Welcome Fellow Cattlemen & Cattlewomen, Once again it is bull season! Hard to believe how fast the year goes by. Fred Ranch would like to thank our past customers for believing in and using our bulls. Also thank you for the new interest shown already. We don’t think you will be disappointed with our offering. This year we have decided to sell 10 Registered and Composite open females after the bulls. They will be cataloged that way.

Fred Ranch feels with the offering in the catalog, you as a buyer can add significant value to your operation if you give us a chance to help you go over the breeding and numbers of the bulls. Maybe you’re ready for some changes in your catttle program. If so the Fred Ranch genetics has been around for 47+ years. Our cattle have been known for good disposition, calving ease, growth and performance (whether it be in the cow herd, feedlot, or show ring). A title that keeps coming up about our program is “Salt of the Earth” - maybe not as flashy in the limelight, but known to stand behind our cattle. These bulls carry the “First breeding season from injury guarantee”.

We are very pleased to offer semen from this Charolais herd sire who is doing everything we could possibly hope for with his proven progeny.. Used on heifers with no problems, but he should cause we bred his ancestors for these different taits and not just growth. Many people are looking for functional cattle that breed back with out owning an irrigation system to make them function properly. So far all ultrasound information is very satisfactory. He also has some of the qualities useful for raising good gentle and hairy calves for the show ring!

“Omaha” was the top selling Charolais Bull in our 2014 sale. He sold to Scott Neidhardt at Albion, NE. We are very pleased with results from this exceptional son of TR Firewater who has built a strong reputation. Omaha has made great improvements for Neidhardt Charolais and has created much interest in different parts of the country. We are getting him collected more because of that interest and his ease of calving with that extra style and eye appeal he generates. His mother is definitely one of our top younger producing females with much power in her ancestors. “King of the Cow Country” Nutmegs Avignon FR31 was the first bull to enter the AICA’s Roll of Excellence.

In all there are 3,740 progeny registered in the AICA from 1967 through 1996.

FR31 offspring were dominate in the show ring and through the auction block as feeder calves. Fred Ranch will have eleven yearling ET bulls in this sale. The ET offering are all out of daughters of Unlimited Ease 9108.— Top producing cows! None of this prodgeny produced horns mated from FR31 x 453 or FR31 x 4919. Taylor Land and Cattle has been utilizing Charolais bulls on our first calf heifers for the last 4-5 years. I feel we have a better calf with more pounds and growth from our first calf heifers when you put the cross in them. We’ve been very selective in the Charolais bulls we use, selecting from moderate and negative birthweight EPD’s.

Breeding Charolais is comparable to breeding Black Angus with comparison to strain and assist needed for calving. During the selection process, I always ask the producer “would you use that bull on a heifer?” Our end product results in more of the heifers’ calves at the weight we desire for market, since we have started investing in the Charolais Bulls.
