PRODUCTION SALE by PRIVATE TREATY 2026
Bulls that Breed On. Females that Stay In. We’re breeding seedstock that go the distance — bulls that keep breeding and cows that keep working. No excuses, just results.
Welcome!
Thank you for taking the time to look through this year’s offering for our 28th Annual Sale. We’re proud of these cattle and enjoy sharing them with folks who care about good Angus as much as we do. Our program is built around cattle that work every day and hold up over time: Bulls that Breed On. Females that Stay In. We believe in seedstock that go the distance—bulls that stay sound and fertile, and cows that keep doing their job year after year. In the pages that follow, you’ll find a solid group of yearling bulls and a small set of open heifers—the kind we don’t let go lightly. These cattle are sound, productive, and built right, with performance and phenotype working together. All cattle have been DNA tested with AngusGS to help you sort genetics with confidence. New this year, cattle will be offered via private treaty. Sale season moves fast, but choosing your next herd sire shouldn’t feel rushed. This format allows you to study the cattle and make a confident decision for your program. Cattle will be available first-come, first-serve following The Foundation Angus Sale on January 16 at the National Western Stock Show. Bulls may be housed at no charge until June 1, 2026. We ask that females be picked up as soon as possible. If you have questions or want to visit about the cattle, give us a call—we’d love to learn more about your program! The Johnson Family

epds
EPDs listed were current at time of catalog printing. We’ve worked hard to select genetics that continue to move our program forward and produce the kind of cattle we’re proud to offer fellow cattlemen. If you’re unsure how to use EPDs in your program, give us a call—we’d be glad to talk it through and help you make sense of the numbers.

Like her for her muscle. Like her for her rib. Like her for her balanced EPD profile—but LOVE her for her balance and structural build. This “827” daughter is exactly why we continue to flush her dam: to keep making high-quality cattle that help rebuild the U.S. cow herd.

I can’t say enough about this set of flush mates. One after another, they kept finding their way to the top of the calf crop and into this offering. This female is no different— great phenotype, curve-bending birth-to-yearling growth, and a strong balance of carcass and maternal genetics.

As we venture back into the junior show ring, I’ve learned that sexed semen can work a little too well. The result is a few females that can show themselves—and still make cows in the end. 2518 is an ultra-attractive, long-spined, square-pinned female with the extras for the ring and the build for the long haul. Her dam is a youthful, 14-year-old cow who remains one of the leaders in our herd.

This King Pin daughter is everything I hoped she would be. Smooth made, big bellied, and wide constructed, she comes from one of the most consistent cow families we’ve had in the show ring. These females have been competitive at every level—from county and state fair champions to her granddam, who was Reserve Champion Cow/Calf at the National Junior Angus Show for the Carlson family. Finding the backdrop is in her blood. 22
