As we celebrate 35 years, we would like to welcome you to our Annual Bull Sale on behalf of the Howe and Rosso families at the Howe Farm Sale Barn. Certainly, this would not have been possible without the support of our customers who have become our friends over the last 35 years. We are extremely proud of the set of bulls we have on offer this year. These bulls are the result of over 98 years spent in the purebred business by the Howe and Rosso families.
What an incredible rebound the beef industry has taken, seeing record prices which is helping to make it a viable industry. Now more than ever top-quality cattle are going to bring a huge premium. With these good times good quality is going to help keep a person’s operation viable with all the rising input costs.
We have followed a strict selection protocol to bring you the very best set of bulls each and every year for the last 35 years. These bulls are the result of a hardworking set of cows where good feet, legs and udders are taken very seriously.
The sale will again be broadcast by DLMS for your convenience. We welcome and encourage your visits to the Howe or Rosso Farms to look over the sale offering. You can also see all the bulls at the Howe Farm Sale Site beginning the afternoon of Sunday March 30, 2025 right up to sale day.
We are very proud of our offering and are willing to stand behind all of these bulls. If you have any questions about the sale offering, please feel free to contact any of the consignors for further information. If you cannot make it sale day, we are more than happy to help you find your next bulls through our Sight–unseen program or you can bid through the DLMS online sale broadcast. You can buy with confidence from our programs.

In putting together our catalogue it is hard to believe that we have been breeding Charolais cattle since 1968 and Angus cattle since 1985. We believe it is no accident that this set of bulls is this strong. These bulls represent what we have strived for over the last 57 years. They have very moderate birth weights and still have the growth and performance the breeds represent to the commercial industry.
You have to appreciate the hair coat these bulls carry along with strong feet and legs and cleanliness through the sheath. These bulls are all from strong cow families that speak for themselves in what the bulls have sired for sons/daughters. We are very conscious of having good feet on our cattle to help extend their longevity and ability to travel in all kinds of pasture terrain.
With the increasing demand for 2-year-old bulls, we set aside a group of young and promising calves to sell to this market. Since 2018 when we bred our first group of cows in the fall, our offering now includes long yearling bulls. We brought these bulls along with our yearling bulls on a Complete TMR Ration until April. They were then switched on to a high forage/backgrounding ration until turned out on pasture in August. In November we brought these bulls in along with our own herd sires to finish their development into the phenomenal set of bulls you see.
Take a look at the pictures/videos of these bulls. You can see that this is as strong of a set of 2-year-old, long yearling and yearling bulls as we have ever offered to producers. We feel you will find something to fit your program needs.
We are proud of every one of these calves and that’s why they wear our brand on their hip. We currently calve 295 cows between the two breeds. Our offering now includes Yearling, Long Yearling and Two-Year Old Bulls.
We look forward to you joining us on April 2, 2025 for our 35 th Annual Bull Sale at the Sale Barn.

As we mark 40 years in the business, we take pride in the fact that over 1,000 bulls have been sold and delivered to farms across Canada. Reflecting on our journey, we remain committed to the principles that have guided us from the very beginning.
At Rosso Charolais, we prefer using walking sires because it allows the cows to be bred naturally while we focus on the busy haying season. By purchasing herd bulls to roam our pastures, we can observe their breeding behavior and performance under practical ranch conditions. We carefully select bulls based on key traits like structural soundness, calving ease, and overall performance - traits we strive to pass on to the bulls we offer to our customers.
We welcome you to our 35th sale! Please join us for lunch, a visit and beverage. Also, everyone is welcome to visit the farm to walk through the bull pen prior to the sale date. If you have any questions, please feel free to give us a call.

What does this mean?
You may have noticed this logo on our Charolais pedigrees. This means that the animal has been 50K/100K DNA tested meaning the accuracy for that animal’s EDP increases. This genomically-enhanced EDP allows us to greatly enhance our selection process and better predict the genetic potential of that animal.
Take a look at the bulls actual weaning weights to compare the weights of your weaned calves.
From weaning, Rosso Charolais bulls are fed rations to grow and develop, not fatten. The bulls are fed a 62-65 TDN grain ration and alfalfa hay.
Numbers are subject to amount of feed fed. We believe in calving ease, and cattle that will work for you on the range.
