Hello from SRA
We hope everyone had a great summer and is gearing up for fall. Just wanted to get out an update and share a few things with all of you. While in SE Nebraska we have been getting adequate moisture we know a lot of you are still in hard drought conditions. Our thoughts go out to all of you and we are hoping for a weather pattern change! Our new Seward location has allowed us to expand some of our offering to our customers for the upcoming year. Having the feed yard has also been nice to be able to feed out bull customers calves and take the process all the way to the packer.

We are looking to buy your top-end replacement heifers this fall! Update
We are about to begin our weaning process. We will do a prevac a 2-4 weeks before weaning to get the immunity developing before weaning. With over 80 ET calves on the ground this year we are beyond excited to show you our offering in March. We welcome anyone anytime to the new Seward location to take a look at the stock post weaning. As you have noted in our summary’s we are really bullish about our customer taking the top end of there calves and feeding them all the way out. I have seen it time and time again where the cattle feeder buys the calves and has made a pot load of money by the time they finish these calves. As a producer you know what you have into the calves at weaning if you have never tried to finish your calves out now would be the time to test it for one year. In a lot of situations our customers will sell there bottom end use that to pay off some operating notes and take the rest of the calves all the way to finish. This is a system that we think works really well. No matter what your herd size we do have the compatibility to put some pens together to make a lot for you. It also looks like retaining as many heifers as you can to turn into bred heifers may be lucrative based on the past two years results. If you have a group of heifers you would like us to buy or develop please keep us in mind. This process would entail breeding them in May and putting in SRA clean up bulls.
