Greetings:
It is with great excitement, thankfulness and anticipation that we welcome each and everyone to our Innaugural Fall Production Sale! At Rogers Ranch we have been breeding Simmental cattle for over 40 years and Red Angus for 16 years. AI has been the mainstay of our cow herds. We are offering some of the very best of our home raised AI produced cows, heifers and bulls. These are the kind that make a profit for us and hopefully will be profitable for you, our customers. Our breeding program places a strong emphasis on fertility, structure, gain ability, longevity, udder quality, carcass quality and most of all profitability. We have tested all of our bulls for the past 20 years on Purina Limited feed rations for 40-90 days to condition them just right for our customers. All our cattle are on a continual Vigortone Mineral program. Our cattle have proven to do well on fescue and in our midwest environment. It has been a true joy to watch our grandchildren become interested and excited to be a part of our business. They have been showing at livestock shows for several years. Most recently, Nathan and Carrie's daughters, Sari, had Grand Champion Carcass at the 2017 Missouri State Fair, with her Red Angus x Simmental steer. In 2018 Gracie's Red Angus steers placed 3rd and 5th in the MOSF carcass show. This year at the 2019 MOSF, Gracie’s steers took 4th place in both divisions and had the largest rib-eye (17.4 sq. inches) with her Simmental steer sired by DJF Red Siouxland. Our grandson Caleb, son of Rich and Vicki Casebolt, exhibited the 2019 MOSF Reserve Champion Carcass with his Red Angus steer. Thank you to all our many bull and female buyers! Fall Open Heifers The RGRS heifers have been developed and synchronized just like we do all of our heifers. Using the 14 day CIDR protocol, we are offering them in a unique manner. We will take these heifers home and AI them the week of November 20, 2019 for an extra $50 over the sale price. They can be picked up the week of November 21, 2019 or if you would like to leave them with our cleanup bull you have that option for and extra $100. CIDRs were removed November 2, 2019.

Bull Care
Optimizing Your Investment in Quality Genetics Virgin bulls, either yearling or 18-month old, are an important investment in the future of your herd. If you keep the bull you buy today for 5 years, his last daughters will be born in 2026, and hopefully they stay in your herd until at least 2036. That means you are not just investing dollars in these bulls, but you are investing in your future earning potential of your whole operation. These bulls are still growing and need to be treated as such. The stress of the sale, hauling, and relocating bulls can challenge their immune system. We encourage you to keep them where you can check on them and feed them daily. We recommend access to high-quality forage along with 8 to 12 pounds of grain per day, which will allow for proper rumen health and allow the bulls to continue to gain about 2 pounds per day until turn out. We believe strongly in a good mineral program and would gladly make recommendations. With that in mind, we encourage you to provide an environment where your bulls can continue to grow and develop, while getting cows bred.
A yearling bull will not be able to service as many cows as a mature, experienced bull. We typically recommend no more than 20 cows per yearling bull for a 60-day breeding season. Once the breeding season is over, it is time to put bulls back into a growing situation, where they can continue to mature and recover from their work load. This is a time when bulls can gain back weight lost during breeding season, grow closer to their mature weight, and be vaccinated and wormed.
