This is the 46th edition of Simmsational, maybe the longest running consignment sale going. We’ve never missed a sale right from attending the first one. That kind of dates my age, but still very interested and enthusiastic about this great breed. We’ve seen many changes in our breed over the years and all for the better. We are so lucky to have such great young breeders moving this breed forward with keeping the commercial industry in mind while producing performance and maternal values in these cattle. The commercial industry prices are at an all-time high and I think there are several good years ahead with the cattle numbers as low as they are. Now is the time to add good genetics to your herd both females and herd bulls.

We are offering 8 bred heifers in this year’s sale. Five outstanding fullbloods, three being polled, all bred in April to calving ease homo polled Fleck bulls. There’s a lot of opportunity in this group. Two really good homo polled red heifers bred WLB Top Tier, the popular baldy, calving ease sensation and a really broody homo polled, homo black Caliber daughter. All these heifers have April AI dates and no exposures. They all had their first shot of Scour Bos 4.

Homo Polled Fleck Fullblood.

A feature homo polled Canon Daughter out of a really good Dakota cow going back to Anchor D Viper. This heifer has performance built in with her rating 1/47 for weaning weight ratio. She’s got frame, depth and is broody. She’ll produce bull calves all day long. She’s dark red, has goggles and looks to be setting a good udder, her EPD profile is really good also ranking near the top 9 of the 13 EPD traits. She’s bred early to the homo polled calving ease Fleck bull, KSL PLD Jesse James.

He’ll add the calving ease and 201K will add the performance. The resulting homo polled calf should have loads of potential whether a bull or heifer.

A beautiful polled Elevation daughter out of the Zora cow family. Her picture says it all, dark cherry red, deep, angular, and broody. This is one to start a program around. A mother cow in the making. These French Attack daughters are simply awesome. This heifer has brood cow written all over her. I wouldn’t be scared to send her anywhere, sight unseen.

That’s how high I am on her. She’s dark red, angular, thick, and setting down a beautiful udder. Her picture doesn’t do her justice, take it from me she’s awesome. Bred to the homo polled KSL Honky Tonk bull should result in a very exciting calf.

Polled Fleck Fullblood. A smooth polled Canon daughter that we’re testing for homo polled, will have the results by sale day. She is out of a good cow we purchased from the good people at Johnson Ranching. She was one of the high sellers in the bred heifer division at the Camrose Country Classic sale.

960G has a really good Southseven Adonis calf in the bull pen that will be one of our features in our Spring Bull Sale and he, too, is polled. There’s a lot of opportunity in this dark red, goggled eyed Canon daughter.

Homo Polled Homo Black Purebred.One of the first RF Caliber daughters to sell as a bred heifer and she is a beauty. So deep and broody, a matron in the making. Her mother is an awesome uddered Heavy Hitter daughter we purchased from Mader Ranches as a bred heifer. This 3K daughter is just like her and maybe even better. Caliber is establishing quite a name for himself in the show ring and the sale ring. Just recently at the Immortal show at Stettler, AB, an all-breed show, Simmental swept the champions in both the heifer calf champion and bull calf champion, both RF Caliber’s. This heifer has a lot of future in her and bred to the exclusive bull, CMS Sochi 307A, a dominate sire at R Plus Simmentals, he produced their high selling bull calf at their dispersal. This mating should be very exciting and she’s homo polled and homo black as an added bonus.

Her sire, Dillinger 80B is out of the great Pocahontas 2Y cow and her grandmother on the bottom side is a full sister to 2Y’s mother, Pocahontas 52N. This was Brodyn’s 4-H heifer this year, this being his last year in 4-H gave us the opportunity to sell this fancy made, broody, showy heifer. We are extremely excited to join this excellent group of breeders. We breed 100% Fleckvieh and Fullblood Simmental with a focus on producing performance driven, polled cattle. These females that we have to offer are right at the top of our pen. They are backed by powerfull Fleckvieh cow families and the top genetics in our program. We use a combination of walking herd bulls, AI from top bulls in the industry and embryo transfer. We have 9 heifers on offer; 3 horned, 4 heterozygous polled and 2 homozygous polled. She’s an ET from a flush between “Razzie” and Grinalta’s Ultra. “Razzie” was a major producer in our program and the dam to Kindred Spirit Ezana who was an outstanding walking bull. Welcome to Simmsational. This year has been challenging to say the least. January started out with beautiful temperatures and on into March when winter decided to come visit with a vengeance. Lack of rain and hot, dry, windy weather for the summer made gathering up feed a challenge.

My cow herd is built around low input females as evidenced by the bloom on the bred heifers and the heifer calf in the sale. They had only been on feed for 6 weeks before pictures were taken. Heifers are available for viewing anytime.

Dark red foundation female here! We purchased a group of recips a couple years back after having sampled a batch of embryos from KAG 840F. This female is the result of one of those pregnancies. She is the most complete female that we have ever had the privallage of raising. She is stout made with a big sweeping rib shape, a ton of middle with a nice wide top and very tidy front third. She is setting down a picture-perfect udder and possesses that little tick of extra frame we feel the simmental breed is embracing.

Poker Face out of FBL Tara 188D. These Poker Face females are sought after and the only time they seem to come available is at someones herd dispersal. Rarely and I mean very rarely do you see a Poker Face daughter for sale at this age. The opportunity to own this heifer comes only because we have her full snipe faced brother standing in our bull pen. Much like the case with the 57L female, you will see this combination of genetics in our pedigrees down the road. This is one Darren had to have the second he seen her and it is with reluctance we offer her for sale. She is the golden jewel of our black production to date. EXCEPTION TO GUARANTEE - In cases where the animal is subjected to any hormonal or surgical reproduction techniques after the sale, the guarantee shall be null and void.

HEALTH - It is the buyer’s responsibility to determine health requirements for importing any animal into his province or state. Transcon Livestock Corp. assumes no responsibility for the health status of any animal in the sale.

EMBRYO & SEMEN – Full settlement must be made before release is done and shipping arrangements should be done within 30 days of the sale unless arrangements made between buyer and seller prior to the sale. Shipping arrangements and costs are the expense of the purchaser once release has been given.

ACCIDENTS - Although every precaution will be taken to protect the safety and comfort of buyers, neither the Sales Management, auctioneer, consignors, or Association assumes any responsibility in this matter and disclaims any liability legal or otherwise in the event of accident or loss of property.

RIGHTS AND OBLIGATIONS - The above terms and conditions of the sale shall constitute a contract between the buyer and the seller and be equally binding to both. Resale of animals following purchase in this sale shall constitute a separate transaction and the rights and obligations of the two parties connected thereto are not covered by the terms and conditions of this sale.

TRANSCON LIVESTOCK CORP. IS AGENT ONLY - It is to be clearly understood that Transcon Livestock Corp. is only acting as a medium between buyer and seller and is not in any way responsible for any failure on the part of either party to live up to his obligations. Neither does Transcon Livestock Corp. assume any financial obligations to collect or enforce collection of any monies between parties. Any legal action that may be taken, in exceptional cases, must be between buyer and seller.
