We are both excited and proud to welcome you to Red Cloud, Nebraska on March 10, 2023 for the Weiss Brothers Inaugural Bull Sale. 2023 marks the beginning of a new chapter in the QLC legacy and much has happened since QLC’s final sale in March 2022. Remington and myself purchased the QLC cowherd in its entirety in January of 2022 with plans to continue seedstock production. How time flies! We couldn’t be more excited to continue to do business with those that have trusted and utilized QLC genetics, as well as welcome others to evaluate this sound breeding program of many tried and true cow families mated to the top A.I. sires in the country, as well as our bull battery.

These bulls and females have been developed on a high roughage ration to ensure soundness, athleticism and the ability to adapt in different environments. Breeding tools such as, ultrasound, EPDs, pelvic measuring, scrotal measuring, embryo transfer and genomic testing will continue to be used in conjunction with the tried-and-true principles of pedigree evaluation, visual appraisal, and performance testing (AHIR Program) to strengthen and enhance the strong foundation that the QLC cowherd has been built on. With reliance on the trained ‘Eye of the Cattleman’ (yours included), this foundation will enable us to continue progressing towards our objective of producing superior seedstock for you with the characteristics of Quality, Power, Balance, Uniformity, and Productivity. The adherence to these founding principles will enable all of us to not just endure, but to thrive, both in good times and in challenging times.

This year’s selection of bulls includes large groups of brothers sired by industry leading herd sires.These sires include Musgrave 316 Stunner, Stevenson Easy Money 70688, KR Quality 8525, EXAR Monumental 6056B, Linz Exemplify 71124, EXAR Fundamental 9186B, Chestnut Redemption 38, Connealy V-Eight, 7/S Splash 415, PVF Insight 0129, WAR Broken Bow G014, and QLC Ice. These are the highest quality bulls and they offer unparalleled calving ease and superior performance with Power, Balance, Uniformity, and Productivity. Along with the truly outstanding yearling Angus bulls from Weiss Brothers are 14 big stout fall bulls from Walker’s Red Barn Angus. An exciting added feature in this year’s sale is 5 head of exceptional half blood Simmental bulls sired by Felt Persever ence. If you’re looking for some extra heterosis, these are really high-quality bulls and deserve your consideration.

We are also offering you the opportunity to purchase 30 head of outstanding foundation caliber females from the top cut of the 2022 calf crop. These heifers are sired by the same outstanding sires that you see in the pedigrees of the bull offering. Their dams are all among the high indexing females in the herd. The cattle are in excellent health and will be tested and cleared for immediate shipment.

South Central Veterinary Clinic, Dr. Jeff Faimon All bulls selling are guaranteed for the first breeding season. A replacement bull will be provided if available or a credit will be given at the following year’s sale.

FREE delivery to Nebraska and surrounding states.

REGISTR ATION

Registration papers and transfers on bulls can be furnished at the buyers request at time of settlement on sale day.

ACCOMODATIONS

Various hotels are close to the sale site. We will be more than happy to assist with reservations upon request.

CARCASS DATA

Weiss Brothers gathers carcass data from our own steers and heifers that are fed out in structured sire evaluation tests each year. The results of these tests are used as selection criteria for QLC herd sires.

SEMEN INTEREST

Weiss Brothers are retaining a 1/3 semen interest in all bulls selling.
