It is with great joy that I share La Jolla Music Society’s 57th Winter Season—our seventh in the extraordinary home we’ve built together at The Conrad Prebys Performing Arts Center.
Each season is a labor of love. Behind every performance is a dedicated team driven by a shared passion: to bring world-class artistry to our stages and create meaningful experiences for our community. Whether it’s a legendary string quartet in The Baker-Baum Concert Hall or a bold jazz innovator lighting up The JAI, our programming reflects a deep commitment to excellence and a belief in the power of diverse voices and stories.
We open with brilliance—two performances by the incomparable pianist Daniil Trifonov, whose playing has been hailed as both transcendent and visceral. We are also honored to welcome two powerhouse artists in one of our most special recent initiatives, Connect to The Conrad. In this program the world’s most celebrated artists—those who typically perform for thousands—mesmerize audiences in the intimate, acoustically exquisite Baker-Baum Concert Hall.
This year we are delighted to bring you superstar Peruvian tenor Juan Diego Flórez, whose vocal agility and emotional depth captivate audiences worldwide, and five-time GRAMMY® winner Angélique Kidjo, a global icon whose music and message are a force for good.
Our Dance Series brings the spellbinding artistry of France’s Ballet Preljocaj, known for its ingenuity and choreography that stirs both the senses and the soul. And in the Jazz Series, we proudly present a special week-long festival celebrating the centennials of John Coltrane and Miles Davis—featuring Terence Blanchard, Ravi Coltrane, Joe Lovano, Emmet Cohen, Melissa Aldana, and more.
Whether you are new to The Conrad or have been with us for years, we hope you feel a sense of belonging. This is more than a concert hall—it is a gathering place for those who believe in the power of the arts to move, inspire, and unite us. Every detail of this season has been thoughtfully curated with that spirit at heart.
Warmly,
LEAH ROSENTHAL Artistic Director
