WelshpianistLlŷrWilliamsiswidelyadmiredforhisprofoundmusicalintelligence,andfortheexpressive andcommunicativenatureofhisinterpretations.HehasperformedwithallthemajorUKorchestrasunder conductorsincludingMichaelTilsonThomas,JiříBělohlávek,CarloRizzi,VasilyPetrenko,JaimeMartín, OsmoVänskä,JosephSwensen,GrantLlewellynandJacVanSteen;hehasaparticularlylongstanding relationshipwiththeBBCNationalOrchestraofWales,withwhichhehasinrecentseasonsperformed concertosrangingfromMozartandBeethoventoBartókandMathias.

Asarecitalist,LlŷrWilliamsregularlyperformsatvenuesandfestivalsincludingWigmoreHall,PerthConcert Hall,theStDavidʼsandDoraStoutzkerHallsinCardiff,andtheEdinburghandEastNeukFestivals.Hislong associationwiththeRoyalWelshCollegeofMusicandDramahasincludedacclaimedmulti-recitalcyclesof Beethoven,Schubert,andChopin.2023-24sawreturnstotheFestivalCulturaldeMayoinGuadalajarafora completeBeethovenSonatacycle,theCapitalRegionClassicalseriesinSchenectady,USA,andSalle BourgieinMontreal,aswellashisdebutattheʻLePianoSymphoniqueʼfestivalinLucerne.

WewelcomeLlŷrtotheCathedralforaprogrammeofsomeofthegreatestcomposersforpianofromHaydn andBeethoventoDebussyandLiszt.

TheFestivalishonouredtowelcomeMared EmyrPugh–Evans,harpisttoHisMajestythe Kingforalunchtimerecital.Maredisan internationalprize-winningharpistfromBorth, inmid-westWales.Herprogrammewillinclude: MarcelGrandjanyʼsRhapsodi,GarethGlynʼs ErddiganandWilliamMathiasʼsSantaFeSuite.

MaredEmyrPugh-Evansisaninternational prize-winningharpistfromBorth,inmid-west Wales.ShegainedherMA(Performance)degree fromtheRoyalAcademyofMusicin2022,where shestudiedunderKarenVaughan.Shealso achievedherLRAMwhilststudyingforherfinal yearandreceivedaDipRAMcertificateforher FinalPerformance.Shegraduatedfrom RWCMD,Cardiffin2020withaFirst-Class (Honours)BachelorofMusicdegreeandalso achievedherDipABRSM(Instrumental Teaching)certificateandwasawardedthe2020 RWCMDRoyalWelchFusiliersAwardandthe FlorenceMaryProctorScholarship.Maredis honouredtohavebeenappointedHarpistto HisMajestyTheKingintheSummerof2024, withherfirstofficialengagementhappeninga fewweekslatercelebrating25yearsofYSenedd inCardiff.

Aregularrecitalistonboththenationaland internationalstage,Maredhaswonnumerous awardsforherplayingincluding6thPlace HarpMastersPrizeattheUSAInternationalHarp Competition,Bloomingtonin2022andWinner ofthe2020SirIanStoutzkerPrizeforthemost outstandingmusicianatRWCMD.

AftergraduatingfromRAM,shewasselectedas anOpenAcademyFellow,theAcademyʼs CommunityandParticipationdepartment, whereherpassionforthisfieldofwork blossomed.SheisproudtonotonlybeaLive MusicNowmusicianbutalsoamusicianfor WigmoreHallʼscommunityandparticipation department:MusicforLife.

Mostrecentlyshewasguestsoloistwiththe RoyalPhilharmonicConcertOrchestraunder thebatonofcomposerPatrickHawesfora performanceofhisHighgroveSuitetoasell-out audienceatNorwichCathedral.

In2023,RoyalWelshCollegeofMusicoperaschoolgraduate,JessicaRobinsonbecamethefirst WelshfinalistofBBCCardiffSingeroftheWorldin20years.

AswellasheroperaticperformanceswithWNOandLongboroughFestivalOperaamongothers, sheisaregularsoloistinoratorioandconcertperformancesaroundtheUKandhasperformed aroundtheworld.ShealsoworkswiththeForget-me-Notchorus,supportingpeoplewith dementia.

CôrCF1isoneofWales'mostsuccessfulchoirs.Thechoir'sachievementsincludenumerous awardsatnationalandinternationalcompetitionsandsingingwithworld-renownedartists.The choirhasalsoperformedinsomeofthemostmagnificentvenuesintheworldincludingTrinity ChurchNewYork,KölnCathedralinGermanyandSt.MarkʼsBasilicainVenice.

Sinceitsinceptionin2002,underthemusicaldirectionofEilirOwenGriffiths,CF1hasevolved fromayouthchoirtooneofWales'leadingmixedchoirs.TheirsuccessesincludewinningtheBBC ChoiroftheYearin2014,firstprizeattheDerryChoralFestivalin2018andfirstprizeinthemixed choircompetitionattheLlangollenInternationalEisteddfod.Inaddition,thechoirhaswonthe mixedchoirscategoryintheCôrCymrucompetitiontwice,andthemixedchoircompetitionatthe NationalEisteddfodthreetimes.Also,CF1wascrownedfestivalchoiratthe2019Llanrwst NationalEisteddfod.

BornintothebackstreetsofGeorgianLondon,250yearsagothisyear,JosephMilordWilliam TurnerʼsprodigiousartistictalentwouldseehimrisetothegreatestheightsoftheBritishart establishmentandseehimtravelacrossEurope,fromWalestoRome.Throughhispaintingshe wouldredefinehowweseeourownlandscape,andrecordtheextraordinarychangesintechnology andculturethattheVictorianagewouldbring.

ThisshortlecturewillexploreTurnerʼslifeandtimes,followinginhisfootstepsfromhisearliest watercolourstothesublimeoilpaintingswhicharestilltodaycelebratedasthenationʼsfavourite artworks.

FollowingacclaimedperformancesaroundtheUK,EverythingUnderTheSuncelebratethe50th anniversaryofPinkFloydʼsWishYouWereHereatLlandaffCathedralinaconcertfeaturingthe Cathedralʼsmagnificentpipeorgan.

EverythingUnderTheSunisn'tatributebandbutcombinesthegrandeurofhistoricpipeorgans withtherawenergyofarockband,creatingaone-of-a-kindliveexperienceinamazingbuildings. AeverythingUndertheSunisacollectiveofmusicianswhocametogetherinearly2023to celebratethe50thanniversaryofPinkFloydʼslegendaryTheDarkSideoftheMoonwithwhat wasexpectedtobeaone-offconcertinStMaryʼschurch,WarwickinMarch2023,usingthe churchʼspipeorganaspartoftheseven-pieceband.Ayearlater,theysoldoutCoventry Cathedral.Theirlatestshowcelebratesthe50thAnniversaryofPinkFloydʼsiconicalbum,Wish YouWereHere,andfeaturestheCathedralʼsiconicorganaspartoftheband,alongwith synchronisedlasersandvideocontent.
