DVORAK BROTHERS RANCHES
140 Years
Welcome and thank you for your interest in our program! We are celebrating our 140th anniversary this year, and although a lot has changed so much is the same. As I think back over the six generations that have worked this land, it is amazing to me how tools have changed, scale has changed, communities have grown and then disappeared, but one thing is always constant, the miracle of mother cows! Cattle’s ability to walk out into the wilderness and make something out of nothing was the most amazing contraption available 140 years ago, is the most amazing contraption available now, and will be the most amazing contraption for generations to come. As cattle breeders, it is our commitment to stay out of the way of such genius! Miles and miles and years and years of so called experts have been spouting about their indices or formulas or solutions to take the cow herd to the next level. I have always found these rants amusing. Bovine animals figured out how to thrive in plains environments many millennia ago. We believe that mother nature is the only true expert on bovine selection. Mother nature has certainly had plenty of input for the past two years! Ranchers and their livestock have been pushed in ways that we have never seen before. Conditions on our ranch are the worst that I have ever seen or have ever heard stories about. The pastures that we ran our registered herds and replacements on last summer were nearly entirely under water for the breeding season. In many situations cows spent hours each day grazing in water too deep for calves to nurse. Preg check day came with high anxiety, but ended with pure amazement. For the first time in our ranch history we achieved 100% conception in our replacement heifers. 48 days, everyone in standing water, and 100 percent bred! Enough said.

It is hard to say enough about Royal Touch. As we always should, let’s start with the cows…behind this bull is the now famous 112b cow, the timeless 14 year old (and counting) 6009s cow, the remarkable 4207p cow who produced to 16, and the legendary Adina 560 cow who produced to 18. Longevity and fertility to burn! Royal Touch is siring heifers with unreal udders and capacity, and cattle with tight dark feet. Our expectations for Royal Touch were high, but as more and more calves come even we are impressed by the muscle, sexual correctness, calving ease, and growth that RT brings to the table. What a breeding bull! Owned with 5L Red Angus, MT.

Some bulls make a big splash in their first year and then quickly fade away, but the great ones make a little noise in their first year and then just get better and better and better. First Down is the latter! Sons and grandsons will have an impact for years and years. Sons are proving to be moderate but massive meat machines with all of the right pieces and the first daughters are flat out exciting. Owned with Leeuwenburgh Angus in Lethbridge, Alberta Canada and marketed in Argentina by Cabana Las Lillas.

What a sensation Leading Edge has turned into! I bought this bull because his sexual correctness, athleticism, and muscle could not be ignored. It has been amazing to watch him turn into a breed leading sleep at night calving ease bull. When compared to other high volume heifer bulls of our time, Leading Edge truly is in a league of his own! Leading Edge is siring deep bodied, fertile females, sons that are working in the feedlot, and sons that are topping bull sales. Perhaps the most important trait that Leading Edge brings is newborn calf vigor. LE’s come light and fast and are up almost instantly willing themselves into existence. Owned with 5L Red Angus in Montana. Semen available through Beef 360. BARSTOW CASH SIRE: TC OUTSIDER 101B GAMBLES SHADOE 9102

Legacy was purchased because of his cow and sister and grandmother. Legacy calves will not blow you away with power, but there is not a hole in a single calf he has sired so far. Great feet. Great legs. Great look. He has more heifer calves in the replacement pen than any other sire this year. I expect that there will be sons and grandsons traced back to this bull for the rest of my career! These things are going to last forever.

Proven in the Sandhills of Nebraska, Leading Edge is an exciting sire that brings an abundance of quality and balance to the table. He has sired sale topping bulls, and big bodied hard working young cows. Leading Edge is one of those “no holes, do everything right” kind of bulls! Between Dvorak Brothers Ranches and their customers, there have been over a thousand first calf heifers calved bred to Leading Edge with no known pulls. Now that’s what we call “proven calving ease!” Leading Edge sires a ton of volume, true muscle and width of base, and will improve foot quality. His daughters are big ribbed, easy fleshing cows with some of the best udders you’ll find. They are the cowboy kind!
Take the guesswork out of your breeding plans and add Leading Edge!

We build bulls the way that we always hoped that we could by them. Absolutely NO creep feed is provided to our animals as calves. We wean in October on wild grass hay and then slowly introduce JR Feeds “Bull Forage Companion Feed” until we work up to 13 pounds of pellet per day in January. Over 50% of our bulls’ diet is long stem wild grass hay. These animals have seen less than HALF of the feed that many contemporary breeders put through their animals. These animals have NOTHING to hide under fat. We want every individual to exhibit their trueness, naturally. The best thing is, IT WORKS. Our bulls go on to have long careers for their new owners and breed many many females. Perhaps the most impressive number that we can hang our program on is ZERO. We have had zero yearling bulls come back to us, ever! That is hundreds of bulls over several years with no incident. Wow.

This year’s age advantage section kicks off with a big time herd bull. Sovereign Nation is long made, powerfully constructed, and absolutely jam packed with red meat and sexual correctness. Maternally masterful animal backed by Doll 1021y, 112b, 6009s, 4207p, Adina 560 and breed legends like Max 1743L, Rambler 1038L, and Ole’s Oscar. Fourth and Goal is masculine, thick, and athletic. Sons will work in any management system and daughters could help to rescue a herd from the spiral of infertility that plagues EPD driven management. These are the kind of animals that allowed us to achieve the truly remarkable feat of 100% heifer conception during a 1000 year flood!

DVO ROYAL TOUCH D368
We start the spring division off with the most impressive red angus prospect that I have seen in years. From every angle Right of First Refusal grabs you. 668 is thick in his hind quarters, wide in his heart girth, stands atop great feet and legs, and possesses a beautiful herd bull presence and testicles. Number 1 weaning weight calf of the year. Biggest ribeye in the sale. This guy is a red meat machine, but is also one of the most elite maternal bulls to sell in any breed anywhere this year. Mom is the legendary 112b cow, grand dam is the timeless 6009s cow who is perfect at 14, great grand dam produced until she was 16, and paternal grand dam is an elite donor in Canada at 15. Udders for generations and fertility for miles. Maternal brothers are Royal Touch to 5L Red Angus in MT, Duke to Ravenscroft Red Angus in NE, Capitalist to Greenwood Red Angus in SD, Rank and File to Allison Farms Red Angus in Alberta, CA, and Invisible Hand to David Nault Cattle in OK. Truly a once in a generation kind of animal. Retaining 1/4 semen interest. 668 is scheduled at Western Sire for collection tomorrow. Reserve the right to participate.
DVO Royal Touch D368 is the maternal brother of lots 15, 18, & 22

Coup D’état is exactly what we are striving to produce in a calving ease herd bull. 634 is made with a perfect head and front for trouble free calving, but THICK and heavy enough to get calves on the ground that fight and will themselves into existence. Standard with all of the Royal Touch’s, 634 has great feet and is popping with red meat. Maternally STACKED pedigree with 112b, 6009s, 4207p, Adina 560, and Doll 0270 all in one animal. For those who care, Coup D’état deals the final blow with his unreal set of ratios: WW 103, YW 106, IMF 107, BF 113, REA 113!

Foregone Conclusion is a unique piece today. His dam was my number one pick from the terrific set of cows at T bar K in SK. She is everything I want in a cow. 620 himself has a lot to offer. It is REALLY hard to find an animal that can add a lot of bone and structure without adding useless frame. Foregone Conclusion pulls it off. If you need a calf today that can get you a few more pounds in the fall, help with feet and legs, and make beautiful and highly functional females, this could be your guy. We may want to sample him in the future at his new owner’s convenience. Retaining in herd semen rights. Reserve the right to participate.

If one thing is for certain it is that at the tail end of our sale the females behind the bulls are among the best on the planet! Boundless is a female maker that you may want to grab on the way out. Dam is the priceless 203c cow and grand dam is a twelve year old treasure. Add Leading Edge to the top and the daughters should last forever! Number 1 back fat, number 2 IMF, and number 4 ribeye of the entire day! What an opportunity late.

Legend has cow power for days and days! Dam is a future donor, grand dam has already made it into the donor pen, and paternal grand dam produced and was a donor to the age of 16! If all of the red angus EPD nonsense has left you with females that can’t seem to stick around, here might be a really cheap udder, feet, and fertility solution.

Here is a bull that does not flash in any one particular way but is sound in every possible way. I truly believe that 20 years from now we will still be selling cattle out of this bull’s sisters. These 160e calves are going to stick around forever

DVO Undisputed is a calf that does not really fit my taste, but is darned sure useful for the outfit that needs to step up their performance a bit. Use 670 to inject frame, stretch, bone, and hair into your feeders and watch for broody nicely uddered heifers
