Feed me, care for me, and when the day’s work is done, provide me with shelter, a clean dry bed and a stall wide enough for me to lie down in comfort. Talk to me. Your voice often means as much as the reins. See that I have plenty of water; I need lots of it, especially during the hot summer days and, in the winter, see that I have a warm blanket.

Pet me sometimes, that I may learn to love you and that I may serve you more gladly. Do not jerk the reins and do not whip me.

Never strike, beat or kick me when I do not know what you want, but give me a chance to understand you. Watch me and if I fail to do your bidding, or am uneasy, nervous, or irritable, see if something is wrong with my bridle or saddle or my feet, etc.

When I go lame, I may have corns, a stone or a nail in my foot. If necessary, take me to a good blacksmith.

Examine my teeth when I do not eat. I may have an ulcerated tooth and that, you know, is very painful. If I am not doing well, give me something for worms, for they may be taking my strength.

Do not tie my head in an uncomfortable position or take away my best defense against flies and mosquitoes by cutting off my tail.

Brush and curry me at least once a day, so my hair will shine and be nice and glossy. I want you to be proud of me when you show me to your friends.

And finally, O my Master, when my youthful strength is gone, do not turn me out to starve or freeze. Keep me not out in the rain all night or sell me to some cruel owner to be slowly tortured and starved to death, but do thou, O my Master, take my life in the kindest way and your God will reward you here and hereafter.

You will not consider me irreverent, if I ask this in the name of Him, who was born in a stable. AMEN.

We urge buyers to examine the horses that interest them prior to the sale. To the best of our knowledge, horses are free of disease or defect, unless called at sale time. Terms of the sale are cash; NO EXCEPTIONS. Drivers license is required for checks. Letter of credit may be requested. The sale personnel may withhold registration papers until the check clears the bank. If any buyer wishes to obtain the registration papers immediately, the horse must be paid for in the currency or certified check.

Any buyer who stops payment on a check will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. Except as set forth in the last paragraph to soundness, any dispute which arises between buyer and owner on the matter of soundness, condition, printed information, or statements made from the auction block shall be restricted between the buyer and owner.

The highest bidder is to be the buyer. If any dispute arises between two or more bidders, sole authority to settle the dispute as he deems fit is reserved by the auctioneer. His decision is final. The auctioneer reserves the right to reject any or all bids.

The auctioneer, announcer, and employees act as agents only for the sellers, but assume no liability for either the buyer or the seller. Every effort has been made to insure correctness in the catalog, and in most cases, information quoted concerning the horses is taken from official records. All horses sell sound unless otherwise stated in the auction right. Owners will guarantee horses for soundness until 12:00 pm CT on Tuesday, August 29, 2017. Weber & Company Performance Horse Sale will have a vet on the premises and this vet will be the ONLY vet that can make soundness decisions in order to obtain refunds. Soundness will be based solely on, sight out of both eyes, good air, hit the ground on all fours, and not to crib. Furthermore, this soundness guarantee will NOT apply to horses with problems arising after the sale by buyers hauling or use of the horse.

Can you tell I like Duck Dynasty? Bought this gelding’s dam years ago, only to recently find out that her papers got switched with another horse before that sale. After months of research and DNA testing on AQHA’s part (and out of my pocketbook) they have concluded that they need to pull the dam’s papers, but are letting her offspring be registered, with the notation on the dam’s part as ‘unknown mare’. His dam, who I know as Ambrose, and they are calling Queen Bars Hancock, has always been a good producer of heavy boned offspring. And they are pretty darned nice to look at. The lack on the dam’s pedigree doesn’t hurt the ability of this colt at all.

Pedro Marteen is a 6 year old grade gelding that has been raised in New Mexico. I have cowboyed on him in New Mexico, west Texas, South Dakota and also the great state of Nebraska. He has been through the Show Branham team roping horse program and has been hauled to jackpots since he was 4 in the heading and heeling. He has also been ranch rodeoed on for the last two years. He has been calved on, been used in ride pens and to doctor yearlings on grass. This horse has a lot of cow and has no bottom to him.

He will make someone a super nice horse.
