LLANRWST FC HISTORY
Llanrwst United was formed in 1983 following the amalgamation of two clubs in the town, Llanrwst Town and Llanrwst Athletic. The club plays at the picturesque setting of Gwydir Park, were football has been enjoyed for over a hundred years. Working together with the strong Junior football section in the town - which has teams playing from the Under 8’s up to senior level, we see many players making their way to the first team and beyond to a higher standard. Since winning the Gwynedd League in Season 2003-2004, we have been a competitive side in the Welsh Alliance League. We’ve also had a strong Reserve side over the years to help the first team’s success. During the last few years, our hard working committee have been busy with improving our ground and facilities to meet the new ‘Tier 3’ ground criteria. They include 100 seats in a covered stand and improvements to the pitch drainage system. We were successful in our application to become one of the founder members of the Ardal Northern West League.
