Announcements

Announcements made sale day and from the auction block take precedence over printed material associated with the sale. Anyone attending this sale attends at their own risk. Sale staff, hosts and/or their representatives or employees will not be responsible for any personal injury or damage to any attendee or his or her property.

Genetic Defects / Polled & Color / DNA

All cattle are free of any known genetic defects, either by pedigree or through genetic testing. All red cattle in this sale are non-dilute. Cattle noted Homo Polled, Polled/Scurs or Hetero Polled - are confirmed by pedigree or test. Polled or black cattle whose status has not been confirmed are noted as polled or black.

All females (weaning age and older) have been DNA tested, but not all results were available at catalog press time. EPDs are Genetically Enhanced unless noted as “GE pending” in the comments section.

Herd Health

All breeding age females have been bangs vaccinated and have had IBR, BVD, PI3, Vibrio and Lepto vaccines.

All have been poured with Ivermectin. Contact the individual owners with any other herd health questions you may have.

Video Auction / Internet Bidding

This will be a video only auction, and no cattle will go through the sale ring. Females will be available for viewing prior to the sale as well as sale day.

The sale will be broadcast on Live-Ag.com.

Fall Pairs LOT 1A - 1D | Choice Lot - Selling two We couldn’t decide which two to sell, so we are letting you pick. Whichever two we are left with, one will make her way to the donor pen. The 7729 cow has been our cornerstone Angus donor and everything she produces has been money in the bank – both bulls and females. This group of females inherited 7729’s impeccable udder and docility. This mating with Stone Cold can move your SimAngus program forward. Lot 2’s dam is one of the best Xpectation daughters we have produced. (Xpectation is known for producing elite females) This Cardinal daughter has been a standout since day one. If we didn’t have a full sister, Lot 2 would not be offered for sale. L183 deserves to be in someone’s donor program. A full brother to Lot 2 was this year’s high selling red bull.

A note about registration transfers on fall pairs: As participants in ASA’s Calf Crop Genomics program, we will be collecting DNA samples on all the pair calves and will submit those after the sale. After the completion of all DNA testing (which can take 4-6 weeks from the time the lab receives samples), we will transfer the pairs to the buyers. Therefore, you can expect a bit of a delay in receiving your registration papers on pairs. As part of the DNA testing, we will test (at our expense) for color and polled on any calves that could be hetero black or hetero polled by pedigree, so that you will have that information.

Klein Ranch was established with the mission to raise quality registered Simmental and SimAngus that excel for commercial cattlemen and breeders alike. We are located west of Atwood, KS. The operators and owners are Heath, Ami, Miles (13) and Hudson (9) Klein.

Since 2009 AI and ET work has been an extensive part of the breeding program with emphasis in maternal traits, calving ease, optimum growth, and marbling. In our program, a cow must be fertile, have

Together, we (along with the help of many friends) have continued with our commitment to our herd and to serve others. We have a mixed operation of registered and commercial Angus and Simmental (B27) which are managed together. Since Jane now may work alone, our cattle must be easy to handle and

We strive for a cow herd that produces quality bulls and females for commercial cattlemen and purebred breeders alike.

Our bulls are marketed off the farm in the spring through a unique, buyer-friendly sale. Our cull stock has been marketed through several different venues over the years. We have fed both on the farm

through a value-based grid. We have also sold through the local barn, just as some of our commercial bull buyers do.

These experiences have provided invaluable knowledge about how our cattle perform and sell. We are increasingly experimenting with alternative forages in this day of higher input costs and limited availability of grass.

Sale, selling registered Simmental and SimAngus bulls, and locally raised commercial females. In addition to selling bulls, we have marketed our feeder cattle through Superior Livestock and have sold finished cattle on a value grid basis. Our registered cattle and commercial herd are managed the same way. Because of this management, we believe that these females will excel in any environment put in front of them.
