Serving the students and parents at Lakeside, watching students grow academically and spiritually, and working side by side with fun, dedicated teachers and staff has been a joy. I have had the privilege to serve my Lord and this Federation for 28 years, 25 of them as director of the A Cappella Choir.

Taking A Cappella to the federated churches, having the opportunity to connect with church members, connecting with the elementary school children by having them join the A Cappella Choir in singing an anthem … these experiences were so faith-strengthening for me. I pray that these experiences were spiritually uplifting for the congregation members and for the choir members as well.

Will I miss it? Absolutely! I love working with these high school students, but it’s time to close the door on 48 years of the teaching ministry. Our Federation is blessed to have Steven Springborn, a very musically-gifted man, joining the faculty next fall. Please welcome him and be as supportive of him as you have been of me.

May our Lord Jesus continue to bless Lakeside and all of you.

Jim and Lorraine are members at Immanuel, Farmington.

Mr. Buege joined the Lakeside Lutheran faculty in 1994.

Jim enjoyed joining in school spirit activities, here twinning with fellow teacher, Todd Hackbarth.

Lifelong memories were made during countless choir outings and trips, including this spring tour to Arizona in 2017 (pictured with chaperoning parents).

At the 2015 Commencement Concert (right), Mr. Buege was gifted some favorite Brewer items to mark his 40th year in the public ministry (his 21st with LLHS).
