WELCOME Welcome Cattlemen & Cattlewomen, Welcome to our 3rd Online Bull & Female Sale. We are very excited to show you this set of bulls as we feel this is the best and most consistent set we’ve raised!

We encourage you to come take a look for yourself! We appreciate the time you take to view and study our offering. If you have any questions about this year’s offering don’t hesitate to call us!

First off, we would like to thank everyone who made our 2nd Online Bull & Female Sale a success! We thank you for trusting in our program and bringing our genetics into your herd to move your program forward. Also, thanks to Jason & Julie Lee for purchasing our open heifer for $5,000 that we cosigned to the Reds on the Prairie Sale this past year. We feel she has a very bright future, and we can’t wait to see the calves they get out of her!

Second, we would like to thank everyone who helps put this sale together! Without the teamwork of family and friends we would not be able to make it possible!

Mom takes care of morning chores when Dad and I are at work. Leczi and the kids help when need be or make lunch on those busy days for us! My brother Zach and his girlfriend Alicia for helping to get the bulls clipped! My other brother Travis for helping with any odd things we need help with around the farm. To the two young boys Aiden & Mason that lend a hand whenever we need it! Also, a big thanks to Makayla for taking great pictures and videos of the bulls and females.

Finally, Tracey for putting our flyers and catalog together to help us promote our sale. THANK YOU ALL! How the bulls are fed…. The bulls always have free choice hay in their pen. In the morning Mom feeds them their silage, earlage, and protein.

How the females are fed…. The bred females are not fed any different from the rest of the herd to look good for sale day. We run all our cows together. The cows get free choice hay and a TMR of wet hay and silage.

All the bulls are parent verified, genomic-enhanced EPD’s, carcass ultra-sounded, and a performance test of 95 days. We like to offer as many tools as possible to help you make your bull selection.

Russell & Paula

The natural born calves are raised without creep so we can see the dam’s milking ability. The ET calves are on creep feed to show their genetic potential.

This year’s offering consists of over 50% ET calves with 75% of the bull’s dams being 6 years of age or older! Behind every good bull there must be good cow!

Buying a good bull is a great investment, but it can also be a big investment and we want that investment to LAST! We feel with having older, proven cows standing behind the bulls we offer they have a better chance of lasting in your herd & returning your investment!

Friday, March 17th 7:00 AM CDT – Online bidding opens on all lots.

10:00 AM – 4:00 PM CDT – Cattle viewing.

12:00 PM CDT – Lunch Saturday, March 18th 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM CDT – Cattle viewing.

12:00 PM CDT – Lunch 4:00 PM CDT – Online bidding closes on all lots

Feeding & Delivery

Bulls are kept till May 1st free of charge. After that there will be a $4/ day charge. Free delivery in MN and surrounding states for accumulated purchases of $3,000 or more (bulls & heifers). Take your bull home sale day and receive $50 off per bull.

Freeport Veterinary Service 320-836-2788 All animals are guaranteed healthy on sale day and on delivery day.

Terms and Conditions

Terms of sale are cash or check. No animals will be released from the farm until full payment is made. Cattle will sell according to the terms and conditions suggested by the Red Angus Association of America.

Guarantee

All animals are sold to be guaranteed breeders. Bulls will pass a breeding soundness exam before delivery. Open heifers will be confirmed open and breedable before the sale. Bred heifers will be confirmed bred before the sale. In the events of unsatisfactory breeding performance, either a replacement bull or sale credit will be provided, when the defective animal is returned to us in a good state of health.

Semen Interest

A&R Red Angus is retaining 1/3 semen interest and selling 100% possession in all the bulls unless other terms are state. If semen is collected it will be done at sellers’ expense and buyers’ convenience.

Any person attending the sale does so at their own risk. Neither the owners, or any person connected with this sale assumes any liability, legal or otherwise for any accidents or injuries that happen on the farm.

Anyone who contacts us to discuss the bulls will receive $150 sale credit.

Sale credit is only good for bulls. Sale day is always a busy day so we encourage you to call ahead of time so we can go over the offering with you. We want you to be 100% satisfied with your purchase when the sale is over!

Auction Format

The sale will be broadcasted entirely online at www.DVAuction. All lots will close at 4:00 PM CDT on March 18th.

If any lot is bid on with 5 minutes prior to 4:00 PM CDT March 18th, bidding will be extended for an additional 5 minutes on all lots. Bidding will then close when there are no bids placed on any lots for a period of 5 minutes.

If you are looking for a heifer bull stop and look at K200! This bull is a standout every time you enter the pen! He is correctly made with good feet and good leg structure. He is soft made with a big middle and plenty of muscle! With Rolling Deep on the top side, Hard Drive on the bottom side and going back to the Sexton’s TJ 63 cow you can’t go wrong here! His great disposition is just a bonus!

It won’t take you long to find this bull on sale day!! K208 has been my favorite all summer long. He is soft made, wide across the back, with lots of muscle all the way through his lower 1/3, big footed and dark cherry red! He ranked 2nd in his contemporary group for WW and ranked 1st in his contemporary group for YW with doing it all in a moderate frame package! He will sire a great set of feeder cattle that will top the market for years to come!

K209 is the natural calf out of our donor 358Z who will be turning 11 this spring and coming with another AI service calf! We used U2 Township 17G because of his dam U2 Beauty 17G trying to make some great females. With the outcross pedigree and the females stacked in his pedigree you will want to keep all the females out of him!

Their maternal sister sold for $5,000 this past fall on the Reds on the Prairie Sale! If you have heifers to breed, I don’t think you could go wrong with one of these brothers! K219 has a birthweight of 75 lbs and weaned off at 719! K219 is also one of Mom’s favorites so make sure to check him out!

Red Angus Guide to EPDS and Indexes ProS ... Profitability and Sustainability is an all-purpose index that predicts average economic differences in all segments in the beef supply chain. This index is a combination of the breeding objectives modeled in the HerdBuilder and GridMaster selection indexes.

In this index, replacement heifers are retained from within the herd and all remaining progeny are fed out to slaughter and sold on a quality-based grid. Traits included in this index include calving ease, growth, HPG, STAY, Mature Weight, Dry Matter Intake and carcass traits. The resulting index is expressed in dollars per head born (Index/High Value).

HB ..... HerdBuilder is a maternal selection index that predicts the economic differences of animals for traits that are important from conception through weaning. Expressed as dollars per head born, HB is calculated based on the scenario that bulls are mated to heifers and cows, replacement heifers are retained and all remaining progeny are marketed at weaning. Traits included in the HB index include Calving Ease Direct, Calving Ease Maternal, Weaning Weight, Milk, Mature Weight, Heifer Pregnancy and Stayability (Index/High Value).

GM..... GridMaster is a selection index that predicts the average economic difference of non-replacement calves through the postweaning phase of production. GM places selection pressure on growth, feedyard performance and carcass traits. Expressed as dollars per head born, GM is calculated based on the scenario that progeny are fed out to slaughter and marketed on a quality-based carcass grid. Traits included in GM include Average Daily Gain, Carcass Weight, Dry Matter Intake, Marbling, Back Fat and Rib Eye Area (Index/High Value).

CED .......Calving Ease Direct predicts differences in the percent of calves born unassisted out of 2-year-old dams. (Percent/High Value)

CEM ...... Calving Ease Maternal predicts differences in the percent of daughters who are able to calve unassisted as 2-year-old heifers. (Percent/High Value)

BW ........Birth Weight predicts differences in actual birth weight of progeny.
