Fed eration Connection It’s a promise worth repeating The world is changing.

There is a new world order. Technology rapidly advances every day. Certainly, what and how the world thinks continually changes­—not always for the better. To paraphrase Shakespeare, “What’s fair [has become] foul and [what is] foul [has become] fair” (Macbeth, Act 1, Scene 1).

In an ever-changing world, Christians find true comfort and peace in the words of the writer to the Hebrews: “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever” (13:8). Christ never changes. His Word remains the same. Its proclamation of what is godly and ungodly remains the same. His love for humankind remains the same. His forgiveness of sin and his promise of eternal life to all who believe remains the same.

Truly, Jesus and all that he says remains the same!

The world is changing—more often than not, not for the better.

What comfort it is for us to know and believe that “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday

and today and forever.”

faculty news and notes: Help us welcome new faculty faces to your Lakeside!

Each new school year brings in changes of some degree, and 2015–16 is no exception.

Please introduce yourself to these faces when you see them at school, at events or around the federation!

Mr. Kirk DeNoyer A 1986 graduate of Northwestern Prep and a 1991 graduate of Wisconsin Lutheran College, DeNoyer began his teaching ministry at Wisconsin Lutheran High School as a math teacher and assistant coach in football and basketball.

He served at Wisco for 24 years, including as Director of Enrollment and Assistant Principal, as well as head football coach for 20 years.

He says, “I am looking forward to my first year at Lakeside, where I will be Director of Activities and teach freshman PhyEd. Karen and I have 4 children, three currently in college and the youngest is a senior here at Lakeside.” After they’re able to move in to their house in town, they plan to attend St. Paul in Lake Mills.

Mr. Cameron Ausen The Lord led Mr. Ausen to accept the call to Lakeside just this summer after Mr. Klug left to serve as principal at Evergreen Lutheran High School. He will teach several computer courses in addition to serving as Technology

Director. He was born and raised in Waukesha, attended Trinity Lutheran School from K-8 and graduated from Wisco in 2002.

I earned my Bachelor’s from WLC in 2007.

He has served at St. John Lutheran School in Milwaukee as an upper grades teacher and coach for track and field. He has also worked in the business world as the community outreach director for a local specialty retailer.

He married Katie (nee Braun, a music teacher at the Milwaukee Montessori School) in 2007.

Outside of school, he enjoys competitive distance running, golf, and spending time in the northwoods with family and two miniature dachshunds. He and Katie are member at St. John, Milwaukee.

“It is with great joy that I am back in the classroom working with God’s children,” Mr. Ausen shares.

Pastor Christopher Koschnitzke Pastor K grew up in Lannon, a suburb of Milwaukee and is another Wisco grad (‘98). He graduated Martin Luther College in ‘03 and our Seminary in ‘07. He vicared at Redeemer Lutheran in Rice Lake, and was assigned as pastor at Christus Lutheran Church in Delavan. In early 2015 he accepted a call to St. John “Newville.” In addition to being on the Board of Regents, he will be teaching Old Testament to freshmen this year.

In 2003 he married Erin (Enter) Five of their six children attend St. Paul Lutheran School in Lake Mills.

Pastor K says, “I look forward to serving my Lord and Lakeside this school year!”

student news and notes: OperationGo: inaugural year a God-glorifyng success

Teams Louisville (at Hope Lutheran) helped canvass the community with the Gospel, and a second team of helped with Summer Bible Camp.

Team Canada (Cross of Life, Mississauga, Ontario), among other activities, assisted with an outreach soccer camp for community youth.

#warriorsgo mission trips: shining their lights to the world Back in March, we invited our Federation members to pray for a smooth and successful first year for the new Lakeside Lutheran initiative we call OperationGo. Thank you! Pastors Caleb Davisson and Clark Schultz worked with WELS Kingdom Workers to specify three unique locations and four different student trips that would help Warrior teens who wanted to “GO” with the Gospel. With the adult assistance of teachers Davisson, Nathan Koerber and varsity volleyball coach Jenny Krauklis, 15 Warriors headed out to Toronto, to Jersey and to Louisville to help with canvassing and camps and VBS. Of course, they were able to see the sights and beauty of creation on the way, which made these mission trips a sweet lifetime memory for all involved.

Coach Krauklis shared a prayer on social media that helps capture the purpose and the goal of all our Warriors who walked and taught and crafted and refereed for the Gospel: “we pray that these children (most of them non-members) remember that God has power, that they are precious to him, that they remember that God’s Word is most important, that God wants them to be saved and most of all, we pray that this little faith grows and grows so even though we may not see them again on earth, we will in heaven.” (Search on

Team Jersey (at Immanuel Lutheran in Long Valley, near NYC) helped canvass the community to share the message of Christ-crucified with children through an invitation to VBS; the girls also helped run the summer school session.
