gifts of Kenaniah, Bezalel and Oholiab, and not just theirs, but those of many others throughout the Bible:
Bezalel and Oholiab had tons of artistic skills. (See Exodus 31.)
Moses and Nathan were known for their speaking skills.
Ruth showed unmatched loyalty and kindness
King David also had incredible musical skills. In fact, he played the harp so well it would soothe King Saul (1 Samuel 16), and he wrote a bunch of the Psalms!
Kenaniah (1 Chronicles 15) and Miriam, Moses’ sister (Exodus 15), had great singing skills.
Abigail displayed incredible wisdom and compassion (1 Samuel 25)..
God also blesses people today with a variety of gifts and skills that can be used in his earthly kingdom. Here at Lakeside Lutheran High School, we not only develop academic and athletic skills in our students, but we also focus on artistic skills like singing, instrument playing, artwork, welding, and speaking, and we encourage wisdom, kindness and compassion in activities like Cultural Awareness Club, Teens for Christ or Operation Go mission trips.
These are all skills that God uses today in continuing to spread his great news of Jesus and his love for us. May God continue to bless our students in using their wide variety of gifts and abilities in His service!

A Diverse Advantage
...focus on celebrating our differences
Christ in Everything— learning as we celebrate "Us!"
Have you heard? With higher enrollment comes the blessing of more diversity, in backgrounds as well as in interests among our students. The Warrior fam looks forward to seeing the fruits and fun of new cocurriculars, including an Art Club, Board Game Club (yr 2), Crocheting & Knitting Club, Equestrian team, a Trap Shooting team (yr 2) & a WIAA Girls Wrestling team.
Another club that's in its 4th year is our Cultural Awareness Club, a student-initiated group with a goal to educate our student body when it comes to the various cultures represented in our hallways, and to promote celebration of diversity and unity. Spanish teacher, Mr. Matthew Schreiber, is also the new advisor this year. Your family is warmly invited to our first event of the year.

Our Family Advantage

Maybe you've seen it This. Is. Lakeside. associated with stories on our social media platforms or our WarriorStories blog features.
"This is Lakeside" is meant to give glory to God through demonstrations of his love—the kind of love that is so often seen in the love of a family. It's the spirit of unity, of knowing it's better together. It's reveling in the love that Jesus shows us every day, his love that makes us proud to show the world the blessings that we have, that we eagerly share.
The art that's in the new cafeteria has something new to see no matter how often you stop in, but every time you do, we hope the first thing you see is Jesus! Look for your strand(s) when you're on campus!
Of the 64 bead strands groups supplied for the finished art display, 29 were strands completed

Students from CLCA, where Wes’ sister Haylee is a student, cheered on the Warriors as they competed at the WIAA state tournament in March 2024.

Christ in

Everything it's why This. Is. Lakeside.
Our new "Caf South" now features—along with a fantastic amount of sunshine— an original work of art, conceived and installed by Warrior mom and professional artist, Becky Weidner (see photo and caption below).
Many of us may recognize bead strands contributed by our churches, schools and groups when we stop in this new area for tournaments, festivals and other events—and we hope you do! Others will notice that the frame is wood from the west gym bleachers before its 2021 remodel. Becky made and fired the ceramic elements in her Columbus art studio and workshop.
To complement the art, she provided an "artist's statement" that gives terrific context to the goals and motivation behind this project. She shares, "the rings are like all of us who are connected to Lakeside. They are made of different clays and glazes just like we are all different. But we're all connected together in Christ. I wanted to represent all of these different groups and people who support and are touched by Lakeside."
Thank you to all who had a hand in making this come to fruition. Come visit us to see it. To God be the glory!

"It was an exciting year [2017] to win a State Championship in volleyball. What was even better than that gold ball was the team telling the reporters afterwards that, while this victory sure was that has already been won for us!"
