Welcome to the 37th Annual Prestigious N.I.L.E. Red Angus sale! What a year! That has been a common statement all around the country everywhere we have been. There have certainly been challenges for those of us who are in the beef production business and for the most part we have all taken these challenges head on and tried to move past them. This year as we made our tour around Montana selecting the cattle that are offered here, we were amazed at how green Montana as a whole was. There were a few â€œdryâ€? pockets but the grass was as good as Iâ€™ve ever seen it. There is nothing better than good grass to make you forget a challenging winter. As many of you know, each year in the summer months we make a selection tour to all of the ranches that consign to the Prestigious NILE Red Angus sale. It is a tremendous opportunity for us to see the breeding programs first hand and get to know the breeders as well. Most importantly, we are able to go into every herd and hand pick the cattle that we will offer to you. In other words, we get the first crack at cattle from some of the most influential herds in the business. This is not something that we take lightly as the sale management for this event. This year we were priveledged to add some new consignors and we are also excited by the number of junior members who are consigning this year. The future of Red Angus in Montana is very bright! We often hear that the Red Angus influenced female is the most sought after female in the business and that statement is backed up by several years of data. There has been no time in the past that this most favored female status is as important as it is now. In todays market, those extra $4 to $9 a hundred weight paid for the Red Angus influenced calves is where the profit is. I encourage you to study the lots offered within the pages of this catalog to seek out the genetics that will work in your breeding program. I am confident that the genetics we will offer you will not be matched anywhere in the country. If you have any questions about any of the lots, please feel free to call either myself or the consignors directly. We will be more than happy to help you in any way that we possibly can. If you are unable to attend the sale in person, feel free to leave an absentee bid with us and rest assured that those bids will be held in the strictest of confidences as you have come to expect from us. We are very excited to donate this Domain heifer to the MTRAA. She will really make someone a terrific cow. Her mother is one of the very best Norseman King daughters we have ever had. At 8 yrs of age this heifer’s dam has consistently earned her MPPA of 102 and has always brought in a top calf. This is our first calf crop for the Domain bull and we like what we see so far. They have a lot of length and good performance. We look forward to seeing what the females will do and what this heifer does for her lucky new owner.

This Seneca heifer really puts it all together. She is angular, stylish and feminine with great depth and volume. She comes from our Mary cow family who sent a female to the NILE in 2012. This cow family has also given us a lot of productive, broody, real-world cows. We are really excited about our Seneca cattle. They are very consistent in their type and kind and the bull has really worked well in our cow herd. We think they will make great cows and this heifer may just be one of the best.

Another outstanding Seneca heifer. She is very moderate in her size with really good thickness and depth. Her pedigree is stacked with great cow-making genetics. On her maternal side, she stems from the Mattie cow family out of the 5L program. Her maternal grandsire, the 28S bull, was a son of Bieber Make Mimi and left us with numerous solid, consistent and productive cows in both our registered and commercial herds. This heifer will make a great cow.

I’m sure that Coby had some second thoughts when he let us have a bred heifer for this sale. Especially since she is safe to her AI date and carrying a Feddes One Of A Kind calf. Fire Fox also numbers up pretty well, posting 7 EPD’s that rank in the top 35% of the breed or better. This stylish heifer calf is stretchy and well built. She is long, deep and thick bodied. She comes from a cow family that continues to produce top calves - both bulls and heifers. Her grandmother, a Grand Canyon daughter, was purchased through NILE from Orchard Cattle Company as a heifer calf in 2001! She was put into our flush program and produced many good females for us. The OSCE cow line has been a solid producer and some very dominate female have come from the OSCE cow line. The moderate, fleshy females in this cow line have been productive in our herd a long time. These cows have solid feet, level udders, and good dispositions – things that all cow producers aim for. We are confident that this heifer calf will continue this tradition. On the paternal side, the Cold Smoke 5021 sire of this calf is a mating that goes back to 5L Quarterback and DRA Victory – a long beefy sire that we have used the past two seasons and love the calves we have on the ground this year.

We normally don’t do any fall caving, but last year we calved out a very select group of fall calving cows. The entire group, with the exception of a few older cows, were purchased by The Cole Ranch in Oregon. As winter progressed this beauty kept catching our eye and we thought the NILE Sale would be a perfect spot to sell her. She is a very deep made, stylish heifer, with a ton of cool shape. Her dam, TJS KURUBA T7011, being an older proven cow stood the test of time and raised this outstanding gem as her last calf. The dam a black red carrier is an out cross to the breed. She goes back to the old Scotch Cap Angus bull. Follow her pedigree back and you will find many breed greats including Leachman Bandito Tres, Leachman Market Place, and Glacier Marias, Her sire, 5L Blockade 2218-30B, is as unique a sire as we have ever used. His ability to sire progeny with dimension, muscle expression, fleshing ability, calving ease, fertile daughters with great udders is second to none. Service Sire to Lot 54 5L Like A Boxx 8986-283F They don’t make them much stouter or broodier than Countess E514. She is right out of the top of our replacements. We have wanted to consign heifers to a select few consignment sales but due to calving in May and June, which we LOVE, it made it tougher to fit in other peoples calving criteria. We then decided to breed a neat group of replacements to calve in March. Countess is one out of that group that has always been one of our favorites. She is an outstanding Willis daughter that has a cool out cross pedigree. Her sire Willis is a TJS Berry Cherry 8801 son out of the famed Leachman Sunset K3118 cow - New Standards dam. Her dam, S689, was always one of our favorite Lancer daughters. She was a sound, good footed, good uddered cow. To put the icing on the cake Countess is bred to our exciting new herd sire 5L Like A Boss 8986-283F. He was our pick of the 5L offering this spring. Posting an outstanding record of 69 BW, 639 Adj WW with 109 WR, 1108 Adj YW with 106 YR, 7.92 IMF with 150 IMF Ratio, and 12.46 REA with 111 REA Ratio. Countess is due to calve 3-15-20.

Game Changer was the high selling bull in the Green Mountain Red Angus 2019 bull sale, selling to ABS Global for $36,000.00. He took a 79# BW to the #2 actual 205 day weight and the #5 WR of all 2018 born GMRA bulls, with an ADG ratio of 105 and WDA ratio of 109. Carcass scans are impressive with the standout being an IMF ratio of 156. EPD’s are cutting edge with a powerful set of growth, carcass and maternal numbers and 7 traits in the top 9% of the breed or higher. His dam currently posts the #4 MPPA in the GMRA herd with a 107 on seven calves, and you can trace her maternal line clear back to a 1956 born female with a three digit registration number before you find an MPPA in the direct lineage that is under 100. His phenotypic evaluation ranked him with our highest rating for thickness and muscling, coupled with well above average depth and capacity. Feet and leg structure were rated at excellent.

TERMS: Terms of the sale are cash, check, or other terms agreed to in writing between seller, buyer, and sale manager payable immediately upon conclusion of the sale before animals will be moved. Sale Manager reserves the right to require a certified check as settlement before releasing any cattle. Buyer hereby grants to Seller/Sale Manager a security interest in the livestock purchased to secure the payment of the purchase price, and Buyer further authorizes Seller/Sale Manager to file any necessary documents with any Secretary of State or other governmental entity necessary to perfect such security interest. ANNOUNCMENTS: Any errors or changes in information contained in the catalog will be announced from the block and such announcements shall take precedence over the information contained herein.
