Terms & Conditions:
The cattle sell under the suggested terms and conditions of the American Angus Association (02/18/2009). Terms of the sale are cash unless prior arrangements have been made. All supplements to this catalog or announcements made from the block take precedence over what is written in this sale book.
Liability:
All persons attending the sale and related functions do so at their own risk. JR Ranch, its staff and representatives assume no liability, legal or otherwise, for any accidents or injuries that may occur.
Inspection of Cattle:
Cattle are available for inspection at their respective ranches any time prior to the sale and at the sale barn on November 20th. Buyers are invited to come early, view the cattle and enjoy refreshments on sale day.
Health and Fertility:
All bulls have passed a complete semen evaluation. OUT OF STATE BUYERS: bulls will not be TRICH tested prior to the sale. Bulls selling to out of state buyers will be TRICH tested after the sale and delivered. Call Jeff with any questions. Bulls are guaranteed to be fertile.
Delivery:
Bulls: Pick up your BULLS within 5 days and receive a $50/hd credit. Bulls will be delivered as soon as possible (weather permitting). Females: We will not be providing delivery. We would like to have all females to their new homes within five days of the sale. We will assist with trucking arrangements if needed.
Bull Wintering: We will keep bulls and deliver them in the spring for $300/hd. Wintering fee is due sale day.
Satisfaction Guarantee:
All bulls selling for $2500 or more are guaranteed against injury or death for the first breeding season. If for any reason, you are not satisfied with a bull, we will bring you another one, or refund your money (minus salvage value). Cows sold as bred are guaranteed to calve by May 1st. If a bred female fails to calve we will refund your purchase price (minus salvage value). We intend for our cattle to be profitable for you to own.

For awhile this spring, none of us really knew where we were headed; the uncertainty was everywhere. But here we are in October, pumpkin harvest is wrapping up, hay is all in the stack, the grain is in the bin and the calves are getting big. Those of us taxed with the responsibility of feeding our country; feeding the world, are still getting it done. I’ve said it before and will repeat myself once again. The American Farmers and Ranchers simply are the best at what we do. Feed the world. Great job everyone! We didn’t fold. We didn’t crumble. We did not curl up in the corner and wait for the worst to happen. We rose to the challenge and simply just went back to work while most of Urban America around us imploded for a plethora of pathetic, ill-founded reasons. We truly are the backbone of America. And I just want to personally thank each of you for standing tall and staying true. May God continue to bless and protect America. Now that I’ve got that off my heart, I’d like to thank you all for taking the time to view our offering this fall. It’s not as big as some other years but frankly, we are all just a bit wore out around here! I think we all agree that it’s been a long one. We have a SOLID set of forage developed bulls. Not bulls that were on a pasture with a feed bunk in the corner either. These bulls were born on grass, spent their first summer on grass, wintered on grass and are still on grass. Supplement was salt and mineral with no added protein. They went into the feedlot on September 17th to a ration of haylage, triticale silage, barley hay and alfalfa. No corn added. They certainly are not as big and bold as if I had grown them out to 1800 lbs. But I like what we are doing and am determined to find the cattle that thrive on grass. Pretty hard to do that at a feed bunk full of corn. If you see thickness or muscle, I promise you it is really there. We are continuing to work on the soundness and shape of the feet. The Angus breed is riddled with issues and with continued vigilance, we will prevail. I had the opportunity to purchase a load of heifer calves from Ray, Molly, Tate and NaTosha Stowers last fall. I had planned on turning them this spring but just really thought they needed to be bred up and sold to make cows. This cowherd lives in some pretty steep, rocky country and they do a great job. So here is an opportunity to add some heifers to your programs that don’t need to make any excuses. Start calving 3/10 for 45 days. All bred to full brothers. The registered female offering isn’t extensive but yep, they are good. I’ll take this opportunity to thank Steve Wallace for bringing us three heifers that are well bred with a ton plus of quality. Look Steve up on sale day. He’s a great guy and I always enjoy my visits with him. He loves his Angus cattle and is sharing his love of cows with his granddaughters as well. As always, I need to thank the Sackmann Cattle crew for being such great partners, friends and sharing my passion for no nonsense, no BS kind of cattle. Come in person or stay at home on the computer. Wear a mask or don’t. I don’t care how long you wash your hands. Just know you are welcome at our sale barn and we respect your right to make decisions that are best for yourself and your family, and we will not doubt your ability to do so!
