Big Hills Simmentals Welcome to the 2024 Premium Beef Sale! Thank you for taking the time to see what we have on offer that will work for you and your cattle herd.

Marcischuk Farms began in 1964 when my newly-married parents bought their first quarter of land northwest of Rackham. Mom and Dad couldn’t have been happier to start their new farm in this lovely location. Many years of hard work, long days and sacrifice brought them success on the farm, and it grew to include a cream contract, milking cows, hogs, bountiful crops and two children, my sister Deborah and I. I began to take over the farm as a young man. I wanted to grow and modernize the farm, and the strong work ethic I learned from my parents was essential to making it happen. Dad and I bought our first Simmental Bull in 1974 and I was hooked for life. We continued to buy Simmental bulls for the beef herd and got to know several local breeders. The more I learned, the more I wanted to be involved. The opportunity to invest in a herd of Simmentals and get started in the Registered Simmental business came up in 2002. We dove in, and I did my best to learn as much as I could about genetics and how to breed the kind of cattle that I would want to buy. I learned to Artificially Inseminate and started collecting unique and valuable genetics to infuse into the herd. I continue to be interested in the Full Blood cattle, especially those that are Polled, and have also expanded into Purebred and Black genetics.

We have our best bulls on offer for you today. These bulls come from both our spring and fall calving programs, from natural and AI breeding, and continue to include noteable bloodlines from across the industry. We are very pleased to share some of the herd we have developed with other breeders and commercial cattlemen alike.

A combination of new blood meeting tried and true performance. 275K’s mother is a Rust Henn Rambler x Rogant female, she might be more moderate made but she’s mighty. It doesn’t always take a big cow to produce a big calf, especially with these “hybrid” fleck/red crosses, as a group, they’re some of our most productive commercial females. Add in the well known WS Beef King on the sire side, who still dominates the breed for performance and calve ease.

275K would be an ideal candidate for the heifer pen or even first calf heifers.

Howdy producers! Welcome to the 2024 Premium Beef Bull Sale. This is all fairly new and exciting for us as we’re usually on the other side of the bidding. We’re very honoured to be joining TRANSCON and the PREMIUM BEEF crew.

Jewel and I have owned and managed a multi-generational cattle herd for decades now, calving mostly in January.

We bought MR.HYATT in the 2021 CATTLE COUNTRY sale in Neepawa for our commercial cows and boy did he add beef to the steers, especially on the heavier Simmental influenced cows. He’s extremely docile with great feet and testicles, an absolute beauty of a herd bull. So... it got us thinkin, lets give him a couple purebred cows and see what he can do. These two bulls are the result, and what a result, these boys are studs.

Looky here boys and girls its fullblood time! This guy checks all the boxes. Long, thick, well muscled yet smooth, great feet and testicles and docile as they get. This guy is special and he’s looked the part from day 1 with that nice deep red and right amount of white on his head. Holly 415H is a real beauty we picked out of a Pembina Triangle sale from Todd and Danna at Oakview Simmentals.

The calf she came with sold this fall at the Season Wrap Up sale for $9250. She is quite a balance of all I want in a cow. Quiet and motherly, feminine with muscle, good feet with a PERFECT UDDER. KOOBA 1L goes back to Charles/Adonis on dads side and Slapshot/Axis/Bambam on moms side.

That’s a long line of true Fullblood Simmental power. This guy is the real deal and there’s likely some value here as we’re new to the game and have no reputation or followers to boost him up.

Here’s one for the purebred producers, a cherry red rascal with a little slash of chrome on his forehead. This guy is a chunk, he’s always been a little roly-poly, but in a good way. He’s very deep sided with a nice wide top and big barrel chest. KOOBA 3L is very quiet and got a nice pair of testis on him. Yes this guy is a twin, but barely. KOOBA 3L mustn’t have shared well with his wombmate because he was twice the size at birth. He’s got great feet like his mom, a TYCOON daughter who we bought from Tom and Laura of TRI-STAR cattle co.

3L’s half brother sold for $7250 this last fall alongside the TRI-STAR bulls. Tom and Laura have been a big help guiding me through some of this purebred stuff.

It’s heifer bull time! This boy is small headed and smooth shoulders with good feet and legs! His dam is a moderate Highnoon female that just gives her all.

This bull is a total outcross to anything in North America. His grandam was the former high selling mature cow at the Bar 5 dispersal that commanded $24,000 that day. He goes back to the “ Holzer Ida” cow family out of South Africa. Bud with confidence, he will be good!

terms and conditions TERMS - The terms of the sale are cash, cheque, e-transfer, or wire and are due at the time of sale, unless other arrangements have been made between buyer and seller prior to the sale. Transcon reserves the right to charge interest at a rate of 2% per month on overdue accounts. The right of property shall not pass until after settlement is made. Transcon Livestock Corp. reserves the right to require a certified cheque as settlement before releasing any sale cattle. Should any purchaser fail to settle for their purchase Transcon Livestock Corp. reserves full power to resell the animal to the best advantage either publicly or privately, without further notice. Any loss arising from such resale together with keep and all other expenses shall be payable by the defaulter. All settlements must be made with the clerks of the sale before any cattle will be released. Transcon Livestock Corp and/or the Auctioneer shall have the right to refuse bids from anyone who has a previous record of default in payment or who has not made proper credit clearance prior to the sale with the owner or Sale Managers.

BID - No private sales will be allowed except as otherwise provided for in the terms and conditions. No by-bidding will be permitted.

SALES TAXES – Applicable sales taxes will be charged on semen, embryos, and trucking fees (if listed), respective to the home province of the buyer, not the seller.

DISPUTES - In cases of disputes, bidding will be reopened between the parties involved. If no further bid is made the buyer will be the person from whom the auctioneer accepted the last bid. The auctioneer’s decision in such matters will be final.

PURCHASER’S RISK - Each animal becomes the risk of the purchaser as soon as sold. Animals will be cared for at the purchaser’s risk for a reasonable length of time.

INSURANCE – Each animal becomes the risk of the purchaser at the time of sale and should be insured.

Animals returning to the seller’s farm must be insured.

US BUYERS – There is an additional charge (approximately $300.00 US dollars) that will be applied to each animal purchased. This covers documentation, vet inspections/testing required to export. This cost does not include transportation or brokerage which is the responsibility of the buyer.

CATTLE PICTURES AND INFORMATION PROVIDED - The images in this catalogue are believed to be accurate representations of the individual animals and the information contained in this catalogue is provided by the seller and believed to be true and accurate. Transcon Livestock Corp. and catalogue designers/ producers assume no responsibility if the images and/or information as received have been altered or is inaccurate.

ANNOUNCEMENTS – All announcements from the auction block will take precedence over the printed matter in the catalogue. Buyers are therefore cautioned to pay attention to any such announcements.

CERTIFICATE OF REGISTRY - A registration/recordation certificate issued by the applicable breed association and duly transferred will be furnished to the buyer of each animal after settlement has been made.

It is the responsibility of the buyer to determine the acceptance of this certificate in any other association.

SHIPPING - Assistance will be given in making shipment after the sale but no risk is assumed by the Sales Management or Seller. Expenses incurred are the responsibility of the purchaser. Purchasers are requested to furnish shipping instructions when making settlement.

BREEDERS GUARANTEE - As per applicable Canadian Breed Association Breeding Guarantee guidelines.

Copies are available at the sale settlement desk to be picked up by the buyer at any time. In no event shall the seller be responsible for reimbursing more than the purchase price. EXCEPTION TO GUARANTEE - In cases where the animal is subjected to any hormonal or surgical reproduction techniques after the sale, the guarantee shall be null and void.

HEALTH - It is the buyer’s responsibility to determine health requirements for importing any animal into his province or state. Transcon Livestock Corp. assumes no responsibility for the health status of any animal in the sale.

EMBRYO & SEMEN – Full settlement must be made before release is done and shipping arrangements should be done within 30 days of the sale unless arrangements made between buyer and seller prior to the sale. Shipping arrangements and costs are the expense of the purchaser once release has been given.

ACCIDENTS - Although every precaution will be taken to protect the safety and comfort of buyers, neither the Sales Management, auctioneer, consignors, or Association assumes any responsibility in this matter and disclaims any liability legal or otherwise in the event of accident or loss of property.

RIGHTS AND OBLIGATIONS - The above terms and conditions of the sale shall constitute a contract between the buyer and the seller and be equally binding to both. Resale of animals following purchase in this sale shall constitute a separate transaction and the rights and obligations of the two parties connected thereto are not covered by the terms and conditions of this sale.

TRANSCON LIVESTOCK CORP. IS AGENT ONLY - It is to be clearly understood that Transcon Livestock Corp. is only acting as a medium between buyer and seller and is not in any way responsible for any failure on the part of either party to live up to his obligations. Neither does Transcon Livestock Corp. assume any financial obligations to collect or enforce collection of any monies between parties. Any legal action that may be taken, in exceptional cases, must be between buyer and seller.
