Welcome to our 2017 season of Leap into Live Music! events, offering a fantastic range of new performances for registered members As a Leap into Live Music! member you get access to free and discounted performances across Liverpool Philharmonic’s range of events.

We want to be able to offer as many opportunities to our members as possible, which means that we there will be a small charge of £10 for adults and £5 for under 16s for certain performances, which are limited to 2 tickets per booking – more details in the brochure.

This is a still a fantastic discounted rate of up to 75% and allows us to subsidise the cost of tickets so that as many people as possible benefit from live music in Liverpool.

If you’re not sure if a concert or performance will be suitable for you or your family please get in touch, our team will be happy to advise.

How the scheme works…

Leap into Live Music! is generously funded by the Paul Hamlyn Foundation to enable Liverpool Philharmonic to offer tickets for people to experience live music. We offer a range of events from orchestral performances to Rock ‘n’ Pop concerts.

What to do if you can’t make an event…

If you can’t make an event, we ask that you let us know as soon as you can.

This will enable us to offer the tickets to other Leap members and make sure that the seats don’t go to waste.

If you have a family emergency or something crops up last minute don’t worry, but we’d appreciate it if once things have settled down that you let us know.

Kenny ‘King Creosote’ Anderson is back with his new album Astronaut Meets Appleman which explores the relationship between the modern world and our not too distant past.

The Mercury-nominated singersongwriter hails from Fife, Scotland and has released over forty albums to date. Join us for a live performance of his latest release which promises bagpipe scores, seafaring poetry and folk pop, presented with a modern twist. ‘…one’s left with a lingering, whiskery warmth increasingly rare in modern music.’

After five award-winning albums Jim Moray finds himself at the forefront of a new folk revival in the UK.

His music embraces everything from electronica to guitar rock and grime. But at its heart has always been Moray’s unmistakeable soulful voice; singing old songs in a new way.

Jim is a regular collaborator with many other folk revivalists and has also been making a name for himself more recently as a producer, working with Maz O’Connor.

And don’t miss the Liverpool debut of oboist extraordinaire Franҫois Leleux in two tonguetwisting, eartickling musical extravaganzas!

The harmonic songwriting duo and BBC 6 Music favourites O’Hooley & Tidow will be joined by the enchanting BBC Radio 2 Folk Award finalists Lady Maisery and the Leicester songwriter, activist and performer Grace Petrie.

COURTNEY PINE FEATURING OMAR Saturday 18 March 8pm Liverpool Philharmonic Hall –

Courtney Pine is a British born jazz giant. He has won numerous awards and has been at the forefront of UK jazz for over 25 years with his contemporary style mixing modern sounds like drum n bass with more traditional Caribbean influences.

For this performance he returns alongside the soul star Omar who is perhaps best known for his 90s hit single There’s Nothing Like This and his collaborations with musical legends including Stevie Wonder.

This very special performance sees these two UK talents making and performing new material together for the first time.

Join us for a double bill of two of the biggest names in Irish folk music. Dublin-born traditional singer and bouzouki player Daoirí (pronounced ‘Derry’) Farrell is being described by some as one of most important singers to come out of Ireland in recent years.

‘Daoirí is a bit of a force of nature really, a rootsy oneman-band storyteller with great humour and presence and moments of heartfelt sensitivity.’

Liverpool Philharmonic Family Concerts are a great way for children and adults to experience the sights and sounds of a full symphony orchestra. Turn left at the Metropolitan Cathedral and head along Hope Street. If lost, use this maxim: find one cathedral, head for the other. Liverpool Philharmonic Hall is halfway between the two.

St George’s Hall Concert Room

– Situated on the corner of Myrtle Street and Sugnall Street at the back of Liverpool Philharmonic Hall, Liverpool’s newest venue Music Room is a friendly and informal space offering a new programme of roots, folk, classical ensembles, world and new music in cabaret style seating or standing format. Music Room is a home for emerging Liverpool artists, a new space for city festival events and a place to try out new things.

– St George’s Hall is situated within Liverpool’s St George’s Quarter in the city centre, directly opposite Lime Street Station. Access to the Concert Room is via the North Entrance of the building on William Brown Street at the north end of the building. By car on entering the city follow signs for Lime Street station.

Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral is situated on Mount Pleasant and is a 5 minute walk along Hope Street from Liverpool Philharmonic Hall.

By car on entering the city follow the brown tourist signs to Cathedrals.

The car park is situated underneath the Cathedral itself. Please note there is no overnight parking Reserve and pre-pay for parking for Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra Concerts for only £4.

Car park opening times: 6pm – 11pm. Car park is available to book for most concerts. Visit www.liverpoolphil.com/carparking for details.

The car park is also available during the day between 7.30am – 6.00pm.

Situated off Caledonia Street, this pay-on-entry car park is open from 8.30am and is available for concerts.

Please note that parking is limited and is on a first come, first served basis.

Blue Badge holders are able to reserve car park spaces at the Box Office (0151 709 3789). All reservations must be made at least one week in advance of the concert, and are subject to availability. Payment to be made on entry to car park.

Situated on Falkner Street, this car park is open on concert nights from 5pm, until 20mins after the end of concerts. Please note that gates will be locked after this period. Please do not use this car park if unstaffed.

Situated opposite the Metropolitan Cathedral, this car park is available all day.

Liverpool Cathedral (L1 7AZ)

Situated on Upper Duke Street, a few minutes’ walk away, the car park is generally open on concert nights from 5.30pm. Secure parking with CCTV monitoring and manned patrols.

Cost > £4 on production of your concert ticket. Please ensure that concert tickets are produced and payment for car park is made at the Constable’s Lodge on arrival.

The car park is also available during the day between 7.30am - 6.00pm.

Cost > £3 up to 3 hours, £5 3 - 6 hours 8

Mount Pleasant MultiStorey Car Park (L3 5TB)

Situated on Mount Pleasant, the car park is open Monday to Saturday (7am to 8pm) and Sunday (9am to 8pm).

Cost > £1 per hour, £4 over 3 hours.

Free for blue badge holders all day, when parked in dedicated disabled parking places (level 5 only).

Cambridge Street (L7 7EE)

Situated opposite the Cambridge pub, this car park is available Monday - Friday after 5.30pm, and all day on Saturday and Sunday.

For both car parks take ticket on entry at the barrier, and pay with ticket at pay machine before leaving.

There are a number of nearby car parks, including Queen Square Car park, L1 1RH. Parking tariff £1.90 per hour (0-5 hours) Evening rate of £2.90 between 5pm and 9am.

By public transport Queen’s Square Bus Station and Lime Street Station are both less than 5 minutes walk away.

Please note that parking is very limited at this location, especially on Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra concert nights.

Access at Liverpool Philharmonic Hall Lifts

There are two customer lifts providing level access from the foyer to all levels.

Spaces for wheelchairs with seats for companions are available in Boxes 7, 8, 15, & 16, Row A in the front of the stalls and Rows W & X in the Grand Circle.

A number of the aisle seats in the stalls are transfer seats.

Transfer seats have movable armrests for those who would like to transfer out of their wheelchair and can be used by others with limited mobility.

Accessible WCs

Three ambulant accessible unisex WCs and two fully accessible WCs – allowing right hand or left hand transfer – are available in the foyer. A further fully accessible WC can be found at stalls level close to Box 16 and an additional ambulant accessible WC is located in both the male and female toilets in the basement.

Hearing Induction Loop

A Hearing Induction Loop system is available in Box Office and the Main Auditorium.

The loop system in the Main Auditorium requires infrared equipment which can be requested from us. You can choose between equipment which works with a hearing aid or one which works independently.

Assistance Dogs

Assistance dogs are welcome throughout the building and water is available to them.

Please advise us when booking your ticket if you are bringing an assistance dog as we recommend that you book an aisle seat.
