Foothills Auctioneers Inc. - Stavely, AB

Welcome from Your Transcon Team

I believe this is 8th year for the Round Up Gals since they made their debut. It was a commitment level made by the Round Up Group to add another level of quality to the sale in celebration of having 25 Annual sales and has continued since! The “Gals” attain the same quality as always with a bit more diversity included.

I am as impressed as I’ve ever been with the Okofleck bullpen! There are some real serious contenders here, particularly in the “723J” and “Full Tilt” sire groups. The “Cavill” sons bring a bit more flavour of ease calving to the picture. These are worth a look!

I would simply sum up it in referring to Scott Land & Cattle, that they have their biggest and best group to date! Things don’t happen by accident here, it’s very methodically planned and it shows.

The Vernon Family, like Okofleck, have the best pen of bulls they’ve ever offered. Considering that comment, it validates the trip to Stavely even more! This is a very high quality set of Fullblood Simmental bulls that will sell.

The extra age bulls also come with lots of quality and diversity. I’ll start with the bulls from JB Livestock Co. It’s been a loooong time since a JB bull went under the gavel, but this time legitimizes the long running commitment to Round Up as much as ever, as these two long yearling bulls aren’t just age advantaged, but are in fact JUNIOR HERDSIRES for JB, each of them being an intricate part of this past breeding season. After an inventory of the cowherd this summer, the decision was made to retain all the bred heifers, therefore, to still have a quality offering, the young herdbulls were decided to be entered.

Staying on the extra age theme and two bulls that compliment the aforementioned JB bulls, are the bulls from Three Point Cattle Co. They as well are polled and have strong cow families in their lineage. These are a pair of very natural muscled, easy-doing 3/4 brothers.

Rolling on with the long yearlings, are the Black & Red Simmi bulls from the great people at Tangle Ridge Ranch. The bulls are developed in a very responsible manner with feed conversion considered as important criteria in their make up. Solid feet under these bulls with longevity in mind!

We want to welcome Jessie Young and her Crocus Coulee Cattle Co outfit to the Round Up! These two young bulls are both out of first calf heifers and grazed their beautiful summer pastures in the foothills West of Hwy 22, Northwest of Pincher Creek. Nice candidates from a first time consignor!

The WHR program has recently invested in owning some top herdsires, including buying one back from a customer, based on the cow power behind him and he is VERY IMPRESSIVE. A Fullblood and a Black Simmental make up Tyler’s string of two. Obviously a heavy cull happened encouraged by strong steer prices and narrowed this down to two.

We’re always here to appraise the offering on your behalf, prior to your arrival. In the event you can’t attend, as many of you realize, we are also available to handle your absentee bidding needs, simply call my cell phone or any of our other Transcon reps to discuss this free service.

Hope to see you in Stavely,

Welcome to the 2025 addition of the Southern Alberta Round Up Group Annual Sale.

The 32nd edition features 3 sire groups of bulls. Virginia Dirty Hands 723J. The pedigree in our offer is strongly influenced by the Virginia Ranch breeding program.

In addition, a new pedigree WJS One Up 21L a NUG Advantage son from Johnson Ranching has been added. Also, MJB Lucas 24L a Rugged R Cavill son purchased in dam from Vernon Properties has been utilized effectively on heifers.

We believe both of these junior herd sires will complement our offering. Our bred heifers will exhibit the depth of our breeding program.

Tangle Ridge Ranch Simmental Round Up Gals

Welcome friends to the 32nd Annual Southern Alberta Round-Up Group Sale!

Once again, our family is proud to present our top picks for the 2025 sale: a strong offering of red and black Simmentals, along with a group of purebred Black Angus bulls that we are very pleased with. Each year, we focus on bringing forward long yearling bulls that showcase strong genetics, proven performance, and overall eye appeal.

This year, we are also excited to be bringing a select group of bred heifers. Our daughter and herd manager, Brekell, initially had these females designated for the keeper pen, but we decided it was time to share these four outstanding ladies. The group includes two Black Angus heifers and two black Simmentals, all due to calve in mid-March. We would love for you to come out and have a look prior to sale day! Please call or text Brenda or Brekell to arrange a time to walk through our 2025 lineup.

We look forward to visiting with everyone on sale day!

MCG Simmentals Simmental Round-Up Gals

Welcome to the 2025 edition of the Southern Alberta Roundup sale. This year we have brought to you 4 top end open heifers out of our replacement pen. All 4 of these heifers would compliment any herd. We took the time to tie break all these heifers, so if you are interested in showing any of these girls, it wouldn’t take much work to get them ring ready. Docility is very important to us. We have 3 daughters on offer, all out of our IPU 17K, Perks Potent 309H son. Grady’s heifer is sired by our Homo Polled Full Fleck bull TC 88K. Both the herdsires and the Dam’s of these heifers are extremely quite and easy to work with.

If you are interested in seeing these girls prior to the sale, please give us a call and stop in.

HOMO POLLED. NON DILUTOR. TIE BROKE

This heifer’s mother was purchased out of the Tymarc Simmentals Dispersal as an open heifer. We also have a full sister in herd that will be calving in January. Had we not had that full sister, we wouldn’t likely be selling this heifer. Her mother is a moderate framed cow with a really nice udder and super disposition. This heifer is a deep bodied, super thick and a very feminine girl. She will definitely catch your eye sale day.

MCG NONA 22N

HOMO POLLED. NON DILUTOR. TIE BROKE

I could write a novel on this heifer’s mother, which is a definite favorite in our herd. She has raised bulls that were sold to Nauta Farms, Dan Slingerland and Daine Snow, all of which were high sellers in the respective year they were sold in our bull sales. She has also raised 2 other daughters that we retained in our herd, one of which is a full sister to 22N. This heifer is so much like her mother, Dark Red, long bodied, and super docile. This is a heifer we truly have confidence in, in that she will grow into a great productive cow.

LOT 19 - NELLIE 91N
LOT 20 - NONA 22N

HOMO POLLED. NON DILUTOR. TIE BROKE

Here is another heifer out of a young cow that has shown us what she can do. Her first calf was a bull that we sold to Dekoke Forages, and her second calf was a heifer that is a full sister to 1N that will be having her first calf this upcoming January. 1N comes from an extremely strong cow family. If you look back in her pedigree, both MCG 1Z and MCG 16T were very important cows to our herd. Daughters were always retained out of both of those cows, and all were very good females with very nice udders. This is for sure a heifer we would have loved to have kept as our own, but as we do have her full sister, we are offering her up to do great things for someone else’s herd. She is super docile.

HETERO POLLED. NON DILUTER. TIE BROKE. Of all of Grady’s small herd, this heifer comes from his best cow family of all. Grady bought this heifer’s great grand dam out of this very sale as an open heifer in 2010 from Ricochet Simmentals. That heifer turned out to be a super cow that raised a couple of great daughters that he retained in herd. One of those being her grand dam. 53A was a bull producer, of which 6 out of 10 of her calves were bulls. Every one of those bulls were highly marketable and everyone of them were sold to commercial producers. Of the 4 heifers she raised, 2 were retained in herd and the other 2 were sold as breeding heifers to other producers as well. Her mother is a dark red blaze faced super attractive cow. This is the 3rd calf she has raised, the first being a heifer that was retained in herd, the second being a bull, a full brother to 57N which was sold to Glenn Bokvist in our past bull sale. Although this heifer has a high percentage of Fleckvieh in her, she is a purebred, going back to the Erixon Lad 21G bull, which was a true female maker. This heifer has so much going for her, we think she will make a great productive cow.

LOT 21 - NETTA 1N

Livestock Company Extra Age Simmental Bulls JB

Welcome to the 32nd Annual Southern Alberta Round-Up Group Sale. Having participated in this sale from its inaugural event in 1994, it is an honour to continue to work with so many of the original consignors as well as those who have joined along the way.

This year’s offering is a bit of a change up (the Blue Jays must be on my mind as I write this) from our traditional female consignments over the past several years. For 2025, our “Round-Up Gals” get to stay home to replenish the herd, and the boys get to come to town! As a reflection of our commitment to this long-running sale, we have on offer the top two herd sire prospects from our 2024 calf crop. Due to our later calving season, we have sold all our bulls privately since 2008. This will be the first time in 17 years we have consigned bulls to sell by auction.

A big thank you to our previous bidders and buyers from both sides of the border. Your consideration to include the “JB” tattoo among your purchases is humbling. Please consider this your personal invitation to join us in Stavely, Alberta, Canada on Tuesday, December 16th. For those unable to attend in person, the sale will be broadcast live through TRANSCON by T.E.A.M. @ www.teamauctionsales.com

Merry Christmas and Best Wishes to all for a Happy and Healthy 2026!

LOT 23 - THE NASH 2414

JB CDN THE NASH 2414

Heterozygous Polled. Dilution Free. 100% Fleckvieh Fullblood.

Our two top herd sire prospects born in 2024 are both on offer and here is the first of the two. “The Nash” is next in line from a long list of widely recognized maternal siblings. He is a maternal brother to Apache Junction, American Ice and Blackfoot Crossing just to name a few. Suffice it to write that his dam, JB CDN Felicity 1603, has been a production workhorse for us. She is a prolific homozygous polled cow with an abundance of muscle and plenty of milk. She turns 10 years of age next year and shows no signs of slowing down. MAVV Knox 71K, the sire of “The Nash” is a bull we lost to injury far too early. He is a grandson of the legendary “French Attack” and both his male and female progeny born in 2024 (our only calf crop) were the absolute standouts. If you are looking for a junior herd sire to add muscle, pigmentation, quiet disposition, fertility and the polled factor from a reliable cow family, “The Nash” is a solid prospect.

LOT 24 - SOLDIER 2426

Heterozygous Polled. Dilution Free. 100% Fleckvieh Fullblood.

From very early on, Soldier was slated to replace his sire in our breeding program. But here he is. A feature from our 2024 bull calf crop, we consider Soldier to be a true highlight in our breeding career of Fleckvieh/Simmental cattle. Smooth polled from a predominantly horned pedigree, Soldier has herd bull presence wrapped up in a loose-hided mahogany red coat of hair on a slightly larger frame. He has excellent hoof structure and travels effortlessly. The cow family behind Soldier was first introduced into our herd through Bar None Fredrika -- 31 years ago. This cow line is plentiful in our herd and has worked hard for others. Perhaps most notably, this is the same cow family that produced BLL Creed 950G who has done an impeccable job with his progeny for Anchor D Ranch Simmentals. We are surely going to miss not having this big guy walking our breeding pastures next spring but very excited to see another operation develop him to his full potential.

TNG MOLSON 44M is a soft-made, easy fleshing bull with lots of shape and middle. Sired by WS Proclamation E202, he carries the balance, structure, and maternal strength that Proclamation is known for. His dam, 23B, traces back to Dikemans Sure Bet, a cow family known for strong udders, good feet and cows that stay in the herd. He’s big-barreled, sound-footed and a naturally easy bull to appreciate. Expect him to add body, structure and longevity to your herd.

TNG MARIO 57M

TNG MARIO 57M is a super easy bull to appreciate. He’s deep-sided, soft made, and has that chill, low-maintenance look we all love. He’s sired by Hook’s Beacon 56B, who’s known for making good-natured cattle that feed well and leave daughters with really nice udders. His dam, 35J, comes out of a cow family we trust big time. She traces back to CCR Cowboy Cut 5048Z and Dikemans Double Down 26W—so you get that mix of maternal strength, longevity, and cows that just work without any headaches. It’s the kind of cow family you wish you had more of. If you’re needing a black bull that’s practical, sound, and the kind you’ll want to keep daughters out of—57M is an easy choice.

HOOK’S BEACON 56B - Sire of Lot 29
WS PROCLAMATION E202 - Sire of Lot 28
Homo Polled. Homo Black.

Homo Polled. Homo Black.

TNG MILES 84M has that straightforward look to like. He’s bold through his rib, wide over his top, and has that balanced, square look that’s really hard to pick apart. He’s sired by CLRWTR Clear Advantage H4G, a bull known for adding muscle and dimension while keeping cattle sound and manageable. His dam, 46F, traces back to Dikemans Double Down 26W on both sides of her pedigree — so maternal consistency, udder quality, and that soft, easydoing style runs deep here. This is the kind of cow family that quietly works and lasts. If you like cattle that stay in good shape and look good doing it, 84M is your guy.

TNG MILO 70M

Homo Polled. Hetero Black.

TNG MILO 70M is one of those bulls that’s effortlessly impressive — he’s smooth-made, good shouldered, and has that soft look through his rib and flank. Both his sire and his dam trace back to Hooks Shear Force 38K, so the structure, disposition, and longevity are backed in from both sides. His dam, 15J, is red, which makes 70M heterozygous black — so depending on what you turn him out with, you’ll have the option to get both colors in the calves. Just a nice, versatile bull that will fit a lot of different programs.

AND R MILKMAID SMTR 74C - Granddam of Lot 30

TNG MOTLEY 77M is a good, honest bull. He’s deep sided, wide over his top, and carries himself the way one should. A really balanced bull that holds together wherever you look at him. Both sides of his pedigree go back to Hooks Shear Force 38K and CCR Cowboy Cut 5048Z, so there’s generations of structure, disposition, and maternal consistency stacked into him. His dam, 21H, is exactly the type you love to have around — tidy udder, stays in great shape, and just goes to work every year without needing any fuss.

TNG MEMPHIS 55M

TNG MEMPHIS 55M is a big, soft, easy-going red bull that’s real easy to appreciate. He’s deep through his middle, wide over the top and has that chill, workable attitude we all like. His dam traces back to Traxs Rushmore X103, which is where that extra rib shape and “good momma cow” look comes from. If you’re wanting daughters that stay feminine, hold their condition and quietly do their job, Memphis is your guy.

R AND R MILKMAID SMTR 21H - Sire of Lot 32
Homo Polled. Diluter Free.
Homo Polled. Homo Black.

TNG MAVERICK 52M has some presence to him — bold, proud and built right. He’s thick where he should be, smooth on the move and has that balanced, easy-to-like profile. His maternal side goes back to Hooks Shear Force 38K, which is known for making cows that last, milk well and stay sound. If your goal is replacement females with body, softness and no fuss, Maverick fits that lane really nicely.

TNG MONROE 35M

TNG MONROE 35M has always been one of those bulls that just feels right. He’s balanced, good in his structure and has a nice, honest build to him. On the dam side, he goes back to Beckton Nebula, which brings the quiet temperament and fertility this line of cows is known for. He’s the kind you turn out and don’t think twice about — and you’ll really like the daughters.

Homo Polled. Diluter Free.

Tangle Ridge Ranch Extra Age Angus Bulls

TNG MONTANA 4M is a long-bodied, smooth-made bull that’s really easy to appreciate the more you look at him. He’s got that laid-back, good-minded demeanor and travels clean and true. His dam comes out of the Joette cow family, which is known for fertile, hardworking females that simply get it done. A great option for building a dependable, no-fuss cow herd.

3M

TNG MEGAMAN 3M is a big, good-looking boy with all the shape and muscle you could ask for. He’s wide topped, deep bodied and has that powerful but easy-going look we really appreciate. Sired by Poss Winchester for added growth and muscle. His dam comes from the Joette cow family, known for great udders and long-lasting females. 3M will sire calves with shape and style and leave you daughters you’ll want to keep every time.

TNG MAXIMUS 20M is a deep-bodied, soggy bull with lots of shape and muscle expression. He’s the kind that’s easy to feed and easy to like — wide based, stout hipped and soft through the middle. His dam ties into the Emulota cow family, which is known for productive cows that raise big calves and breed back consistently. A strong option if you want power without giving up maternal.

TNG MAGNUS 24M

TNG MAGNUS 24M brings a really attractive profile — neat fronted, good footed and correct through his structure. He’s got that Winchester muscle shape but still keeps a clean, extended look through his shoulder and neck. His dam comes from the Eona cow family, a group known for feminine, long-lasting cows with great udder quality. 24M is a bull that checks a lot of boxes for both replacement females and market calves.

Scott Land & Cattle Yearling Simmental Bulls

On behalf of Scott Land & Cattle we welcome you to the 2025 Southern Alberta Round Up Sale.

Our operation is located just east of Arrowwood Alberta and consists of 130 commercial cows and 50 purebred Simmental cows as well as 2500 acres of crop land. Through AI and Embryo transfer work we are able to utilize some of the best genetics in the industry. Our bull calves graze in the buffalo hills grassland area which is a great place to watch them develop and turn into great herdsires. The bulls calves are raised along side their dams until late august where they then go onto a high oat and high roughage ration to ensure these bulls grow and develop to their maximum potential and will continue to perform for years to come.

We invite you to come tour through the bulls and the cow herd anytime before the sale. We look forward to seeing all of you at this year’s sale!

A true performance bull that checks every box — power, presence, and predictability. An IVF ET calf that came with a little extra birthweight as the IVF calves usually do. But we are confident that this is not how this bull will breed.

This late January calf’s sire Caliber, a bull who truly needs no introduction for his ability to stamp consistency, muscle, and style into his progeny. Out of a no-miss cow family that continues to raise the right kind year after year, he’s long-bodied, extremely stout, and built like a herd bull should be. Add in a neat blaze face and a quiet, easy-going temperament, and he’s the kind you’ll want to build around. Backed by a proven pedigree and impressive performance, this Caliber son blends look and power very well. We would like to retain in herd use semen on this bull at our expense & buyer convenience.

Crocus Coulee Cattle Co. Yearling Simmental Bulls

Welcome to the 32nd Annual Southern Alberta Round-Up Sale!

I’m excited to be a new consigner in this long-established event and deeply honoured to have been invited to join such a respected group of cattlemen and women. It’s a privilege to bring a few of my own bulls to town.

I’m Jessie Young—the owner, rancher, and heart behind Crocus Coulee Cattle Co. I couldn’t be more grateful to be part of this year’s Southern Round-Up Sale. Thank you to the organizers and community for the warm welcome. I look forward to building longstanding relationships with everyone here and contributing to this great tradition.

While I’m new to the Fullblood Simmentals industry, we’re certainly not new to the barn. I was born and raised in Bragg Creek, Alberta, on a commercial cow-calf ranch established by my great-grandfather in 1888. My roots in ranching run deep on both sides of my family—ranchers, homesteaders, and pioneers who helped shape the early cattle industry in Alberta and British Columbia. That heritage drives my commitment to preserve traditional ranching values while continuing to evolve and improve our herd for the next generations.

When I’m not tending cattle, I balance ranch life with my other passions—nursing and the mountains. I’m a Registered Nurse by trade and an outfitter by family, co-owning Midnight Sun Outfitting in the northern Yukon with my brother and father. Summers are spent guiding hunters in one of Canada’s most remote wilderness areas, and by fall we’re back south, ready for calving and weaning season.

Crocus Coulee Cattle Co. is built on old-fashioned work ethic, family history, and the pursuit of raising top-quality, functional cattle—in particularly Fullbloods. Beyond breeding, we’re here to build friendships, strengthen community, and help keep the ranching industry thriving for years to come.

This years offer are two bull calves. These calves are the product of my young program, built from first-calf heifers purchased from Lone Stone Farms. I’ve worked hard to develop my cow herd and ensure it is backed by some of the best Fullblood Fleckvieh influence in the industry. I’m confident in the direction our breeding program is headed and continue to strive for top-end maternal strength, sound structure, and honest, hardy cattle built to work. Our calves are born in January and February, then turned out to graze native grass pastures along the east slopes of the Rockies. They’re raised on range conditions, the way good cattle should be, and built to take any direction for any program!

Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or would like to come see the bulls in person—I’d love to have you out for a visit.

Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from all of us at Crocus Coulee Cattle Co.! May your calving season be smooth, your pastures green, and your barns full of promise.

Sincerely,

Jessie Young

Crocus Coulee Cattle Co.

This calf was a looker right from the time he hit the ground! He has since matured into a big, strong, heavy haired herdbull prospect. 11N is out of a “Full Moon” first time calver heifer that is showing exceptional maternal instincts and udder quality. A true heifer bull with a moderate birthweight and a pedigree full of calving ease. Nitro 11N ranks in the top 25% in the breed for calving ease EPDs. Built for real range conditions with sound structure, solid movement, and the durability to travel and thrive in any environment. “Nitro” was the highest weaning weight of the pen. And has kept that pace up post weaning doing 4.4 per day on test! Check him out!

Dilutor test pending. Results available on sale day.

CROCUS COULEE NOBLE 13N

A flashy, eye-catching calf with all the right pieces — stout, strong-legged, great-haired, and made to last. He carries the look and power that make him stand out in any pen, backed by proven genetics. His sire line goes back to JNR’s Cashmere, known for adding frame and stoutness, while his paternal side traces to KSL Luke from the reputable KSL Simmental herd. Nobel 13N combines structural integrity, muscle, and breed character in one impressive package. Raised on forestry permits native grass, he’s proving his worth on test, gaining 4.7 lbs/day and ranking among the top performers in the group. Lighter in colour with a splash, he’s a rare find—a lighter bull that’ll still stamp those soughtafter buckskins continuing to bring a premium in today’s market. Built right, bred right, and built to last—Nobel 13N is one that demands a second look.
