The little fox & the lost boy Once upon a time, in a magical forest, there lived a curious little fox. One day, the fox found a mysterious note under an old oak tree. The note read:

“Guide the lost one, for in his goodness lies the future of all.”

The little fox was puzzled but felt a strong sense of purpose.

Who was this “lost one,” and how could he guide them?

Determined to solve the mystery, the little fox wandered the forest until he found a little boy sitting alone, looking lost and afraid.

The little fox realized this boy must be the “lost one.”

But how could a fox teach a boy to be good? Unsure where to start, the little fox decided to seek the wisdom of his animal friends.

KINDNESS FROM THE DEER

In a peaceful meadow, the little fox and the lost boy met a gentle deer grazing with her fawn.

“Good humans are kind,” the deer said, nuzzling her fawn. “Kindness is shown through the little things—like sharing, helping, and caring for others.”

The boy watched as the deer shared her food with a family of rabbits nearby. Inspired, the boy picked some berries and gave them to the rabbits.

The deer smiled warmly at the boy, and the little fox felt a flicker of hope.

Marine Mammal Care Center Los Angeles 3601 S. Walk-ins are limited and are dependent on capacity. Round out your oceanthemed day with a trip to Cabrillo Marine Aquarium, just five minutes away!

Public hours and private tours are offered during fall and spring semesters (mid-February through May and September through mid-December). Tours highlight different habitats and may include short feeding demos. The aquarium is located in the Lewis Center for Applied Science near the library and the OCC Planetarium, which also features public shows and activities.

COMPASSION with the bear

Next, the little fox took the boy to the riverbank, where they found a bear struggling to catch fish in a swift river. After catching enough for his family, the bear shared with a nearby otter family in need.

“Good humans are compassionate,” said the bear. “They help others, even when it’s hard.”

Inspired, the boy helped a fish stuck in the reeds, and it swam away happily, filling the boy with warmth.

Guided tours of the 200-inch (5.1-meter) Hale Telescope will be offered weekends. There is no viewing through the telescope on guided tours.

In the winter months, the Observatory is occasionally closed to the public due to severe weather and/or dangerous conditions. Visitors are encouraged to check the website or call the information number before departing to Palomar.
