VIDEO SALE FORMAT:
Sale will be auctioned live using a video style format with no animals entering the ring. All sale cattle will be available for viewing prior to the sale, at the sale location. Please allow adequate time for viewing.
Sale Order:
Animals will sell in catalog order.
Genomic Enhanced EPD's:
Bulls in the sale have been 50K DNA tested and parent verified, with the exception of a handful of bulls that were unable to be tested due to time constraints with the catalog. Bulls with enhanced EPD's are marked in the catalog with a GGP50K logo.
Supplemental Information:
Scrotal measurements and ultra-sound carcass data for bulls will be posted to the website in advance of the sale and will also be available on sale day.

Terms of the sale are cash unless other arrangements have been made.
Viewing:
Visitors are welcome at the ranch anytime prior to the sale. Videos of the animals will be available at BBRedAngus.com in early February. Animals will be available for viewing the afternoon of Feb. 18 and a meal will be served in the sale barn.
Volume Discount:
A 5% volume discount will be given on the purchase of 3 or more bulls.
Bidding:
If unable to attend the sale, bidding arrangements can be made with a buyer representative or with Mark or Jeremy. All bids will be handled in strict confidence. Call in advance to make arrangements. DVAuction will be available for online bidding. See page 3 for online bidding instructions. Any bidding disputes will be settled by the auctioneer.
Delivery:
Free delivery of bulls within a 500 mile radius. Delivery arrangements can be made at least possible cost to the buyer for furthur distance. Heifer delivery is the responsibility of the buyer. We ask that shipping on heifers be made as soon as possible.
Guarantee:
Bulls are guaranteed to breed. A breeding soundness exam will be conducted prior to delivery. If a bull is proven unable to breed from that exam, buyer will be given a full refund of purchase price, credit on next year’s sale, or a replacement bull of equal quality as acceptable to buyer. If a problem arises with a bull, please notify Barenthsen-Bullinger Red Angus immediatly. All bulls carry a first breeding season guarantee. A breeding season is defined as the 90 day period following the first turnout of the bull. If a bull is injured permanently and unable to breed cows, we will replace him or give credit in next year’s sale, less salvage of the injured bull. Heifers are guaranteed open and able to breed.
Health:
All bulls and heifers are in good health and are on the Select Vac program. Bulls will be given a breeding soundness exam by Marshall Hermanson, DVM, and will also receive two doses of Fusogard for foot rot prior to delivery. All heifers are bangs vaccinated. All animals have been poured with Cleanup.

We are not responsible for any typographical errors. Announcements made by the seller on sale day will take precedence over the catalog. All persons attending the sale do so at their own risk. 21st Annual Production Sale.......
Thank you for your consideration and interest in our program. We enjoy the challenge of developing genetics that will help to improve the profitability of your operation. Some of the best rewards of this lifestyle are the many good people we’ve met and friendships we’ve made along the way. We are a family operation. Our entire sale offering was born and raised on our ranch. We record birth weight, calving ease, udder structure, and disposition at birth. This type of management gives us an advantage to make a more accurate evaluation and recommendation of each animal. Calves were raised at their mother’s side on native grass pastures with no creep. They were weaned on October 23rd when shots were given and weights taken. Bulls are developed on a mixed ration to gain 2.5-3.0 pounds/day and heifers 1.5 pounds/day. Our common sense feeding program helps to ensure the longevity and feet of our bulls and heifers. In our commitment to offer valuable selection tools, the bulls in the sale have been 50K DNA tested, with the exception of a handful of bulls that were unable to be tested due to time constraints for the catalog. The results of this test provide high accuracy genetically enhanced EPD’s that are more accurate than traditional parental averages. Bulls that were 50K tested are marked with a GGP50K Logo. Ultrasound carcass data for bulls will be available on our website prior to the sale. If you cannot be with us on sale day, you will be able to watch our sale and bid online through DVAuction.com. HerdBuilder Index (HB): An index used to estimate differences in profitability for the sustainability of the cowherd. This index was created on the assumption that an operation raises its own replacement females and terminally markets the remainder of the calf crop on a quality based grid. Given that replacement heifers are retained, primary influence is placed on maternal traits such as Stay, HPG and CE. MARB, YG, and growth EPDs also impact this index, but to a lesser degree. GridMaster (GM): An index used to estimate differences in profitability
for those whose primary goal is to maximize profitability in the feedyard and on the rail. This index was created on the assumption that an operation markets all of the calf crop terminally on a quality based grid with no replacement females being raised. MARB, YG and growth EPDs are traits of primary importance in this index.
Calving Ease Direct (CED): Predicts the probability of calves being born
unassisted from two year-old heifers. Selecting on actual birth weight is flawed; it is influenced by non-genetic factors such as nutrition and weather. While the BW EPD removes these non-genetic factors, the CED EPD is the best predictor of calving ease. CED includes variation in BW plus other influential genetic factors such as gestation length, calf shape, etc. The higher the CED EPD, the less calving difficulty.

Dry Matter Intake (DMI): Predicts the average pounds of dry matter feed intake per day.
Milk: Predicts the difference in maternal production of an individual animal’s daughters as expressed by the weaning weight of their calves. Maintenance Energy (ME): Predicts the differences in maintenance
energy requirements of mature daughters of a bull. The lower the ME EPD, the less feed daughters require to maintain body condition.
Heifer Pregnancy (HPG): Predicts the probability of heifers conceiving to calve at two years of age.
Calving Ease Maternal (CEM): Predicts the probability of a given animal’s daughters calving unassisted at two years of age.
Stayability (STAY): Predicts the probability of a bull’s daughters remain-
ing in the herd until at least six years of age. Females that don’t stay in the herd that long are losing money, and they also contribute to higher rate of replacement females that the rancher can’t cash crop.
Marbling (MARB): Predicts the differences for carcass marbling
Birth Weight (BW): Predicts the difference, in pounds, for birth weight,
score as expressed in marbling score units. Higher marbling scores are positively correlated with higher carcass quality grades.
Weaning Weight (WW): Predicts the difference, in pounds, for weaning
Yield Grade (YG): Predicts differences in USDA Yield Grade score and is expressed in USDA Yield Grade Units.

12th Rib Fat Thickness (FAT): Predicts differences for carcass fat
depth over the 12th rib, as expressed in inches. Increases in fat thickness has a detrimental effect on Yield Grade.

This is a younger, late April born calf that is performance driven, dark red and smooth in his design. His dam has always done a good job and has a 112 MPPA. Note he has a 786 lb. adjusted weaning.
