Bidding

Bidding can be done in person, via previous arrangements with the Auctioneer or live on the phone during the sale. To make arrangements prior to the start of the sale, contact the sale coordinator, Michelle Ogle. It is not necessary to attend the Meeting to take part in the sale. Seating will be available for those wishing just to attend the sale.

Animal Health

All sale cattle will be accompanied with interstate health papers stating that they are free of infectious diseases.

Most lots will have more extensive health tests and records.

However it is the buyer’s responsibility to ask the consignor for further information.

Annual Meeting

The Triple Event NATIONAL SHOWS, AGM AND THE SALE!

It’s time to make your reservations for the 2016 triple events in Louisville, KY! The meeting and banquet will be held again on November 16, 2016 at the Hilton Garden Inn Louisville Airport, 2735 Crittenden Drive, Louisville, KY. The hotel is located just a short walk from the Kentucky Fair and Expo Center and approximately one mile from the Louisville International Airport. Complimentary shuttle service to and from the airport is available. When available, that same shuttle can transport members to and from the fairgrounds at no cost.

We have rooms reserved beginning Sunday, November 13, 2016 through Thursday, November 17, 2016. The discounted rate will be $148.00 per night plus tax. These rooms are reserved on a first-come basis and rates will increase after October 13, 2016. Please don’t get blocked out. Call the Hilton direct at (502) 637-2424 and ask for the BGS rate.

The NAILE is the largest all-breed, purebred livestock event in the world. Ten different species of livestock compete at NAILE coming from the 48 contiguous states — all under one roof beginning November 1—November

17, 2016. The Belted Galloway breed will be in place November 15-November 17, 2016 and we are excited that the open show will take place in Freedom Hall.

We have invited guest speaker Nikki Whitaker, Membership Coordinator for the Kentucky Cattlemen’s Association, to speak with parents and juniors about developing a junior leadership camp. Now in it’s fifth year, the Kentucky Cattlemen’s Junior Camp is a two-day event that was developed to help juniors become better leaders and introduce them to different areas of the beef industry.

Nikki will discuss how to begin an annual program and what topics are of interest to juniors. Be sure to visit our display and hospitality booth in the barns were you can pick up literature and enjoy a warm beverage. The Belted Galloway Premium Sale will be conducted via video.

Buyers bid on their favorite cattle following the banquet and dinner. All cattle may be viewed prior to the sale in the beef barns. The cocktail hour and cash bar will began at 5:30 p.m. with the buffet to follow at 6:30 p.m.
