With great anticipation, we invite you to the 3rd Annual Transcon Northern Connection Simmental Bull Sale! Join us for a traditional Ukrainian lunch at the St. Paul Ag Corral before the sale begins.
As numbers continue to grow, this sale has emerged as an outstanding late-season option to satisfy all your herdbull needs. The quality keeps improving as these progressive breeders advance their respective breeding programs.
We toured all the bulls in January, and believe this is our strongest set of bulls to date. There will be bulls representing every segment of the Simmental breed, by color. You’ll find calving ease heifer bulls and power bulls to meet the demands of even the most discerning cattlemen.
Mark Northern Connection high on your list of sales to attend, and we hope to see you in St. Paul!
If you are unable to attend, please give any of the Transcon team a call.
Warm regards,
Glenn Norton

Welcome everyone to the 3rd edition of the Northern Connection bull sale. This event has become one of the highlights of our year, by sharing our breeding program and optimistic vision for your evaluation. Thank you to all of consignors for upping the ante bigtime each year and building a strong reputation venue, we are grateful to be involved in. At this time, I’d also like to thank my family for all the help over the year; my parents, my brother and his family, and also Megan for putting up with the business of the cattle. Thank you to Dan and Karen Skeels for the opportunity to expand our program to better serve our customers. The addition of an elite group of proven females from Anchor D, positions us for continued strong production. Truly some of the great breeders and people in the business.
Development: Slow and easy. The bulls will go out and last! Extending the turnover of bulls is key in our efforts to provide long term return on investment. DNA: All bulls have been tested for Dilution status and Polled when applicable. Unfortunately, results weren’t complete at the time of press. They will be available by sale time for your selection decisions.
Most importantly, THANK YOU to all past bidders and buyers of our seedstock. It is truly a privilege to work together. We look forward to shaking your hand and seeing you, April 1st in St. Paul.
Respectfully, excitedly, and humbly, Winston Ford

Welcome to the 3rd annual Northern Connection Bull Sale! We want to start by thanking the Transcon Team for their hard work putting this sale together. Thank you to all of our buyers and bidders in 2024 for putting your trust in our program! Thank you to McEwen’s Fuels and Fertilizers in Stony Plain and Masterfeeds for working with us to ensure our bulls always have great feed. Last but not least thank you to our great vets at Barr-North Veterinary Services and MorEnergy Veterinary Services that work with us to keep our herd healthy!
This year we will have 6 yearling bulls available, as well as 2 two year olds. With some pretty exciting bulls coming off our new herd sire TSF Kruz 102J. Our 2 year olds are April born, and have been developed slowly, having not received pellets until September of 2024. These guys will go to pasture, cover plenty of cows and look just as good when they come back in.
All of our bulls are on free choice hay and are being supplemented with the Masterfeeds show stopper pelleted ration line.
All bulls were weighed at birth on a digital scale. Yearling bulls were weaned September 14, 2024. All bulls have been 100K DNA tested for colour and Poll results, as well as sire verification.
Our bulls have been given, First Defense Dual Shield, Inforce 3, Vit A & D and Selenium at birth. Followed by Ultra Choice 8 and Bovi Shield Gold 1 Shot and Pour on Ivomectin as well as Cylence. Their performance evaluations were done by Barr-North Veterinary Services on March 4th, where they also received Fusogard and Ultra Choice 8. If you have any questions please reach out, keep an eye on our Facebook page for updates prior to the sale. Thank you,
Sarah & Lane
HETERO POLLED, RED CARRIER, GESTATION 292 DAYS Long, correct, muscular and packed with red meat. Need I say more? Marksman is one of our favourites this year for a few obvious reasons. Not to mention the fact that he goes back to our donor cow TSF Emma 29E. His dam Jasper is making quite the name for herself aswell, especially when she cracks them out this good year after year. If you are looking for a bull that’s guaranteed to give you herd building females and easily marketable steers while adding those saught after “extra ribs” Marksman will hit the mark for you time after time.

POLLED - RED CARRIER, GESTATION 287 DAYS A very cool Jacob son with an interesting twist in his pedigree. Out of our 100% Full Fleckvieh cow - LFS Pol Harper 124K. This first calver milks well, weaning 75M off just under 900 pounds, which is even more impressive when you take his February birthdate into consideration. Moto Moto sports an attractive blaze, and remains black to the ground, he is built incredibly long and smooth, he walks out like a cat, and is a bull that truly reminds me of his sire.
HOMO POLLED, NON DILUTOR GESTATION 289 DAYS
A great option for the heifer pen Molson is sure to add some calving ease to your herd and last for years to come, there’s plenty of longevity in this cow family! With his 70 pound birthweight and smooth build you can trust your heifers are in good hands. His first calver dam did a great job here weaning him off at 755 pounds. Our first daughters off of Molsons sire; Jacob calved out this spring, they make phenomenal dams with picture perfect udders.
HOMO POLLED, RED CARRIER, GESTATION 280 DAYS
Our only yearling calf off of Miller this year. Miller unfortunately stifled a leg in March of 2024, we didn’t get any 2025 bull calves off him as a result. Millers daughters are highly productive beautiful uddered females and he has multiple sons working across the prairies. Money Talks has a full brother working for Green Glade Ranch in Provost and I must say he is a spitting image of his older brother. Note that he goes back to our Donor cow TSF Emma 29E, and his maternal brother is topping the bull calf crop this year. His pedigree goes back to all of our “ greats” so you’re guaranteed to get some herd building females off of this guy.
HOMO POLLED, HOMO BLACK, GESTATION 288 DAYS
An April Born 2 year old, off of our Home Raised bull: LENG John Wayne, who mixes WFL Absolute and SLS Georgia 30G. SLS Georgia raised our high selling yearling bull last year that sold to Eyben Farms Ltd. If my plans work out she will find herself carrying “ donor status” sooner than later. Absolute semen is incredibly hard to come by so if you want a piece of those genetics this bull is a great opportunity to do so! Lever Action is built incredibly smooth with near perfect muscle composition.
HOMO POLLED, HOMO BLACK, GESTATION 282 DAYS
Welcome to the 3rd annual Transcon’s Northern Connection Simmental Bull Sale.
We are excited to showcase 2 two-year-old bulls and 4 yearlings. These bulls are all sired by Crossroad Landmark 91J who produces bulls with big butts, and soggy guts. We have now sold Landmark, so these will be the last of his offspring for sale.
Thank you to the Transcon team for their support and guidance preparing for this sale. We always look forward to Glenn’s visits to our farm.
We also wish all our fellow consigners the best of luck on the sale of their bulls.
Of course, phone inquiries are always welcome, as well as farm visits.

That does not take away from this guy’s confirmation as he is thick and well muscled. His haircoat is second to none. He is well pigmented. He is a fast walker, very sure on his big square feet. Larado is a bigger framed bull going back to Calibre 62C. He has filled in his frame nicely. He is definitely a cow bull. With Calibre 62C in his pedigree he will produce powerful females. This guy has 2 big goggles, with a quiet disposition. He always comes for a pet whenever I’m in the corral. Equipped with his big hooves, he has no trouble getting to where he’s going effortlessly. Also, halter broke. Check him out!
I’m very excited to be back in St. Paul at the Northern Connection sale! I would like to Thank the previous bidders and buyers for supporting my program, all the consigners and this new sale! I have a fresh set of bulls lined up this year and can’t wait to display them!
If you have any questions, feel free to call or text.

Macone is my first Pretty Boy calf out of the Electric Avenue daughter, BLL 136K purchased a couple years ago from Beechinor Land & Livestock. Macone has a calm temperament, wicked hair coat, long spine and very well put together. This cow bull should calve easy and add the pounds to his offspring come weaning time. Pretty Boy 04K was a bull raised from the KSL Hazel 34H female and hasn’t missed on any of her calves and her son has been following those same footsteps. I feel that Macone will be the next best in his lineage! Lab Test Pending.

LFS Paris 148K was purchased from the 2023 Western Harvest, has an amazing udder with tons of milk and a sweetheart in the pen. Paternal calving ease comes naturally through his pedigree. Moncada is a bull that will stick out like a sore thumb come sale day! No, he is not a 2 year-old, not a long yearling, he’s a yearling. You want big calves? Moncada will give you big calves! He’s dark cherry red with just a hint of white on his face. He poses a large structure with big black feet under him. His dam produces tremendous calves year after year that wean well over 900 lbs. She has maintained a great udder and her feet look as good as the day she came. Copper 63J has been the top herd sire for the past four years that carries his large frame very well. If you want stand out calves, Moncada will make that happen! Lab Test Pending.

Heifer bull prospect right here!! A great cross with Pretty Boy’s fleck genetics proved to be another success. Marchment’s dam, a home raised heifer is one of my favorites in the purebred herd. Usually find those females not to put it into their calf but she puts just as much into her calf as she does herself! She’s a big cow that knocked it out of the park again with a moderate weight bull calf this year! Marchment will be very successful in the heifer pen. Lab Test Pending.

Her first calf was my high seller sold as a bred heifer at the 2023 Ultimate Red & Black Sale in Red Deer to Polar Farms (BC) and Joe absolutely loves her! Motown is one of the longest bulls on offer and would make a great addition to anyone’s herd. Lab Test Pending.

HHCC, Hairy Hill Cattle Company would like to thank Transcon for inviting us to be a part of the 3rd annual Transcon Northern Connection Simmental Bull sale.
Our business has been based around selling bulls off the farm by private treaty for the last almost 30 years. As a way to help expand our customer base and gain more exposure for our breeding program we have decided to bring some of our most elite bulls to this sale. We are located 4 miles south of Hairy Hill, Alberta at the junction of Township 550 and Rg Rd 142. The herd consists of 260 cow calf pairs. We have a full fleck program with both horned and polled genetics. We also run a Red Simmental and Black Simmental program. Having all of this diversity allows us to produce genetics that can fit with anyone’s herd that is in need of some Simmental bull power. We run an extensive flushing program each year that consists of flushing cows we own as well as purchasing embryos from many of the top breeders in the industry today. we implant 50 plus embryos per year. We have always strived to produce sound productive cows with good feet, legs and lots of natural muscling and ease of keeping. We invite you to come out to the farm and view the bull pens. There are 37 yearlings and 8 two year olds this year.
Feel free to call Mark anytime at 780-208-2375. We look forward to seeing you on or before April 1st.

HHCC Lafond is one of the top bulls from my selection of two year olds this year. His quiet disposition and strong pedigree make it an easy favourite amongst the bulls I have on offer here. His mother Joy 511C was purchased from Wilson Stock Farms dispersal and is one of our main black donor flush cows in the herd. LaFond’s sire HHCC Fenix 6F has been an outstanding herd building sire for our program over the years. The combination of these two families makes HHCC Lafond 142L a prime example of excellent breeding that will improve anyone’s herd.

Here is a unique opportunity! You have the chance to buy one or even both of the dynamic duo, the embryo brothers HHCC Mateo 7M and HHCC Miquel 8M. These cookie cutter brothers from one of our corner stone flush cows Joy 511C and sired by LFE The Riddler 323B are just too good to overlook. The performance that comes from The Riddler sire is balanced out nicely by the maternal traits and quiet disposition of 511C. Joy 511C who was originally produced by Canadian donors and then later purchased by us from Wilson Stock Farms dispersal has proven time and time again to be a true herd builder for our program. Take advantage of your chance to grab some of the proven genetics that these brothers have to offer.

This hot shot is another example of our embryo programs strive for excellence. HHCC Maverick 30M is one of several embryo bulls out of our MRL 7350E donor cow. Out of these bulls we are retaining a full brother and a half brother to Maverick 30M for our own herds use. These genetics are so good I just couldn’t sell them all off. HHCC 30M has extremely high EPD’s for performance to help boost those pounds at weaning and at the auction market for your calves. We all know we get paid by the pound so that’s a trait to boost your bottom dollar. Bring home a money maker for your herd with this fine fellow HHCC Maverick 30M.

This bull makes a statement when it comes to performing. He is the youngest bull I have to offer in the St. Paul sales pen but he will stand up beside any of the older bulls in this group. HHCC Marvin 213M has been an eye catcher since he was born and continues to impress me. His mother HHCC Halo 100H has proven to be a very consistent producer who makes solid productive offspring every year, She hasn’t missed the keeper pen with her bull or heifer calves yet. If you are looking for a bull to add some consistency and performance to your program then take advantage of Marvin.

An interesting mix of easier calving genetics on his mothers red Simmental side and the growth, frame and muscle on his fathers full fleck side,
The blending of red genetics with full fleck genetics gives you
of the breed all in one package.
We are thrilled to be returning to the Northern Connection Sale in St. Paul again this year, and would like to thank Transcon for the opportunity! It has been a lot of fun hearing from our 2024 buyers about their bulls adventures on their new pastures.
For those who we didn’t have the pleasure of meeting last year, we are a third generation family farm who primarily focused on commercial cattle and grain. However, in 2020 we decided to dip our toes into the registered simmental industry. We decided to start producing bulls to use within our own herd after years of quick turn around with some of the bulls we had previously invested in. With some time and growth, we decided to put ourselves out into the bull sale world as our commercial herd can only utilize so many brothers breeding. We believe in quality over quantity, and we look forward to seeing our bulls progeny continue to expand within your herd!

plenty of growth and depth. He comes from a moderate-sized, very maternal fullblood cow. We have used this sire on all of our second calvers for the past 2 years and keep all of the replacement heifers we can from him. Scurred.
NON DILUTOR
This guy is eager to breed and ready to make you some growthy calves! He is soggy with lots of hair. CWF 40M is smooth polled. He comes from our crowd favorite, long-spined, B Bar C Jury sire. The dam has a very clean utter. NON DILUTOR
Welcome to the 3rd annual Northern Connection bull sale. First, we would like to thank all of our buyers last year for their continuing support in our program. This year we have another good set of working bulls, Horned and polled that are packed with power and performance!
We welcome anyone to view the bulls prior to the sale. Coffee is always on.

His maternal brother is working in Lac la biche for Randy Horton.

Bandit is our sons bull and Hudson put the work in to keep this bull quiet.
Bandit has gotten everyone’s attention that has been to our place. Very deep and thick well rounded bull. His dam SKY Blue Benz has a tiddy udder and small teets, she is aging like fine wine. Maternal brother sold last year to Clint Cox of Rocky Mountain House.
Hudson was a little disappointed this year to see Blue had a Bull calf but non the less if he grows like Bluey or Bandit she will hit another home run for him!
HETERO POLLED, 100% FULL FLECK, DILUTOR FREE Maddox is the youngest bull in the pen, but his growth has kept right up with his pen mates with daily gains at 3lbs a day. With a small smooth polled head and heavy hair coat that’s colored right, he will be one to keep an eye on come sale day. Maddox comes from one of our most favorite cows KSL Harper. She is a no miss cow, that always brings home a marketable bull or heifer. Harper has excellent feet and tiddy small udder.
With bulls like Keets Hardwood and Big Sky Duke in his pedigree you will want to keep all of his polled females. With a Wide top and soggy mid-section he will pack pounds on to your steer crop.
Welcome to Northern Connection! First off we would like to send a big thank-you to everyone who has supported us the past few years buying breeding stock through sales and off the farm. Here at Carpathian Land & Livestock we pride ourselves on sound structured, functional livestock that have the ability to go out and perform for years to come in production.
If you have any questions please feel free to give us a call and come look at the bulls at home we’d be glad to talk cattle with you.
Andrew, Erin, Kyle, Emily, Ethan & Kurt
If you’re looking for one that’s long spined, big backed, and nice skulled, this is the one for you! This red son out of the $280,000 Mader Walk the Line 92J legend has the added growth and performance to pack on the extra pounds come weaning. You can never go wrong with the renowned maternal traits of the Pocohontas family on the other side of his pedigree either. There was no family debate about keeping his full sister in the replacement pen this year! McCaffrey’s personality is just as calm and cool as he is! Whether you are a seedstock breeder or a commercial cattleman, this is one strong genetic package not to not pass up!
Soft sided, practical, easy keeping cattle never go out of style and this one is extra trendy with his cool color and dark muzzle and twist pigments. Military Man’s combination of deep rib shape, a loose soft hide, and muscle patterning make him a power bull just like his sire IPU Lieutenant 24E “We believe Lieutenant is one of the best all around red bulls we’ve ever produced” Barry Labatte, Labatte Simmentals. All our Lieutenant calves made the replacement pen this year, our only regret is that we didn’t buy more semen! Stacked with great cow families this genetic backing in tandem with his genuine muscle shape and skeletal build makes him one to not be overlooked. Military Man has all the ammo to get the job done and compliment any program regardless of your goals of making steers, bulls, or foundation cows!
