Welcome to the 13th Annual Kick Off Classic Sale! The Kick Off Classic sale has a long established reputation of being one of the Midwest’s premier Red Angus events. This year’s offering has several intriguing females as we will offer cattle that will fit into any breeding program in existence. Within the pages of this catalog you will find all classes of breeding cattle from show heifer prospects to replacement females to donor quality cows. New this year is also the offering of three elite bulls from the McDonald Red Angus herd. If you are in the market for a strong herd bull for your fall calving program, be sure to look at these boys! It is Kaye and my pleasure to bring you this set of genetics and we encourage you to study the lots being offered here to source out the genetics that will best fit your breeding program. If you have specific questions about any of the lots being offered, please feel free to call either the consignors directly or myself and we will be more than happy to help you in any way that we possibly can. As we travel around the country with our business it is still very apparent that Red Angus are the “go to female” for many ranches whether they are commercial or purebred. Red Angus genetics are still holding strong in the reports from superior. The Red Angus females that sell through their service are still bringing from $4 to $8 a hundred more than their closest counterparts. It is my opinion that the Red Angus female is the greatest maternal cow on earth! When I started to together the group of females that would go on this sale I knew I needed to offer our very best, nothing held back, I knew I needed to offer a true sale highlight, I thought this young donor in the prime of her life fit the bill. Baroness was one of the high selling young cows in the Weidenbach Ranch dispersal a couple years ago, we have since flushed her a few times and we have ET heifer pregnancies out of her due next spring. The intriguing Power Eye bull calf that sells by her side was conceived after we completed her flush work last year. I originally purchased this female for her near perfect phenotype and outcross pedigree, she was a perfect choice for our go-to line-up of bulls. This cow is a maternal masterpiece, combining perfect phenotype and perfect udder conformation with fertility and fleshing ability. She survived as 2 year old up in South Dakota during the drought, she with thrive in any situation. Whether you are looking for your next donor or just a female to build a herd around, she is the front pasture kind. The 736T daughters always have extra look and pizazz and this female is no different. Back in 2012 Wesley Walker bought a full sister to this female and she won all 3 majors in Texas. This one is an easy keeping kind of female that will make an excellent cow and thrive in any situation. Her sire Doc Holliday is known for making productive cows and that’s is exactly what he has done here.

This female’s name describes her perfectly, she is one that is extra good in her phenotype and has that dark red wine color. This female is the total package for me, combining one of my favorite pedigrees in the offering with an outstanding look, she is extra, extra deep bodied, long necked and feminine fronted, and really resembles her gorgeous dam. I talk a lot about cow families because I believe in the donors behind these females. The dam of this female, 906W, is one of my all time favorite cows, she is an absolute belly dragger with excellent feet and legs underneath her, she is 10 years old and will drop another natural calf this fall. Here is a black/red carrier from the Blackcap Princess family that has consistently produced high indexing bulls at university test stations for us. The Red side of her pedigree includes Hard Drive and Fusion which sire some of the best. The Black side is dominated by Schaff bulls which seem to be the rage in Black Angus. Phenotypically, this heifer has the deep rib and big hip of the Hard Drives and the elegant front end of the SAV breeding. Her 9969 had a beautiful udder and I would expect no less from her.

Lakota 822 is a typical Epic female being moderate framed, low maintenance, deep ribbed and easy fleshing. Her donor dam was very correct with femininity and udder quality. We have progeny from many sires and they are consisistently good. 822 has a sweet disposition as well.

Rte 9 FRC Isla 88 is a solid yearling by LSF Forecast 2253Z. Her dam is a Red Brylor Kodiak daughter out of the BHC Tilda cow,a purchase by the Hereafter confederation of several top breeders who put together a great set of cows and then dispersed a couple years back. KS Minola just turned a year old and could be easily incorporated into a fall herd or held for Spring. By Tree lane King of Spades,the Card Shark son out of the same dam as Perfect Storm this heifer is an ET daughter of SSS Minola 2U a former Damar donor and dam of many animals formerly in their show string. Sale Manager reserves the right to require a certified check as settlement before releasing any cattle.
