Sugar Bars Legacy Sale Association General Information S.B.L.S. Yearling Halter and 2/3 Ranch Horse Versatility Futurity Yearling halter classes are for any weanling horse purchased at our 2017 sale, except for the In-Hand Trail class. The RHV class was established to demonstrate the versatility of the Sugar Bars bloodline; each entry will be shown in: Halter, Reining and Western Pleasure. Each class will be worth equal points. (Example: total points worth 90, each class is worth 30 points.)

Weanlings purchased at the 2015 or 2016 sale & yearlings purchased at the 2016 or 2017 are eligible to compete in the RHV. A complete set of rules can be found on our website at www.sugarbarslegacy.com/futurities.

Sale Terms and Conditions TERMS & CONDITIONS: Terms of sale are cash, personal check, cashier’s check (U.S. Funds), credit cards, but an extra 4% convenience fee will be added to the purchase price. In addition to cost of horse, buyer will be charged- $20(AQHA) or $25(APHA) transfer fee, brand inspection fee & health inspection fee for each horse purchased. Each animal sells to the highest bidder with auctioneer settling bidding disputes. Announced catalog changes on sale day take precedence over this printed book. Horses will be sold in catalog order unless otherwise specified. A Wyoming Veterinarian and Wyoming State Brand Inspector will be at the sale to assist buyers.

ALL horses sell with a negative coggins test and current health papers. Buyers are strongly encouraged to carefully inspect the horses before bidding. There are no further guarantees unless specified by seller. All horses are buyer’s property as soon as sold; and buyer assumes all liability & expense. No delivery is available until final settlement is made on all purchases. Buyers must make arrangements for care of horses at their own risk until delivery is taken. Registration papers and transfers will be held until the checks clear the bank; then mailed to the appropriate registry

by SBLS sale management. A halter and lead rope will be provided by consignor for each horse sold. SBLS or its members or the Sheridan County Fairgrounds assume no liability for defects in the quality, soundness or condition of the horses-WHATSOEVER. A two-day event- for 2018! SATURDAY, September 15th will be the Yearling Halter Futurity and the Ranch Horse Versatility Futurity for 2 & 3 Year old’s.

SUNDAY, September 16th – SALE day! The sale is hosted by SBLSA; and it includes an exciting variety of outstanding Sugar Bars bred horses; meeting needs of those interested in halter, performance or ranch. The sale was established to preserve the bloodlines of the late American Quarter Horse stallion, Sugar Bars. The sale offers a unique opportunity for people to own/sell a horse that is a decedent of the late Sugar Bars.

Sale order follows the catalog after the selection of the WILD CARD weanling! A select group of 6 Sugar Bars bred saddle horses will sell early among the weanlings/yearlings – lot numbers to be announced early on sale day! The lineup of riding horses includes: young ones just getting started; to the well started performance prospect, the all-around ranch horse, finished- arena, trail and family horses.

We are pleased to announce the Sugar Bars Legacy Sale “Wildcard.” The first horse sold in the sale will be a “wildcard.” The winning bidder for the “wildcard” lot will have his/her choice of any weanling in the sale.

With no colt in the ring, the auctioneer will ask for bids on the “wildcard”. It will be auctioned in the same manner as every other foal in the sale, with the exception of the fact that, no one will know until the bidding is over and the winning bidder chooses his/her foal, which horse has actually been sold.

This is a really chromey well put together gelding. We have been using him for a couple years. Good one to do any job. Sort cattle, make a big outside circle or rope and doctor yearlings he’s done it all. Disposition is quiet and easy to be around. Stands about 14.3 with a medium build. Smooth to ride and sound.

This horse has character and is gentle and broke. We have shown him in reining, working cow, cutting, ranch riding. He was mostly used by us for team roping, heeling in particular. We also ranched on him. In fact he is one of my favorites to ride in pasture.

He will never take a bad step. “Bullseye” has been used on a large ranch near Lusk, WY and has covered a lot of country. You can saddle him up after 6 months and ride off just the same. He is an absolute gentleman and is willing to please. You can saddle him up to go get a job done, or you can saddle him for one of the kids to ride along. Swenson-Martin Ranch was the consignor for the High Selling Saddle Horse, AMR Plenty Good, a four year old blue roan gelding. He sold for $10,500 to Chris & Leslie Evertz of Busby, MT.

AQHA Ranching Heritage eligible, PR Loaded Pistol, a 6 year old gelding was the High Selling Sugar Bars Saddle Horse. Consigned by Bill Pinz. He was purchased by Loring Ranches of Ashby, NE for $10,000.

High selling Weanling Stallion was consigned by Long Ranch Quarter Horses Last Chance Sugar. Purchased by Jean Lamson, of Hanna, Alberta Canada for $3,300.

Purchased by Joey Moore of Buffalo, WY for $6750 was the High selling Sugar Bars Saddle Horse mare. HR Royal Robin, a 2014 Bay Roan. She was consigned by Haight Ranch.

High selling yearling was Peptos Little Catman, a gray stallion prospect. Eligible to be shown in AQHA Ranching Heritage Challenges and was purchased
