Remember to attend the Social and Banquet on Friday night at the Ramkota Hotel in Bismarck. Social starts at 6:00 pm and the banquet starts at 7:00 pm. Great food, great fellowship, awards presentation, and the juniors will hold their annual fundraiser auction.

ND Junior Incentive Program Rules: 1. Open heifer must be purchased at the ND State Simmental Classic Sale. Purebred or 50% or higher percentage heifers qualify to show. Sale credit applies to the show season immediately following the sale.

Example if heifer is purchased in December 2018, show season would be the summer of 2019.

2. Junior member must register the heifer in their own junior membership with the American Simmental Association.

Junior member listed as a representative under an adult membership does not qualify.

3. Junior member must be a member of the ND Junior Simmental Association 4. Junior member will receive sale credit for placing or winning in the levels listed below.

5. Sale credit must be used at the next ND State Simmental Sale. If not used that year the sale credit will be voided.

6. To receive sale credit junior must provide a picture (advertising quality) and a signed statement from a ND Junior Simmental Association Advisor for the Classic, ND State Fair or ND Jr Points Association levels or from your local county extension agent /Chapter FFA Advisor for the local County Fair level by December 1 of current year.

On behalf of the sale consignors, I would like to welcome you to the 2018 North Dakota Simmental Association Classic Sale!

2018 marks the 47th Anniversary of the North Dakota Simmental Association and many of the consignor families involved in this event have roots back to the very beginning.

Again, this year we are sharing the sale date and facility with the ND Red Angus Association and their Red Select Sale which starts at noon with the ND Simmental Sale following immediately after. The two breeds of cattle complement each other very well and both associations work together very well both on state and national levels.

The North Dakota Simmental Classic Sale has developed a reputation as being a source of some of the top Simmental/ SimAngus seedstock and genetics available in the land. The offering has been selected from the heart of some of the top programs in the upper Midwest! The programs involved in this sale present some of the top bull sales in the country each and every year!

I would like to point out that each year while screening for this trip individuals that are selected for the sale go back to or are out of females that were purchased in this sale – a testimonial that these cattle will work!

The North Dakota Simmental Association has implemented a Junior Incentive Program that provides a tremendous opportunity for Junior members and keep in mind that the 2019 Junior American Simmental Association North Central Regional Classic being held in North Dakota. This sale offering presents a large number of open heifers that would be very competitive at that level, as well as other events throughout the region.

The bred heifers and donor females in this year’s offering are the kind that produce those same females, as well as some of the top bulls in individual bull sales held by the consignors of this sale! As buyers you have the opportunity to select individuals and genetics that can advance your program significantly in the future!

• Offering 3 Conventional Embryos. When I decided to increase our red program and flush a Hetero Black cow, that’s when we needed to use our 739 donor. She is going strong turning 12 this coming year. In 2015, this donor averaged $12,833 on her flush of bull calves and has not looked back the last few years with her offspring topping my bull sale along with doing well for other seed stock breeders like Werning Cattle Co & Stangeland Simmentals. ND Junior Incentive Program Rules: 1. Open heifer must be purchased at the ND State Simmental Classic Sale. Purebred or 50% or higher percentage heifers qualify to show. Sale credit applies to the show season immediately following the sale. Example if heifer is purchased in December 2018, show season would be the summer of 2019.

2. Junior member must register the heifer in their own junior membership with the American Simmental Association. Junior member listed as a representative under an adult membership does not qualify.

3. Junior member must be a member of the ND Junior Simmental Association 4. Junior member will receive sale credit for placing or winning in the levels listed below.

5. Sale credit must be used at the next ND State Simmental Sale. If not used that year the sale credit will be voided.

6. To receive sale credit junior must provide a picture (advertising quality) and a signed statement from a ND Junior Simmental Association Advisor for the Classic, ND State Fair or ND Jr Points Association levels or from your local county extension agent / Chapter FFA Advisor for the local County Fair level by December 1 of current year.

• We purchased this female’s sire from C Diamond Simmentals in 2017, and after his first calf crop it is easy to see that he will make his mark on our herd. She is a tall fronted, long hipped heifer that offers more than just growth. She is a big ribbed, deep bodied female that is correct in her angles and sound when she gets on the go. With plenty of extension in her front 1/3, this heifer has a lot of potential. With her sire going back to Executive Order you have to believe that she will grow into a very attractive, good numbered cow. With the AJSA North Central Regional in Fargo this year, I believe this one could be competitive in the Purebred division.
