Dionne Farms has consigned a fancy, stout made set of Angus bred heifers that originated from the Glen Berg Ranch. The F I baldies heifers came off the Joe Reum Ranch from Stanley. The Angus bred heifers are sired by sons and grandsons of Fortunate Son, Rito Rolette, and OCC Unmistakable. They are bred to perform in any environment and have the look of top brood cows. They are all AI bred to Mc Cumber Fortunate 235, he possesses a +11 CED and a -1.9 BW EPD. He has been used successfully on many commercial heifer projects and will sire outstanding females as well as stout, thick made steers. The heifers were pasture exposed to light birth, calving ease bulls from Mc Cumber Angus Ranch that are sons and grandsons of Fortunate Son. The heifers have been under a total and complete vaccination program and will be poured and have all their shots by sale day. Mike is bringing the top end of his bred heifers to the sale this year. The majority of the group of heifers are home raised and the balance was purchased last spring from Kim Entze, Golden Valley, ND. The heifers are handled like he handles his cowherd with no extra pampering. They are ultrasounded by Steele Vet and are on a complete vaccination program, including PregGaurd and Bangs. Mike’s herd is heavily influenced with genetics from Spickler Ranch, Kenny Entze and Thompson Angus. The heifers are bred AI to S Powerpoint WS 5503, the ST Genetics, Ellingson Angus and Spickler calving ease sire. They are all ultrasounded for calving date

They had 3 rounds of shots as calves, given PregGuard 10 and dewormed before breeding, have had Scour Bos and have been poured in December. All heifers have readable Bangs tattoos. They have an excellent cowherd that raises high performance feeder cattle and productive replacement heifers. This set of bred heifers is entirely home raised Angus heifers heavily influenced by Spickler genetics including sons of Chisum, who are maternal brothers to S Rainmaker 110, as well as Summit and Lincoln influence. They are sired by L1 Horned Hereford bulls from the Helblings. They were raised by Duane Smith, the 2015 NDAA Commercial Breeder of the Year. Duane has used Spickler, Tokach and Fast Angus bulls for years developing a cowherd with excellent udders, fertility, and longevity. The heifers are bred to a Thunder grandson, an Axiom son and a low birth Chisum son from Spicklers. At preg check the heifers had Virashield and Fusogaurd. They originated in the Mattson herd and the Helseth herd. The Mattson heifers are largely sired by McCumber Fortunate 513. The Helseth heifers are sired by a sons of Chinook, Emblazon and 4x13. They have had Preg-guard 10, Anthrax, have been poured and are on vigortone mineral. The heifers are sorted by ultrasound to calve in three groups with the bulk of the heifers due AI to the Select Sires roster member, S Chisum 255.

The pasture sires are a Connealy Courage son and a Whitlock son from Spicklers. This group of heifers has been handled right and should make excellent cows.

Powerpoint is a featured calving ease sire in the ST Genetics beef lineup and is proving himself as a potent sire of growth and performance as well. The heifers have been Bangs vaccinated and have received their annual breeding shot (ViraShield 6 + VL5,), and have been poured. Fifty of these heifers were purchased of the Walter ranch near Warwick and will weigh around 1050 pounds sale day, and five are home raised heifers that will weigh around 1150 pounds sale day.

A portion of these heifers are part of Morgan’s SAE project through FFA and represent a breeding program that has consistently selected for fertile, easy fleshing cattle that work in a wide range of environments. This broody, feminine fronted, long bodied set of heifers, with added thickness and capacity are backed by a highly maternal cow herd. The cow herd is a straight Angus cow herd that is influenced for several generations by Mc Cumber Angus Ranch genetics. Joe purchased his first Mc Cumber bull in 1993. Joe and Gerald have always bought the very best bulls and have bred one of the top cow herds in the country. Joe has bred and selected this cowherd for over 30 years to be productive, fertile, problem free and adaptable. This outstanding set of heifers is bred to move any cowherd forward. This top set of open Angus heifers are sired by S Performer 5809, the high selling bull at the first Spickler Ranch North Fall Sale in 2016. Performer is a maternal brother to S Foundation 514 at ST Genetics.

The heifers are also sired by Sitz Bullseye 11964, Hoover Excitement P17, Hoover Commander P46, TNT Gainan, Topp Capitalist 5314 and Stevenson Investment. These mid-February and March born heifers are sired by sons of Chisum, Unanimous, Elevate, Lincoln, Summit, Courage, Resource and Angus Valley. Curt and his sons have purchased Spickler bulls for many years, and are diligent in their selections. They purchase bulls with top-notch maternal and performance genetics. The maternal genetics behind these females include daughters of Foresight, Expedition, VRD, Game Day, and Summit. They have been given Bovishield Gold 5VL5, Inforce, Ultrabac 7, and have been poured with Dectomax. They are bangs vaccinated and preg checked open. Mattson Ranch, Rolette ND- (C): 701-871-2268 Cliff, Alicia, Chelsea, and Blake Mattson Consignment: 50 Open Angus Heifers The Mattson’s have built a top herd of cows that are bred to be problem free, highly fertile, and productive.

There herd has been influenced for multiple generations by Mc Cumber Angus genetics and have a cowherd backed by Rito, Emulation, and Traveler genetics from Mc Cumber. They are bred to be maternally efficient and the steer mates to these heifers are top performers. Cliff is offering the top end of his heifer crop and they are the type of females to build a herd around. They are mainly sired by one of the top bulls from the 2016 Mc Cumber Bull Sale, Mc Cumber Fortunate 513. Cliff purchased this bull and then collected him and bred nearly his entire cow herd to him. He is a thick, heavy muscled, sound structured son of Fortunate Son, and is produced by an outstanding Pathfinder dam that will calve again this spring at Mc Cumber Angus at the age of 14. In addition to 513, they are sired by another top son of Fortunate Son, as well as a well-bred son of 4x13.

The heifers are on an outstanding mineral program and a complete health program. They were weaned on October 28th and vaccinated with Pyramid5+presponse, Vision 7w/Somnus and poured with Dectomax. On November 26th the heifers were Bangs vaccinated, PG’d open and given Virashield 6 VL5 HB by Sheridan Animal Hospital in Harvey. 19 Consignment – 40 F1 Baldie open heifers

The Kellers are regular consignors to the Angus Partners sale and are offering a very top end set of F1 Baldie heifers. They have a big stout set of Hereford cows with genetics from top registered Hereford programs in the region including Monument grandsons, a 447 grandson, a grandson of the Oxley 8020 bull, L1 bulls from Perman Herefords, two 5216 sons, a 3027 grandson, a 966 son from Mrnaks and a straight L1 bull from Miles City. In 2013, the steers from this herd weighed 820 lbs in early Feb and converted in the feedlot at less than 6 lb of feed per 1lb of gain. This set of April and May heifers is sired by Whitlock, Long Distance, a S Steamboat son and a Courage bull from Spicklers. The majority of the heifers are home raised, with a few sired by Keller Hereford bulls from a neighbor and customer of Kellers. The cowherd is also influenced by EXT genetics. They are on the Select Vac program, a full mineral program, are poured, bangs vaccinated and PGed open. This fancy bunch of heifers will make good cows that raise market topping calves, as Duane has been developing his Hereford cowherd for 44 years.

We have used this young sire heavily in our program and are thrilled with the results. He stamps his progeny with his good hip, correct structure, and expressive muscle shape. His sons are solid performing, good looking bulls, with modest birth weights. We weaned around 40 daughters of Coalition and they are an incredible group of females; consistent in their type, deep ribbed, good structured, and feminine fronted. The cows behind Coalition are outstanding. His dam and grand dam are beautiful uddered, highly productive females who record progeny weaning ratios of 4/113 and 6/113. Coalition is a good-footed sire with a remarkable disposition that is poised to impact our program for years to come. His progeny sell in volume May 6 when we will offer 30 sons and several elite daughters.
