Phil & Virginia, Adam, Kelsey & Corbin, Grant & Bailey, Adrienne, Ben, Alana & Ellie Friends and Fellow Cattlemen, We would like to invite you to our 3rd Annual Angus and Percentage Simmental Bull Sale. We are excited with the bulls we have in this year’s offering and welcome you to come see the bulls firsthand.

We are honored by the trust that you place in our cattle and our program. We do not take this job lightly. We take great responsibility in the goals of your herd-sire needs. We are committed to pushing our cowherd to continually increase the value in the genetics we are able to offer, in order to enrich the productivity of the ranches we serve. We place high requirements on our cowherd to be problem-free and functional. In addition, we continue to require our cowherd to surpass expectations of performance, efficiency and mothering ability without sacrificing eye-appeal. These are the bulls that will add pounds and performance to your next calf crop along with added look and style. These bulls are raised by some of the best, fault-free mother cows. Our bulls are raised and developed to be athletic on their feet and legs, allowing them to cover any terrain or situation. We use these bulls in our own commercial cowherd and know they will be successful producing the highest quality replacement females and market-topping feeder cattle.

This year we DNA tested all bulls in the offering. The DNA testing essentially acts as if the sire has produced up to 20 calves and had performance data recorded on them throughout their lifetime. This allows us to show you enhanced, more predictable and accurate EPDs on our sire lineup. Through the use of DNA testing we are also able to offer more carcass trait values. This year’s catalog includes all current performance and carcass EPDs, as well as their percentage rankings for the entire breed- we know you will like what you see.

We will again be offering large groups of full brothers from our embryo transfer program. In addition, there will be many large sire groups to purchase half siblings. This is an opportunity to run full brothers in your pasture and add uniformity to your calf crop.

We invite you to join us Sunday, February 28 at our ranch near Goodwin, SD. Join us for lunch starting at noon and the sale at 2:00 p.m. This allows enough time for chores and church to be completed without rushing to make sale time. Pictures and videos of all sale cattle will be posted on our website prior to sale day. This will be a video auction; no bulls will enter the sale ring. We will play their video with DV Auction. Please come early sale day to view the cattle in their pens. Bulls will be available for viewing starting the week of the Watertown Winter Farm Show. Call and stop out to take a look. Feeder Calf Marketing Contact us when selling Raml Cattle genetics. We are interested in purchasing replacement heifers and feeder steer calves.

Wintering and Delivery We will feed and keep bulls free of charge until April 1st. We would like to keep all bulls at the ranch in which time we will semen test, give pre-breeding shot, pour and de-worm all bulls. We will deliver bulls free of charge within 150 miles of the ranch and work with you to make travel arrangements.

Semen Interests Raml Cattle is retaining one-third revenue sharing semen interest in every bull selling in this sale. Full possession and full salvage value sell on all bulls unless otherwise noted.

Video Auction Sale will be broadcast by DV Auctions. Please come early sale day and view cattle outside as no cattle will enter the sale ring. Cattle will be penned and viewed at the ranch. Auction will be displayed on screens in the comfort of our sale facility.

Genetic Testing Bulls are believed to be free of recessive genetic defects through pedigree or DNA testing, unless otherwise noted.

All bulls selling in the sale have been genetically tested for genomic enhanced EPDs using the Zoetis i50k or GeneSeek LD 50K analysis.

RAML Queen Newday 906 - Dam of Lots 1-5, 20-23

Like last year’s catalog, we begin with a picture of the Raml Queen Newday 906, an impressive Pathfinder Dam that finds herself having the first 5 bulls on the sale. This cow has done tremendous things for our herd in terms of improving structure, adding look and increased weight and performance in her offspring. Not only does this female make some of the stoutest bulls on the sale, her daughters that are retained in our herd are some of the best uddered, highest fertility and picture perfect mother cows in our pastures. We know first-hand that her bulls will produce high quality females and stout, powerful sons.

Driving the science of better breeding There’s little room for error in the cattle business. Producers need the most advanced information to make smart selection decisions, and Angus Genetics Inc. (AGI) provides it through genomic-enhanced expected progeny differences (GE-EPDs).

EPDs that traditionally contained all pedigree, performance and progeny information now also include results from available genomic, or DNA, tests. Breeders who use genomic technology give buyers access to AGI-generated GE-EPDs that provide: Increased predictability and decreased risk for young and unproven animals due to enhanced accuracy of EPDs Better characterization of genetics for difficult-to-measure performance traits (such as carcass traits, maternal traits and feed efficiency) The ability to make more rapid progress for traits that are important to you, due to: · more accurate selection · easier identification of genetic outliers · the ability to propagate young animals with confidence earlier in their lives

In fact, GE-EPDs on unproven animals have the same amount of accuracy as if they had recorded 8-20 calves, depending on the trait. That’s valuable insight, offered regularly through the breed’s weekly national cattle evaluation at www.angus.org.

How do you know if EPDs are genomic-enhanced?

Ask your breeder, refer to the registration paper, or look for the AGI GE-EPD logo or those of partnering labs Zoetis (HD50K, i50K) or GeneSeek (GGP-HD, GGP-LD).

We sell 200-300 high quality bred heifers off the ranch every fall. These heifers originate from over 30 years of AI in our commercial herd and contain many of the same bloodlines offered in our registered bulls. All heifers are AI or bull bred to top calving ease bulls. All females are on a strict Zoetis vaccination program and Hubbard mineral program.
