Jones Ranch Online Elite Angus Heifer Sale

Page 1

Welcome Friends,

It is our honor to invite you to view the 2025 edition of our “Hand-Picked for the Future” Angus Female Sale. Bidding will open this year on Wednesday, March 5th at 5 pm, and will close on Thursday, March 6th at 7 pm. The sale will feature a Race Horse style close and bidding will be extended for 5 minutes to ensure everyone has the opportunity to own the individual of their choice.

We’re especially pleased this year to be joined by our friends, neighbors and partners from MaxLock Cattle Company in nearby Savoy, Texas. Clint Whitlock and Cody Maxwell are students of the Angus breed and have built their program by hand-picking some important females from our program. More recently, they have purchased our entire Spring calving cow herd.

We believe Profit begins in the cow herd. While our genetics are highly competitive in terms of payweight, quality grade and feed efficiency, we only realize those benefits after the cows have gotten pregnant, calved unassisted, raised a valuable calf and rebred to do it all again in 365 days. Additionally, those cows need to be pleasant for us to work around, not need any excess supplementation and have udder and foot structure that doesn’t require extra labor or management. This sale features our youngest and freshest genetics, and they’ve had our one more generation of our “Maternal Matters” strategy applied in their selection.

Since this is an online sale, we won’t have any type of organized gathering at Jones Ranch on sale day, however, you may come by on sale day to view the cattle, or any day before, just be sure to call ahead to ensure we’re here. As in our previous sales, online bidding will be available through DV Auction, and you are welcome to call any of the buyer representatives listed on page 3, if you have questions or need someone to look at these females on your behalf. We look forward to your questions about the offering and we welcome your visit if you’d like to see for yourself.

Lot 1 - JR Ms Blackcap 1394M

• When our ads say, “Maternal Matters” this leadoff heifer and her supporting cow family is what we’re talking about.

• We’d like 100 more just like her type and kind and her profit indexes support that with elite predictions for $M, $Ranch and Fertility.

• Her EPD profile also predicts problem free cattle improvements predicted for foot structure, docility, PAP, hair shedding, maternal calving ease, moderate mature cow size, fertility and better than 1% Feed Efficiency.

• Sells open and ready to breed.

Lot 2 - JR Ms Blacklass 1381M

• Lot 2 is a spitting image of her paternal grandam at the same age, and now as a 6-year-old, Gratitude’s dam, 951G, is as sound footed, good uddered, and easy fleshing as we can make one.

• For the majority of our ranch customers, profit is won or lost in the cow herd. Lot 2 ensures success in the cow/calf sector with superior predictions for heifer pregnancy, maternal calving ease, $M, $W, and Fertility. Plus she predicts to improve foot quality, docility and hair shedding.

• Sells open and ready to breed.

- Jones Ranch Elite Angus Replacements -

Lot 3 - JR Ms Queen 1380M

• We believe these Gratitude daughters are made for the southern plains and the southeast. They have the body and capacity to meet their intake requirements with wet, “washy” grass, they’re slick haired, and they excel for fertility.

• We sell them by the pound but buy feed by the ton. Gratitude’s elite Feed Efficiency, proven by sons tested for Dry Matter Intake, helps make that equation more profitable for ranchers and cattle feeders alike. Lot 3 is as good as they get with a best 2/10 of 1% ranking for Feed Efficiency (F:G).

• Paternal half-sisters sell as Lots: 1, 2, 9, 20, 24 and 25.
