Hello friends!

We hope the past year has treated you kindly and this finds you all doing well! It is late September as we write this and there is still a touch of green on our meadow. As you may know, we’ve been struggling with a pretty severe drought in our area for the past few years. Like so many producers in our area, by the middle of May, we were two weeks away from another round of cuts to our cow herd, (and for us, the broodmares as well), as there just wasn’t going to be anything in which to turn out). But during the last half of May and throughout the month of June, we received 9 inches of rain. That was more than we’d seen in over two years, combined! I think we’d all but forgotten how beautiful these canyons can be. The first three inches fell while Harris was in Shipshewana. I was out in the barn and I couldn’t help but call him on the phone so he could hear for a few seconds, the deep rolls of thunder and music playing on the tin roof. The smell of the clean, crisp air and the freshly soaked earth as well the brilliant green that crept across the hills in the coming weeks, lifted the spirits of everyone! Rains missed us most of the summer but we’d been given a wonderful start that has carried us through until a few more inches fell in late summer. We still have a ways to go but are grateful for what we’ve been given.

Our first foal hit the ground in late March but we really didn’t get rolling until late May. Storms, (both snow and thunderstorms) always seem to bring on the babies and we had a few shake loose a little early. But they caught up quickly and we feel we have a very consistent crop of foals to offer you. It was definitely a year for fillies! Sixteen girls have been prancing around here. We’ve waited for several years for fillies to retain out of some of these mares but we’ve got some ground to make up for with this drought so we’re just going to close our eyes and let go of all but a couple of these beauties.

Jace was able to come home for his summer break but we didn’t get to spend as much time with him as we all thought we would. He took a calculus class over the computer that had him holed up in his room the majority of the days, but it was nice to have all of us back together, again. We’re learning quickly that days go slow but years go fast and we know our lives are changing quickly. Still not ready for all of it but thankful we’re here for this next stage.

We thoroughly enjoyed visitors throughout the summer months and it seemed those days in particular were extra hot, dusty & windy. Nothing says, “We treat you like family” when guests end up running a gate to help sort pairs or running behind mares & foals to see how they move…or tying up, bathing, playing with and walking the foals…and later helping load & unload and stack close to 500 little square bales! We’re really not sure our visitors enjoyed their time here with us as much as we enjoyed having them, (and not just due to the help!) It’s always a treat to share fellowship, a meal together, see the horses through others’ eyes and hear their thoughts and opinions. Not only does it help us evaluate our herd in a different light but it also renews our passion.

(But my goodness! Many hands make light work. And when everyone goes home? We sure seem to be moving in slow motion! And when Jace left for college 2

again, in mid-August and Dallas went back to school? The quietness once again creeps in…and in more ways than one.

We weaned the foals in late September. They had been getting grain and cake alongside their mamas for several weeks beforehand and adjusted very well.

They’ve all been vaccinated with Prestige 5 w/West Nile and wormed with Ivermectin. And they’ll be recent on trimming before leaving for their new homes.

Schooling will continue! 

These last two paragraphs haven’t changed much in a few years. It’s just impossible to word this any differently. But please know, it’s meant as sincerely, as ever.

We thank you all for your calls, letters and visits! We appreciate them all.

And we hope we can continue to do this for many more years. We enjoy everything about raising Morgans and helping people find what they’re looking for. But most especially, it’s the people…the friendships that are most rewarding. We are so grateful for all the wonderful folks we’ve met over the years!

Bits & Pieces…(some important stuff)

*Our vet work is performed exclusively with Dr. Steve Krull and staff at Medicine ValleyVet Hospital in Curtis. If you have any questions regarding the health or care of our horses, we’ll be happy to put you in touch with him. *Health & Coggins at expense of Buyer *Registration & all DNA Test results provided to customer upon purchase. *Registration Applications have all been sent to AMHA. If they haven’t arrived by the time we deliver or horses are shipped, they will be mailed to you when the horse is paid for in full. *Every horse will have been vaccinated with Prestige 5 w/West Nile, wormed with Ivermectin and/or Panacur and have been trimmed. *If purchased as a weanling, buyers will be given the option to have the horse branded with “RG” on left hip. Anything here past the age of a yearling will probably be branded to help aid in the recovery of theft. *We have color coat and gait tested every horse on the place. *We have also tested our entire herd for PSSM1. Our entire herd has tested negative, so any foals we raise, will be negative as well. We will of course, continue to check any new horses we bring into our program.

We tested our herd, because recently a VERY small number of Morgans, (not ours), were shown to carry this disease. We wanted to know where our herd was and to make sure our customers had this information, too. Horses with Type 1 Polysaccharide Storage Myopathy, (PSSM1), have a muscle disease characterized by accumulation of abnormal complex sugars in skeletal muscles. The accumulation of abnormal sugars, (glycogen), can cause breakdown of muscle fibers which leads to muscle pain, weakness, skin twitching, sweating and reluctance to move. Horses can be carriers yet never show symptoms.

One of the most enjoyable things about raising Morgans is delivering the horses! We love seeing old friends and getting to meet and welcome the new friends to the RG family We are hoping to make a couple delivery runs going east in November. We would definitely like to make as many connections as possible at the Superior Morgan Horse Sale in Shipshewana on Nov. 14 & 15th! We do have a few horses heading to Michigan and others to Texas and Alabama, so we’re trying to put together a route in those directions, as well. Harris has been called to work at the Post Office, almost full time, for the next couple months. So if you know of someone passing through that might be able to help out with transporting, please let us know and we’ll do the same.

Prices listed on the foals include board through Nov. 15th. We’re sorry but after that, regardless if we’re delivering or you’ve arranged transport, we will be charging a small daily fee to cover feed. Thank you for understanding!!

A Bit of History Harris was just two years old when his family began raising Morgans. His parents, Harvey & Myrna, were looking a smoother riding horse for ranch work to help Harvey’s ailing back as well as a kind hearted, dependable horse for their young family, too. They soon fell in love with the beauty, work ethic and kind disposition of the Morgan horse. The common sense, stamina and heart of the Morgan, were exactly what they were looking for. They built their herd with Flyhawk and Jubilee King, and those wonderful western working lines. We aren’t trying to change what they built, just enhance it as best we can. We’ll always be grateful for the trust & knowledge they shared with us.

In 2002, with five mares we leased from Harris’ folks and three of our own, we built our home just a few miles down the road. A little town called Denmark once existed in the hills behind our place, so we thought it only fitting to call our new homestead RG Morgans/Denmark Ranch.

We love our stallions! They are quiet, well-mannered and beautiful, with strong bone, muscle, plenty of Morgan type and a western working mind. We favor the classic, old style with a little more height. At the appropriate age, they are started under saddle and later, trained to drive. They are occasionally taken to town for a show or presentation but they’re mainly used for ranch work. They all have an excellent work ethic but most importantly, good manners and wonderful dispositions.

Our broodmares are the heart of our program. We truly love them all.

There isn’t one on the place that doesn’t have a place or a job. They earn their keep by raising the foals out in the rugged terrain and by being good mamas. Every mare in our program has at least 30 days of saddle work. Some of the older ones have also been trained to drive. Not only does this give them a life to fall back on if a breeding issue should arise, but we also feel it is extremely important in giving us insight to their work ethic, their mindsets, athleticism, capabilities & personalities.

It’s a good indication of what they may pass on to their foals. They also handle easier at breeding and foaling time, are friendlier and of course all that makes for a more calm, quiet, friendly herd. They will literally, peacefully surround you in the pasture, waiting for your attention. The mares and their foals have the run of the hills except in cases of severe drought. This helps build muscle, stamina, coordination and surefootedness.

Unless otherwise stated, every horse for sale in this catalog has been imprinted, halter and lead broke and stand well for the farrier. They are current on vaccinations, worming & trimming. At the proper age, they have necessary dental work. Our foals are handled often, and even after they are weaned, we continue with love and attention. We keep the weanlings in a large corral or small pasture to grain and hay separately from the herd until they are at least a year and a half old.

As yearlings and two year olds, they are often haltered, tied to stand, lead, have their feet picked up, etc. Saddle work begins around three years of age. We try our best to start them right give them a good life until they become part of yours.

MUR Royal’s Joyride

It’s a little different around our place these days. Except for a few brief months when he was away for training, Royal has been with us since he was a yearling. After a fast and sharp decline this summer, we made the tough decision to put him down, this August.

Royal was intelligent, athletic and had a fantastic work ethic. He was versatile, too.

He excelled in all types of ranch work, was a good driving horse, (once part of a four horse hitch of stallions), and successful in the show ring. But going in circles wasn’t his favorite thing. He needed to keep his mind “busy” and thoroughly enjoyed the ever changing and challenging elements of ranch work; especially gathering and working cows. A sure footed mount, Royal was Harris’ loyal & favorite for the long days in the saddle. His endurance, stamina and tremendous work ethic is well known and respected in these parts of the country where he’s been measured up against the more often seen Quarter Horses and easily held his own. Royal’s offspring are just as versatile. They inherited his athletic ability, beauty and smooth, graceful lines. He sired 75 registered foals and they can be found excelling as pack, ranch & feedlot workers, trail, dressage, riding, driving and family horses and in breeding programs across the States.

We’re thankful to all who’ve had a hand in training, working, promoting and loving him all these years. His presence is missed but we’ll still have his lines working in our program. We see his elegance, beauty and athleticism reflected in his beautiful daughters we retained as well as in his maternal grandson, Denvers Sensation.

Time flies by when you’re having fun! Our late herd sires, RG Black Dandy and MUR Royal’s Joyride, helped take us through almost 20 years of raising Morgans. They were amazing stallions! They left their stamp in our hearts, on our program and in so many other barns & breeding programs. With Farmer unbelievably approaching 18!!...we are searching for our next round, (and possibly last round), of stallions to take us forward.

We are looking for a 100% Foundation, black stallion prospect. Young or aged, we’ll consider them all. But we want & require the whole package: a quiet, loving disposition, correct & strong legs & feet, good conformation, stout and strong with a pretty face and Morgan type. We are partial to the big, baroque, classic style Morgan, (with some size if possible). We love the Rimlo, Teton, Coal Creek and Caduceus lines but we know there are many more classic lines that would complement our mares.

We’re giving you a peek at our new stallion prospect! We’ve been searching for just the right colorful colt to bring home and help us prepare for the future of that side of our program. Boss is sixteen and although we’ve retained a few fillies, we needed to find a colorful colt with some different lines, that we could cross on them as well as the ones we retained from our late stallion, Robbi Sue’s Ragtime.

We’ve long admired Idaho breeder, Natalie Tanaka and her Mountain Home Morgans. Natalie, (“everybody’s friend”) has been breeding some of the most beautiful Morgans we’ve come across and we’re grateful to have one of her boys with us. Myles is sired by her stunning stallion, Tocara’s Double Dose and out of a flashy red dun mare, Maple Spiced Rum. We hope we represent Natalie & her program well!

“Myles” is an exceptional colt with a friendly, inquisitive disposition. He also has a natural stallion presence and confidence about him…yes, he’s special and he knows it!

This grulla colt, (love those ever changing shades of a grulla!!), with some of the loudest markings we’ve seen, also happens to be homozygous for dun! Yes, time does fly by. But in this case, while we wait for him to grow and wait for his guaranteed striped foals to arrive? It’ll seem to pass a little more slowly. The Color Coat Test Every horse on the place has been color coat tested. We could write a book on this topic but we’d like to simplify a few things.

Homozyous Black “EE” means the horse cannot throw chestnut. It will only produce black, brown or bay foals.

Homozygous Bay “AA” means the horse cannot throw black based foals, only Bay based foals.

How to produce or avoid color: We’ve had several folks interested in a basic colored foal, (black, brown or bay), from a colorful sire or dam but are concerned they’ll throw color. If a black, bay or brown foal is born from two colorful parents, and is tested to show it does not carry a cream or dun gene, it cannot have a colorful foal when crossed with another basic/traditional colored horse. And it will only have a chance to produce colorful offspring when crossed with a colorful mate. To guarantee color from a basic colored horse, one would need to breed to a horse with two cream genes or two dun Color of Horse Black Bay Chestnut genes, (a homozygous no cream or dun gene Black Bay Chestnut dun). with 1 cream gene Smoky Black Buckskin Palomino If we can be of with 2 cream genes Smoky Cream Perlino Cremello any help on this with 1 dun gene Grulla Bay Dun Red Dun subject, please let us 1 cream & 1 dun gene Smoky Grulla Dunskin Dunalino know.

The Gait Gene Every horse on the place has been tested for the gait gene.

Every horse has two gait genes. * “CC” horse does not have a gait gene. Horse will always pass on a “C”. *“CA” horse has one gait gene but that does not mean the horse is gaited and it doesn’t mean the horse will show gait). Will pass on C or A 50% of the time. *“AA” horse is homozygous for gait and will always pass on an “A” gene). But just like CA…being AA does NOT automatically mean the horse will show gait.

And that’s what makes this gene so tricky. Having a gait gene, (CA), might make the horse gait and it might not. Being homozygous for gait, (AA), means the Stallion same…gait might GAIT CC CA AA show but might CC 100% CC 50% CC 100% CA not.

Just remember, 50% CA carrying a gait 50% CC 25% CC 50% CA gene or being MARE CA 50% CA 25% AA 50% AA gaited/showing 50% CA gait, are two AA 100% CA 50% CA 100% AA different things.

Lines from Gary Wallace’s Coal Creek Morgans have been incorporated into our herd for over 30 years. Those lines are getting harder to come by so when two of his mares came through a sale in 2019, we couldn’t help but bring them home.

Bloodlines tell the history but it’s still important to look at the horse in front of you. This is the first filly we’ve gotten from Oakie and it’s been very tempting to keep her. Not just because of the treasure trove of bloodlines that she carries but also because of her type, beauty, and sweet disposition. Oakie was trained to drive before we brought her home. We’ve been waiting “forever” to raise & retain a filly from this 13 year old, 15.3H mare.

She’s one of our best. And this year, she gave us what we consider one of the prettiest, fanciest fillies of the crop. Even though this filly will always pass on an “A” gene, we debated keeping her up until the last minute. She is up-headed, elegant and refined. She has her dam’s beautiful face and large kind eye as well as great conformation and type. With Denver as her sire…mmmmmm!

If you cross her with a CC stud, you’ll always get a CA foal. But to those looking for relatively “rare” lines to bring into their gaited program, this filly should definitely be one to consider.

We are very thankful to the Joey & Shirley Miller family for giving us the chance to bring Jasmine home. We’d lost her dam years ago and then a few years later, lost the orphaned filly we’d managed to save.

Sometimes it seems the lines we try hardest to foster are the ones we have the most trouble keeping.

Jasmines’ filly is the oldest of the crop by a couple months and she received quite a bit of attention before the others came along. She’s extremely friendly and quiet; so much so, that it was hard to get her to put on a good show on picture day.

Jasmine is 5 years old and stands 15.3. We did not get a good photo of her so we’re including one of her late dam, Sweet Surprise. Great lines for a breeding program, should excel in any riding or driving discipline. Fall/Winter 2023: $3750

This is the second time we’ve made this cross & we sure like the results. Crossing these elegant Royals daughters with Farmer (and viceversa) gives us strong boned, broad chested and good minded foals. We were lucky to have been given a chance at Polly a couple years ago from our good friend & fellow Morgan breeder, Natalie Tanaka.

We’d seen the foals Polly produced and really liked the way they were put together. And as a bonus, they had a 50% chance of being silver! Polly reminds us so much of Cowgirl and Southern Star, (and that’s a pretty high compliment as we think the world of those girls). This colt is a full brother to the yearling we took the Buckeye this spring. And he’s just as fancy but in a different shade.

He’s a sharp, upheaded, typy colt with a big stride. He keeps careful watch over his shoulder to make sure you’re paying attention. He was Harris’ pick of the crop at birth and he feels just as strongly about him, now. We could see him as an outstanding stud prospect, sport horse, fancy show or loving family horse. Kateri’s dam is one of our favorites.

Those Rimlo daughters served us well all these years. They’re known for their beauty, loving & sweet disposition, willingness to please, classic style and common sense not to mention their solid build, strong bone and baroque style.

Kateri is becoming more like her dam, all the time. She’s built like a tank but unlike her mama…she’s only 14.3-15.0H. This is Kateri’s first colt.

He, too, is built like a brick. His sire is 16.+H, but right now, this curvy colt looks like he might take after his mama…a little lower to the ground. Hudson should make a nice family horse, western or trail prospect.

Take a peek at Sandstone’s first foal. He’s one of the biggest colts of the crop and has been a solid stunner since day one. He’s got strong legs, good bone and muscle, outstanding conformation, and a friendly disposition. He also carries a natural stallion presence. Been infatuated with his coat as it changed from smoky black to black with shimmering gold hi-lights…we weren’t sure what color the test results would show. It’s official~he’s confirmed black, homozygous black.

Jaguar also came back as homozygous for gait. We’ve seen him show gait when he walks but he has a very nice trot, too. We knew there was a good chance he could be gaited as Victoria has tested homozygous for the gait gene.

But we made the cross because we thought these two would produce an outstanding foal. They sure did. Fall/Winter 2023: $4000

Tizzie never misses. She’s a selfless mama and gives her all, to every foal she’s raised. We’ve retained two of her daughters and they’re proving themselves the same way. We were so excited to make this cross. We didn’t get a colorful foal, but we had a quality foal and that’s what’s most important.

A few weeks ago, Challenger had a puncture wound on the inside of his right hock. We took him to the vet, but it still became infected. Our vet and we have been giving him lots of care and he’s healing up. He still has some swelling, (as you can hopefully see in the photos), and will have a scar. He is sound on it and we’re very thankful for that. If you’re interested in him and would like to see how he’s doing since these photos, please call for updates.

Yearlings~

It’s not too often we have yearlings available. Last year we were a little heavy on the ratio of colts vs. fillies and we do have a handful of colts available; some have been gelded and some are still intact. As many of you know, we like to reserve two foals a year, to grow up for a few years, apply some time and offer as trained riding stock or take to the Buckeye.

These are a very sweet bunch of boys. Right now, they’re all running together and they get along great. After having a summer vacation from any schooling whatsoever, we brought them in to get cleaned up for pictures and were happy to see all they’ve retained. They were quiet enough it was hard to get them to move for pictures so at one point, we dumped a few together in a new pen, thinking they might encourage each other to “cut loose”.

These photos tell the story of them just wanting to put their noses in the camera and follow us around.

They are current on vaccinations and worming. You might be able to tell from the following photos, that they’re needing a trim but that’ll be done by the time you take them home. We would still like to retain two, but we’ll see which ones go first and let you decide which ones they’ll be…so for now? They’re all up for grabs. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask.

We led off our 2022 catalog with this colt, (as we felt he was one of the best. We had SO many calls about him for a stallion prospect but his bay/brown color kept everyone from committing. (see him grow…he’s pictured as a weanling, below, at right).

Until last year, we had not let one of Bright Star’s foals off the place. She is just so powerful and raises top foals and we really want her genetics in our program. The first foal she gave us was a filly, a full sib to Big Iron), who has now given us her second foal. These stout, good growing genetics come through…trust us, they’re the keeping kind. She stands a powerful 15.2 ½ and Farmer is 16 hands. This colt should have some pretty good size, too.

This colt was not in the catalog last year. Harris had some future plans for him but we decided to offer him up. If you’re looking for a solid built colt with a little more spice than which RG horses are known; this colt would be the one.

Abilene is an old style, big boned and broad chested mare that stands 15.1H. If we remember correctly, Thunder stood around 15.3 when he left us. He was a big, athletic stallion we used as a herd sire for a couple years, who was out of one of the best Bessia mares we owned. Not sure he’ll get as tall as his ¾ sib on the following page. Should make a flashy riding/driving horse.

You might recognize Spirit from last year’s catalog. The family/friends that purchased him gave him a wonderful home and lots of love. But as the months went by and Spirit grew and grew? A little doubt started creeping in and they started to ponder if they were the right age to someday, “crawl on and train a young one, again”. And then another bit of doubt…would they be agile enough to swing a leg over one as tall as Spirit was hinting he’d become!

We were in the position to be able to take him back, so he’s here with us.

Spirit is so quiet and gentle. He spent more time pestering us than trotting around the pen for good pics. He comes from some very athletic and capable lines. Boss was successful in dressage while Victoria’s lines are proven in western, trail, carriage driving and many other disciplines.

They’ve also made for some of our best and most reliable ranch partners, as well as mountain packing, trail and buggy driving. Tango has sure turned a corner and we’re finally seeing what we thought he’d become. Last year’s conditions were brutal, especially for the older stock. It seemed no amount of supplemented grain or hay, was enough to completely counter what mother nature failed to provide. (And we fed grain, cake, free choice hay and protein tubs.)

Tango is a quiet, friendly, well-mannered gelding. He might be a little shorter than most of the others in the pen, but we think he’d make a loyal and kind trail, western or family horse. Last year, we speculated he’d finish 15.1 but not sure he’ll reach it. Fall/Winter 2022: $5700.

The little engine that could…that would just about describe this colt. From surviving as a very tiny twin, to breaking a small bone in his right hind leg, Little Cowboy Cha Cha has continued to dance his way into our hearts.

We think this little cowboy would be best suited in a home with small children to grow, play and work. He might surprise us but we think he’ll probably mature to pony size.

Quiet and friendly enough to grow up with the kiddos and make a fun little riding horse or even pull a small cart.

For years, we’ve enjoyed the friendships of the new owners of Bar Non Reata and her 2023 filly by Boss and are happy to be making these connections.

Reata will be making her way back home to Wisconsin, returning to the lady who has been dearly missing her since having to part with her, a few years ago. We wish her many happy trails! Her 2023 smoky grulla filly, RG Sultana, found her way to Michigan with good friends & long time, discriminating Morgan owners. Wish them much enjoyment & success!

This handsome buckskin colt, RG , (Boss x RG Denmark’s Fallen Leaf), is headed to a warm & loving family in Texas! We are honored they came back for another RG horse and are grateful for their kindness & friendship! Much happiness!

The two fillies we’re retaining this year, smoky black RG Sweet Mustang Sally, (Boss x RG Denmark’s Sweet Caroline) and dunalino, RG Darlin’s Caprice (Boss x RG Skiptamalus Lil Darlin) Below: All Ears?!! That’s right! Harris no longer holds the title of…having the longest ears around here!  Hey!! What did you think I was going to say?!! These two have entertained us and our visitors with their antics all summer.

“I need some help…”

Sometimes those are the hardest words to say. Or is it just we who find it difficult to ask? We don’t like to bother anyone or feel like we’re putting someone out. Why is it so hard? Is it pride holding us back? Fear of rejection or looking the fool? Shouldn’t we accept the kindness of others in the same spirit in which it is given? We all have something to offer or share with others and at times, need to receive and accept the help and kindness of others.

“It is better to give than receive.”

When I was a child, I used to think that was all about material things but as I got older, I realized that notion was such a small and insignificant piece of that phrase…it was about so much more! I’m thankful every day, that God, Harris, our kids and others, offer and give me help, forgiveness and grace, when I need it and especially if/when I feel I don’t deserve it. It’s a humbling feeling and as I get older, I realize what a tremendous gift they’re giving me and at times, it’s overwhelming. I pray in turn, they feel the same from me. So, why is it that sometimes it’s so hard to accept the generosity of others who want to share their talents, time and help? And why is it so hard to accept grace from others, when we know the beautiful, peaceful feeling it brings our heart & soul, when we offer all that we can to someone else? In those moments, I believe there is true joy for both, the giver & the receiver.

If we failed to tell any of you the following, please hear us now. We are so thankful for all who offer us their friendship. We hope you know we don’t take it for granted. Thanks also to those who offer us grace and are patient with us when we fall behind, or make mistakes. Please know we try our best. And we hope you also know we’re here if you need us. We have been so blessed by the kindness of people who give & offer their help, advice, teachings, roadside assistance, a cup of coffee or a hot meal, a place to stay, care for our family and the horses while we travel or even across the miles, when the need unexpectedly arises. We carry those kindnesses in our heart and appreciate it more than you know.

And we hope you know that we’ll try our best to take care of you, too!

For those of you who’ve made the trip to see us? We realize what a sacrifice of time and money you’ve made and we hope you enjoyed your time with us.

We also hope you know we’ll try our best to take care of you…“after the sale”, too. We want to hear how you and your horse are doing and growing together. We want to know what we can improve upon. And we hope you know if you have found yourself in a spot where you need some help and can no longer care for your horse or need to find it a new home? Please let us know! We can’t promise you that we’ll be able to buy it back but we’ll do our best to help you place it. There are some very helpful people in this Morgan world and we have been blessed with their friendship, help and grace.… …In the past few years, there are certain groups of people who’ve asked us for donations to keep a horse that was born & raised here, (but no longer owned by us)…these are their words: “out of the spotlight” and to “save us 48

embarrassment of blasting it on social media”. While we appreciate their upfront honesty, we don’t like the feeling of basically being asked for “hush money”.

There are those who are straightforward enough to tell us that they will take our donations but they will refuse to let us have the horse back, because we’re still actively breeding horses and are considered to be “part of the problem”. Others have waited to tell us this after taking our money. We’ve been asked to pay as little as $600 and as much as $7000 to bail out a horse. (That’s before we can get them home.) Not all groups operate this way. There are some with good and pure intentions, but the groups that basically ask for “hush money”, sure put a different spin on things. So, please let us know if we can be of any help, at any time. But especially consider calling us before it gets to this type of situation.

As we mentioned, there’s a lot of goodness and a lot of good folks out there. When Harvey & Myrna fell in love with the beauty & kindness of the Morgan horse, they were also drawn to the warmth and friendship of the people associated with this breed. That truly was a deciding factor between raising Morgans & another breed they considered. We feel the same way. Pictured below, are some of the folks we’re blessed to know. Regardless if we ever do horse business with you or not, that is not what is most important. We might not see each other that often, but we hope you know there is always a place in our lives and in our hearts for our Morgan friends. Take good care! ~Harris, Joanie, Jace & Dallas

For almost 20 years, we made up calendars to give as thank you gifts to our horse customers. Last year, we had many requests for them; from people who’d received one in the past or had seen them in a loved one’s home. If you’d like to order one for yourself or a friend, please let us know as early as possible so we can make sure to order enough. We’re so glad you enjoy them and are very sorry for running short last year. Thank you!
