You have a choice when it comes to high schools. Why choose Lakeside? Because we offer advantages—for now and for the future. In a recent issue, we introduced the five core values of your Lakeside Lutheran—Christ in Everything, Excellence, Servant Leadership, Family, and Accountability. Now we’re digging a little deeper into each.

What does “Excellence” mean?

Excellence in every effort that gives the glory to God.

Our qualified Christian faculty, along with a rigorous curriculum and expansive cocurricular opportunities, educate and equip students in both breadth and depth— breadth in knowledge and experiences that promote lifelong success, and depth in areas that inspire individual student pursuits of further education, useful vocations or personal goals in math, art, technology, sciences, STEM, consumer economics, language, social studies, ministry. Our students consistently score higher on standardized tests, keeping us in the top 1% of the state when it comes to college-prep ACT test scores. We also have successful apprenticeships that will help supply skilled hands and active minds for industry needs in trades and agriculture.

Co-curriculars, whether in athletics, fine arts, or competitive academic pursuits such as math or forensics teams, do not focus on winning above all, but excellence above all that glorifies the Father of lights; this focus is often rewarded with awards and achievements at local, conference, regional, state and even national levels.
