Our Student Advice and Wellbeing team can give you advice and guidance on everything from accommodation, money management, mental health and wellbeing and support for disabled students. The University can also advise you about your eligibility for student funding, such as grants, loans, childcare and bursaries. n Workshops, projects and activities designed to improve your wellbeing and enable you to have a better student experience n A spiritual support team to provide confi dential pastoral care and support to students of all beliefs and backgrounds n A dedicated Student Wellbeing team to help with any issues you’re having at university and to direct you to further support n As an LJMU student you can access a range of free online support tools such as SilverCloud and Togetherall that will help you manage your wellbeing 24/7 n Quiet spaces for meditation, prayer and contemplation on every campus n Targeted support for care leavers, estranged students and young adult carers n A dedicated disability advice team

It’s totally normal to feel slightly worried or overwhelmed about starting university, so it’s important to remember that you are not on your own at LJMU. There is a range of support in place to help you get the best start.

SETTLING IN

MENTORS

Each Hall has a dedicated accommodation mentor. They are the fi rst point of contact for new students living and settling into LJMU partner accommodation.

ADVICE

If you have any concerns then our accommodation advice team are here for you. They can provide support with settling in and adjusting to life in Halls.

ACTIVITIES

We run a programme of events to support you settling into university life. This can be a useful way to meet people, share experiences and learn new skills such as cooking meals on a budget and self-care tips.

Student support at LJMU has been really helpful. Something that feels like a big problem really isn’t when you sit down and talk it through. The staff make you feel so comfortable and really listen, and you can honestly talk to them about anything, they are more than happy to spend the time talking to you.
