Dear Friends: Welcome to our 27th annual Bull sale. We are also entering into our 40th year of raising bulls. We would like thank our many customers for their many years of loyal business. The beef business is exciting. We are turning grass and forage into the greatest tasting protein and demand hasn’t been this good for 30 years! Crossbreeding is also fun and profitable since it improves weaning weights, cow longevity and FERTILITY! We have always believed in science and science has led us to Crossbreeding because it helps pay the bills. We offer breeds of cattle that excel in a Crossbreeding System for maternal and performance traits. A recent survey of top Cattle Feeders show they prefer a British x Continental cross calf in the feedlot. We are big believers in EPD’s. We are proud of the EPD’s and phenotype these bulls show. We have been reminded over the last couple of years that friends and communities are what makes Agriculture so great. We truly consider you a part of our family when you purchase a bull. Bull Buyers often ask – How do I know which bull to choose off all of these EPD-numbers? The right bull depends on their production goals, feeding programs and marketing plans. Some producers sell calves at weaning, some background their calves to 800#’s, and some feed out their calves. Many producers also retain some females to breed and replace older cows. Below is a definition of what the EPD’s. We typically concentrate on 10 EPD’s that have the biggest effect on profitability. We try to compare our bull EPD’s to the breed average EPD’s that are printed below.
