Five stunning seniors. Three days in the Big Apple. One opportunity of a lifetime. We are just days away from confirming the big reveal, the Marketing team has narrowed down five finalists to fly to New York City for a photo shoot with Cady Studios and will be making in-person announcements to the students within the week. Over 400 seniors from the southeast photographed in Elite sessions throughout the course of the summer were entered for the chance to be an NYC model in October. Of the 400, three of our Florida seniors and two from Georgia will be photographed in iconic New York locations, styled in the latest fashion trends and given an experience they will never forget. UPCOMING: Meet the Finalists
Each school year, the Photography team travels to various schools throughout the southeast to photograph Premier Athletic Events, showcasing a more creative approach to team sports and organizations. Often times Premier photoshoots are the most fun for photographers. "It's so easy to make the athletes look good with the lighting we take to these shoots," Francisco Morales stated. "We have a more artistic approach and creative freedom to do what we want as opposed to the standard, traditional poses in Premier events," said the Athletics Manager. Tony, our Director of Photography, also mentioned how fun it can be working with coaches and athletes when both parties are super involved. The number of schools scheduling Premier shoots continue to grow and the photos continue to get better and better. UPCOMING: Marketing team to attend Meadowcreek Photoshoot 08/20
The Cady Marketing team started the month of August off with a Fast Twitch class at Ponce City Market in Atlanta, Georgia. This hour long, team building event combined weight training and cardio interval circuits and Marketing was not in any way prepared for the level of difficulty they had signed up for. Cady Studios members are encouraged to drop into the Atlanta branch to attend a Fast Twitch class through the Industrious office.
The Customer Service team gathered together for a working lunch in Lake City, Florida this past week to kick off the busy season for the Cady Kids, Underclass and Athletic product lines. Old and new team members took this time to meet and train on the upcoming fall launches over jambalaya, chicken wrapped bacon and macaroni & cheese. "We wanted our reps to mingle, enjoy a meal together, inspire teamwork and cohesiveness," said John McCarthy, Director of Customer Experience. As students across the southeast return to school, the team will soon return to helping customers in the Georgia and Florida regions with their needs.
IN OTHER NEWS: The Cady Sales team continues to experience exciting growth within the department as three of our members were recently retitled as Business Development Representatives. Although this title may be new, it plays an all too familiar and vital role in the expansion of our company. As Business Development Representatives, Eddie Ortiz, Larry Mayo, and Luke Fahringer will be the first to seek out new schools, make a Cady Studios first impression and win new business. Once those goals are reached, one of our Account Managers will maintain the relationship. With our new representatives’ passion and work ethic, our company message will reach new business each day.

Recently, Jenn Weith and Luke Fahringer took time out of their very busy schedules to give an update on the status of Cady Kids Chicago. Both are extremely excited for the quickly growing product line, noting the dozens of schools that have signed with Cady Studios. "The photographers work extremely hard, waking up and getting out very early in the morning with all the equipment to multiple schools in the area," Jenn said. "Not to mention the Sales Reps constantly on the go in the area." Thank you for all the hard work our Sales Reps and photographers do each day- not only Illinois but in our Florida and Georgia locations as well.

In August, the Marketing team attended Meadowcreek High School's Premier athletic event where they were given a first-hand look at all the hard work the Cady photographers put into each day.
Like many Saturdays throughout the school year, photographers Francisco, Josh and Silas arrived before dawn to set-up for multiple teams that weekend. Despite the heat and rain that the Southeast brings, the talented Cady photographers still manage to make all Premier images look straight out of a magazine.

Five strangers met on Friday in New York City. Two days later five friends departed home with a lifetime of memories. “Meeting everyone was my favorite part of the trip,” Reagan Reynolds stated. The Oakleaf High School Senior was one of five students selected for the Cady Studios ELITE New York trip earlier this month. “We had an immediate bond the moment we all got together,” she said. Waking up early to arrive at the styling studio at 5am the morning of October 15 didn’t deter the buzz of excitement that followed on Saturday morning as the seniors and their parents prepared for the shoot starting at Rockefeller Center. From Midtown Manhattan to Central Park and Times Square, the group had, "Felt like celebrities all day," said Jennifer DiLoreto. "When we were finishing the shoot at Times Square, there were so many people that kept trying to take pictures of us and asked if we were famous. I've never been to New York before, and nothing will top that experience!" As the Marketing, Photography and Quality Assurance teams are still recovering from all their hard work implemented over two short days, we thank you for developing and producing such an unforgettable experience.

Cady Studios is partnering with Mandarin High School for the third annual Dreams Come True Tip-Off Classic this November in efforts to raise money for children with life-threatening diseases. The basketball tournament, set to begin Tuesday, November 15 through Wednesday, November 16, will bring four Duval County schools together to send Dreamer MiKale Smith and his family on an all-expense paid trip to Disney World in Orlando, Florida in celebration of Smith’s third birthday and remission of his illness. On October 22, the Cady photography team spent their morning at Mandarin High School where players and cheerleaders from Ed White High School, Robert E. Lee, Westside and Mandarin High School were photographed with Smith for tournament promotional materials brought to you by School Culture Manager, Mathias Johannson. The Duval County Schools collaborated with Dreams Come True in 2013 in hopes to bring unity between the Jacksonville area communities and give student-athletes an opportunity to be more involved.

The Sales and Marketing teams joined forces for a focus group feedback session on Monday, February 6 to continue research for the upcoming Cady Kids 2017-2018 school year. Late last month, 12 Bascomb Elementary students were photographed for a simulated fall picture day. Following the timeline of pictures sent home in 21 days or less, the parents received their child's pictures the night of the focus group and discussed open-ended questions about the picture day process. Doing so provides better insight into communication between Cady Studios and parents and schools. The Marketing team will work to host more feedback sessions per product line to develop better materials for all Cady departments.
Harlan Merhige Underclass Photography
"I thrive on challenge and opportunity." After spending 18 years in the school photography business, Harlan Merhige left the industry on a three-year hiatus to continue managing his own business in Tampa, Florida. When Cady Studios approached him with the possibility of coming aboard, he wasn't sold on the idea. "Honestly, I thought my time with school photography was done," Merhige stated. "But when I sat down with TJ I was immediately drawn to the energy and enthusiasm Cady Studios offered. I couldn't turn it down." Merhige will work to develop product line training materials and guidelines for the photography team while providing photographers the proper tools for success at

Say you have a Cady shirt on while you're out in public and people ask if that's where you work. I want that response to be one that's happy with the work the photographers do at Cady." Merhige is based in Florida and will work alongside Tony Skowron to bring Cady Studios its best photography yet. Welcome to the team, Harlan!

As a school photography company, often the reward of a job well-done lies in winning a new school, making a sale or producing an item on time for a customer. When the customer publicly thanks Cady for a job well done, we have to share. Within the past few weeks, we've received thank you's across the region from Milton and Dunwoody High School in Georgia heard awesome feedback from Allen D. Nease High School in Ponte Vedra, FL. We appreciate those of you working hard to take projects from start to finish and continuing to keep our schools, parents and students happy.
