Customers & Friends We would like to thank you all for taking the time to look at what we have to offer this year. TCL Red Angus has a great set of yearling bulls this year. Our customers are the heart of our business and we hope to keep offering you bulls that fit into your program and work hard for you. We do not send our bulls to a feedlot.

They are fed Purina Accuration and native grass hay. They are on a consumption rate of 10-12 pounds per day of Accuration and all the hay they can eat. We are very pleased with this feeding program. We strive for good feet and legs on our bulls so that they will stay together when they go to work for you. We want them to be range ready at the time of purchase. All our bulls are born and raised here at the ranch at 6600 feet in elevation. They never leave till they are delivered to you in May. They will be fed here for free until this date.

Guarantee All our bulls are sold with a 100% guarantee for the first breeding season. That means from the ground up.

They will all be fertility and semen tested before delivery. If the bull is unable to complete the breeding season, we will provide you with another bull (if available) of equal value or you will receive a credit for next years offering minus the salvage value. Please call us immediately if you bull is unable to breed so that we can discuss the best option.

Payment & Delivery Payment will be due upon receipt of sale in full. We plan on making arrangements to deliver your bulls around May 1st unless you will need them sooner. We will offer free delivery to any neighboring state or a $100 credit per bull for you to come get them.

Pulmonary Arterial Pressure Testing Pulmonary Arterial Pressure Testing or as most know it, PAP Testing, is a test that is used to find out if an animal is at high risk for altitude disease/brisket disease. This disease is common in the Red Angus breed. It is showing up in all breeds more and poses many issues for cattle ranchers that run above 6000 feet in elevation. It is most commonly found in Utah, Colorado, New Mexico and Wyoming. Here at TCL Red Angus, we run at an elevation of 6600-7000 feet and have experienced first hand the importance of having good PAP Testing bulls.

Our program has switched gears a little this year with us making sure that we are raising high altitude bulls that can go to work and thrive for our high altitude customers. Dr. Tim Holt PAP Tested our bulls this year for the very first time and we are impressed with the information that we received and look forward to making this mandatory before we offer anything for sale. We are working very hard to bring you a bull that is low scoring PAP, calving ease and will grow a scale masher for you at shipping time.

Bulls that have a PAP score of 42 or lower are considered very low risk and can withstand high altitude. That being said, we believe that a bull that scores under 50 can live at our altitude and thrive. Are they a little more at risk, absolutely, but from the experience that we have had with this disease, we are well aware that this works for us. These bulls are considered moderate risk. Anything that scores above a 50 we feel needs to go to a lower elevation than 6000 feet. As they are considered high risk. As I stated earlier, we are working hard to find sires that work for our program and that work for you as well. It is a long process, because there isn’t a lot of data on record about safe sires to use and we are just getting our feet wet, but cannot wait to see what we can do for this disease in the Red Angus breed. You will see that we have bulls in this catalog we would not recommend if you run above 6000 feet, however these are still great bulls that will thrive for anyone that is considered low altitude.

Cattle Viewing All the bulls will be available for you to come and see here at the ranch. You are more than welcome to come anytime that works best for you. The cows are also kept close and are available to look at as well. We would love to have you come and see how our program works. Our doors are always open.

This is also an embryo from the same sale. He has really turned it on as a yearling. We love the size and depth of rib he brings to the table. The Blockana cow line is one of our favorites as well. We think this bull has the right combination of maternal and growth to do it all. We will be retaining 50% semen interest.

This Crump Avalanche son is a twin to Lot 5. This bull is correct in muscle and is out of a tremendous Axtell cow that we are considering flushing.

This is the youngest bull in our offering this year and we think he will be the best calving ease prospect we have for sale this year. This bull didn’t have as much time with his mother, but he is making it up now. We are really impressed with his progress in proving that he has what it takes to grow as he has caught up with the older bulls.

We think that he will pass this on to his offspring.
