Moser Ranch 29th Annual Bull Sale PRIVATE TREATY OFFERING • BID-OFF BEGINNING AT 11:00 AM

Saturday, October 31, 2020 AT THE RANCH, WHEATON, KS

Definition of Moser Ranch Private Treaty Bull Sale Private Treaty Cattle Sales are sales in wihc the owner negotiates directly with the prospective buyer. Since we made the decision to sell our bulls private treaty, several customers expressed an interest in being able to bid more than the base price of any bull, in the vent that more than one party is interested in a bull they have chosen. For that reason, our intent to have a simple bid off was implemented in 2018. We set a price on each lot which is listed here in the catalog. The sale will begin at 11AM. Any bulls with interest from more than one potential buyer will be bid off in a small, low-key, straight forward process at 12PM, with only the interested buyers involved, either in person or on the phone. Examples 1. Bulls having more than one prospective buyer as of 11AM, Saturday, October 31. a. i.e. Lot 4 is the first bull listed in the catalog that has more than one potential buyer, we will negotiate with only those buyers who have expressed interest in Lot 4 buy holding a small, private "bid off" at 11AM, to determine the final selling price. The same process will happen for any other bulls (in numerical order throughout the offering) that have more than one interested buyer. This will be a low-key, straight-forward process. b. Again, if you are interested in a particular bull and/or cannot be at the sale on 11AM, PLEASE call us and we will do our best to fulfill your request(s). 2. Bulls having only one prospective buyer at 11AM, Saturday, October 31: a. i.e. Lot 2 only has one interested buyer at 11AM, Lot 2 goes to that buyer b. After initial “bid offs” have been completed on October 31, bulls will sell on a first come, first serve basis. Mail or Phone Bids If you are interested in a particular bull or bulls and cannot be at the sale by 11AM, PLEASE call us and we will do our best to fulfill your request(s). As in all past years, buyers unable to attend the sale are invited to send their bids directly to us. Discrete handling is guaranteed. After the initial sale date on October 31, Moser Ranch would like to refrain from Sunday Sales. 5% Repeat/Loyal Buyer Discount (since 2006) PLEASE NOTE CHANGE OF ELIGIBILITY DATES SINCE WE HAVE GONE TO A PRIVATE TREATY SALE. To reward loyal bull customers, we are pleased to continue our “Repeat Buyer Discount” this year. If you purchase a bull or bulls between November 1-3, 2019, or if you use Moser Bulls exclusively in your operation, you will receive 5% off your total purchase for any bulls purchased ON SATURDAY, OCTOBER 31. About the Bulls Selling

Bull Information in our Catalog There is no “sale order.” Listing in the catalog is based completed by SIRE groups and age of each bull within each sire group.

Herd Health

All bulls have been tested negative for PI-BVD and Leucosis (Bovine Leukemia). All bulls are guaranteed Trichomoniasis free. Call us for an industry update on this major impact issue and how our bulls will fit in your program. Our herd veterinarians are Dr. Ann Buchanan and Dr. Randall Hobrock.

Semen Testing

All bulls will be semen tested on October 15, 2020. For bulls not working until Spring 2021, a re-check is recommended.

Retained Semen Interest

Moser Ranch is retaining 1/3 semen interest in all bulls in the offering.

Our Unique Approach to Bull Development

Bull calves were weaned April 13, 2020. Sixty-nine bulls summered on native prairie. For presale development, all bulls have run in an 80-acre native pasture and been fed a ration consisting of corn silage, ground grass hay, wet distillers, cracked corn and a base mineral and vitamin premix. WE FEEL STRONGLY THAT “RANGE DEVELOPING” OUR BULLS AND NOT PUSHING THEM HARD ON TEST allows them to express their genetics on a more realistic level, stay more structurally sound, and they are presented to you at sale time in “breeding appropriate” condition scores. Please remember that these bulls are still growing and will continue to do so for at least the next year to year and a half. Until breeding season, they need to stay on a similar plane on nutrition, 5-7 pounds of grain in addition to silage or hay.

Winter Bull Care

If you do not wish to take your bull(s) at this time, we offer the following care option: We will feed any purchase free of charge until December 1, 2020. From December 1, 2020 through April 1, 2021 we will feed bulls for $375/head. This feed includes normal care, feeding, and spring semen testing. Any out of the ordinary expenses (vet, medication, etc.) will be the responsibility of the owner. After April 1, 2021, a charge of $3.50/head/day will be incurred. The $375.00 will be charged at settlement. Bulls will be cared for as they have been during the developmental phase. SELLER WILL ACCEPT NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR INJURY OR DEATH OF ANIMAL(S). Insurance is readily available; please consider this option for your genetic investment.

Delivery

Moser Ranch will pick up the first $250/head on transportation expenses on bulls selling for $5,000 or greater. We will assist buyers in making the most economical trucking arrangements for other bulls. Transportation is at buyer’s expense; please insure your purchases.

Welcome Greetings! Well, we have made it through ¾ of 2020. What a year! Certainly unusual and difficult times thus far. Not sure we have ever seen as many extremes in everything as we have for those of us in agriculture. We are a resilient group of people, our ancestors went through terrible times and learned along the way, and we shall as well. Enough of that, let’s talk cattle and genetics. We have an outstanding set of bulls this year. This group has great calving ease, growth, maternal and most of all some really nice carcass traits. As in all past years, the bulls are developed on grass pasture and not in a feedlot. Our sale is low stress for you, for us and for our bulls. If you haven’t attended, give us a try. We think you will like it. The bulls are categorized in the catalog in sire groups in numerical order. Bulls can be viewed here at the ranch anytime, just give us a call at 785.456.3101. We’ll be glad to go through them with you to match up genetics with your herd needs and marketing methods. Thank you for your interest in our genetics. All the best as we get ever nearer to the end of 2020. For many reasons, it will be a year not soon forgotten. Please remember to VOTE on November 3rd. The people we elect have an important impact on our future and the future of this great country. Sincerely, Harry & Lisa Moser; Cameron & Carrie Moser, Scarlet, Thane, Maive and Sydnie

Our good friend and fellow Simmental breeder, Deon Gocke (Waco, NE) has 4 bulls in our sale this year: Lots 21, 22, 23, 24. They arrived here early this summer and were developed with our bulls. Deon's bulls are guaranteed the same as Moser Ranch bulls. Please call Deon if you have any questions about his bulls (402) 440 - 5276.

ASA 2020 BOLT EPDs on 10/1/20

Remembering Larry & Marty Mach “We know not the hour nor the day.” -Lisa’s Grandma Bokern Great Loss. Dear Friends. Larry and Marty Mach, Weston, NE, ages 71 and 66, cattle friends of ours for over 20 years, were killed September 25 in a tragic car accident north of Lincoln. Larry’s huge handshake, huge smile, huge laugh and huge heart made him so much fun to be around. He could talk cattle for hours, and we did when we were together! Marty loved to yodel and put on little skits for their grandkids, and every client she ever bathed, fed, or cared for in any way as a CNA in the three care homes where she worked absolutely knew they were loved and valued. She made sure of that. Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let the perpetual light shine upon them. We’ll miss you, dear ones.
