Dear Cattlemen,

We have been flushing cows at SEK Genetics for many years now. We have had the privilege to see first hand some of the top females in the country. Some will flat make you drool. Those of particular interest are those that have raised a “great” one. In other words they had a calf that won a major. Some of those cows are beautiful just as you’d expect but there have been a few that you would never pick out as the mother of a winner of a major show and yet they were. One thing that is interesting to me is that in EVERY case the owner knows the genetics at least a couple generations back and they know what breeding decisions to make to capitalize on that.

We believe this sale offers something for everyone interested in show cattle. While it is not a big sale, our hope is that it will be an annual event. A big THANK YOU to everyone that has contributed to this sale. As a special incentive, Don has agreed that if you spend $5000 or more, you can flush a cow at no charge (except semen) at SEK Genetics. Also, the purchase price of any embryos will include the transfer cost at SEK Genetics.

Terms: Each animal to be sold to the highest bidder. The auctioneer shall settle any disputes as to bids. All cattle are to be paid for by the purchaser immediately after the sale and will not be released until settlement has been made.

Each animal will be at purchaser’s risk after the animal is sold. Any and all bids generated from Breeder’s World prior to sale date will be counted as proxy bids. If animal sells for less than the proxy bid, during live auction, then proxy bid wins with sale amount at live auction.

Guarantees: • Mature bulls have been semen tested prior to sale.

• If a female sold as “safe in calf ” proves not to be in calf, the seller must make satisfactory adjustment on the purchase price to the buyer or, at the buyer’s option, refund the purchase price upon return of the animal to the farm of the seller. Any claim for adjustment or refund must be made to the seller within six months of the date of the sale.
